	my orig rear doors are rotten along the bottom so i grabbed a replacement pair from the scrappies. Fitted 1 of the doors there now, closed it. Wouldn't open. insert swear word here. shouldve checked the latch mechanism was working before fitting! any ideas on how to get this door open? luckily i already had windows, door card etc all striped from it. don't think i can remove mechanism as to access them screws the door has to be open. Car is a merc 190e

	Is the latch definitely jammed? Could be that part of the actuating mechanism has come unclipped - can you reach the back of the latch, and operate it from there?

	As Paul says, you should be able to reach the back of the latch/latch rod from inside the door and get it to open. Might take some fiddling to work out which one is the latch rather than the lock, but should be manageable. I had this problem on my Cavalier and after a few minutes trying different cominations of pulling the different rods the door popped open.
