Well Jensen CV8's are now built in Cirencester! There are a few knocking around town. Great sound and look smart too. Better than TVR who have gone too far down the weird road imho.
Mind you, whose idea was it to buy TVR. The only reason they sold any cars at all was because they were badly made, unreliable, dangerous, BRITISH sports cars. Now they are badly made, unreliable, dangerous RUSSIAN sports cars no one want one.

The Wolseley group, as in Build Center, Plumb Center etc I thought was an American company, hence the spelling of center. My dad works for Climate Center.

don't be so quick to presume There is a 'Singer' shop near me in Macclesfield, selling wools, fabrics, dyes and other apolstrey bits and bobs. Uses the original Singer logo. Singer was a huge sowing machine producer during the 60s and 70s, believe they carried on making them. There is currently a brand new bottle if 'Singer' brand bike/sewing machine oil in the office original logo and all.

If anybody here is old enough to remember the 3 day weeks of the 70s, "Red Robbo" and Grunwick, you will know exactly why the British motor industry died on its a***. To quote Napoleon: "Britain is a nation of shopkeepers" He was right, we sell it all but we don't any longer actually own it. Niche car builders? We have always had them but we also had a Giant of a car industry which was the envy of the world....... Tragic.
