Well, not really that dramatic, just found some pics of my granada with 17"`s on.. The wheels got stolen, and the car got sold... Too bad really, its really solid.. Oh well, but i KNOW the new owner wil take good care of her. Bad pics, but its the only ones i have with 17"`s. Anyone else has pics of cars they have sold and are missing?

My first car..... Was rear-ended by an escort cabriolet and written off by the insurers. I kept the car and sold it to a guy who gave me some dodgy notes and the reg no was on a Ford Dorchester limo or something last I knew.

it was actually made of filler, i didnt know untill it became one with a tree, over an inch all down one side. Paint was thin, and it was mechanically marginal!

My first Car, My 1970 MG Midget MkIII. Consumed all of the little money I had when I was 17 and managed to get through 4 head gaskets in 1 month and 456302 By-pass hoses! Eventually the brakes failed and it spent two years rusting on my parents drive, 'till I sold it for next to nothing to a guy who said he was gonna restore it....but I never heard nor saw it again, so I fear the worst

My old Victor. Spent years getting the body and structure spot on. Spend a fortune on NOS panels made of Unobtainium now, spent a fortune on a pro bare metal respray and jig aligning of the new panels at a classic specialist. The shell never left the factory that straight. I then got me a 350 chevy, high compression, had custom made stainless headers, cosworth rad, Comp Cams cam, Rhodes lifters, cloyes tru-roller, early type dizzy (better for higher RPM than the smog ones) Holley carb, Edelbrock filter, blah blah, TH350 trans B&M shifter, Autometer dials, beautiful stock vinyl interior, all the new old stock bits I could find there too. "Black Prince" style it was Ventora front suspension, brakes, all new or recond, Ventora rear, 4.10 gears, square CDS tube trailing arms, polly bushed, blah blah blah Sod me that thing was violent. Widest tyres I ever got on it were 195s. It was like a monkey on crack. I loved it. But it was no cruiser, never dared take it on the motorway as it was hot and noisy as hell. And the speedo didn't work. And with that racer type cam it used to try shake itself to bits on tickover. It would burnout without any real provocation. It often got sideways just trying to pull out of a junction normally. I destroyed a set of 175 tyres on it in a morning. I spent (don't ever tell my wife) about £16000 on that car and spent 10 years doing it. I sold it for £3500. This was a hissy fit I had because it really needed a torque converter change and I just couldn't be bothered. It was one of those "I've spent enough money on that car now." moments. I still feel like crying to this day. Now thats a sleeper! engine install nearly competed here here she is in 1993 or so when I started stripping it down. Here she is (stock) with my Ventora and the Cortina 2 door (RIP) about 1991. Makes me think maybe I should end the auction for my Ventora off eBay. I'd buy "VCH" back in a heartbeat.

Three and a half, THREE AND A HALF!! curse word, curse word, curse word. Remember it being advertised for £5000, and thinking I couldn't afford it. Might have been able to stretch to £3500 though, bloody hell, what a bargain that was!

Its what you call a negative return on investment.
That car even had new NOS rear quarters, if you know FDs you know how hard they were to get hold of (now utterly impossible)
Think I might go track the guy down and see if he's done with it yet. No idea how I'd raise the $$$$. At least I know its out and about somewhere. Guy has put alloys on it since though and a VX4/90 grill (that was a brand new NOS Victor grill on there so I hope he didn't just bin it).

That's very similar to Matthew Howell's old one...or was his a four-door? It was Matt Howell's one that inspired me to go out and get my own as it was clearly something I could own, drive, insure and modify at 18 and finally get involved in hot rodding on some level. I met an awful lot of people in the scene through that car.

bought this off ebay for 50 quid, discovered it had a gash glass sunroof but a great engine, then the engine in my daily Scirocco ate itself so the result was inevitable Still it lives on under the bonnet of the other one RIP F391DEC
