Hi everyone...I'm new here. yes, it was a 10.54 @ 145mph, much better than I had ever expected, after running a PB at Avon 3 weeks ago of 11.05 @ 138.66mph, which was my first outing with the new engine. Cured a couple of problems since then, and also tweaked things a little. I did have a problem on my 4th run at Retro, when the supercharger belt shredded, and took out and shorted some of the wiring loom. Fortunately no major damage was done, and I was able to bodge a repair, which allowed us to drive home safely. It seems the belts are my achilles heel with the car, as most other areas have proven to be quite reliable, but I wanted to stay away from my usual turbochargers for this engine. On the link above, to 228.com, there is a fair bit of info already posted up... But I'll give a brief rundown. 1980 MK2 Granada. Now currently running a supercharged 382 LS1 ( 6.2l ) + T56 gearbox. Rear end is a Ford Mustang 8.8" live axle, fitted using a 4-link. Below are some pics of the original LS1 installation, with a 346/5.7l engine, which was soon followed by a low compression version for a bit more poke with the supercharger. Then just about 5-6 weeks ago now, I got the current 382 version up and running, which seems to be working pretty damn well. gallery112848.fotopic.net/Below are some pics of the Axle installation. It was relatively straightforward, although I had to have new halfshafts made to suit, and wide the axle by 30mm each side to suit my wheels/car gallery30279.fotopic.net/c78707.htmlThen finally, some pics of the car in previous years. I used to use a twin turbo Rover V8, before finally giving up on it, in favour of the LS1. gallery10880.fotopic.net/c28124.htmlIf ya need anymore info...just ask

On my one and only run I managed a disapointing 18.2 seconds I blame the hot weather and a power band with more flat spots than a 50 pence Roll on next year.

My mini was in the mid 19s I'm still running it in and didnt go over 5000rpm as ther was a massive flat spot that sent the tacho haywire. I didnt want to push it to far anyway as it only had 200miles running on it. New tyres wouldent go a miss either
