If you saw an earlier thread I was going to bid on an engine from a Lancia Delta 1600 HF, with the intention of inserting it into my Lada, that engine went for £200 , however I have just won an entire car for just £75 ;D Guy Croft has said it's a good engine on his forum and given me a shopping list of the bits needed to complete the conversion. So I'm going to strip the whole car and keep the engine and the wheels which should also fit the Lada, and sell the rest on. Ps Does anyone know the best place to hire a car transporter trailer in Birmingham?

Get it stripped!
Bound to be unfeasably rusty so it's no great loss.

quite a rare one on an A-plate, that is early!
Chop it up anyway, nick the engine and 'canal'* the remains.

I'd have no hesitation in ripping into a rusty £75 motah unless it was something very desirable and/or rare. That's neither so it's heart is way better off in a Lada

Might as well be stripped for something.... and there's nowt wrong with inserting the running gear into a Lada in my books! Surely you can make some coin back by selling lights and bits and pieces like that as well.

I can't argue with that ;D It's getting stripped, In a way it's very satisfying reducing a car to it's component parts and not having to worry about putting it back together again I'm collecting it Saturday, there is a slight problem however in that it's not a turbo, I thought all HF's were Turbo's and according to Car Spec's it's the GT that is N/A So instead of the 130BHP that I thought it would be it's actually only 105BHP which is only 25BHP extra than stock , however after reading Ratlook Reliant's supercharging build and seeing that in an earlier thread someone mentioned that Mini Cooper S (also 1.6 so ideal) superchargers can be acquired cheaply I'm now thinking this might be possible?

BUT i have plans up my sleve for bigger and better supercharged things.

Hmmm thats disappointing isn't it. In fcat one can see from the engine shot that there is no turdblowa. Its not an HF, its a GT, I was surprised myself that HF's existed on an A plate but never thought of that.
Still, as you say, the 1.6 NA is a great engine nonetheless and would be an ideal candidate for a cheapo BMW mini blower off the bay! In for a penny and all that!
