For all those camping Saturday night at C.A.R.S - what are their arrangements for tent pitching / food?
I think it's going to be almost impossible to get all RR'ers together for camping - unless the first person who arrives reserves some space for others?
Also, are people going to BBQ or just rely on Burger stands etc (or maybe just a liquid meal!)
It might be an idea for some of us (2-3 people from each convoy) to swap mobile numbers so we can all meet up in one place in the evening.....?

I like long walks, especially when they're taken by people I don't like.

If it's anything like last year the camping area isnt' so big that we won't see each other But I reckon we'll be there late afternoon, and an OMGWTFBBQ is more than likely! I never use the burger stands, but the Pod Pizza is highly recommended. We'll save plenty of space if we're the first ones there!

Got a couple of disposabes ready to bring. 1. cos the boot is limited on the 2. and we'll be rustling up veggie stuff. Pizza sounds like an option too.
Will hopefully (if it turns up) have a RF T shirt on so you know who I am.

it doesn't matter if it's a Morris Marina or a Toyota Celica - it's what you do with it that counts

Jesus, so we can't even get away from the morons even if we park up in a field?! Bloody football. Well, we currently plan to pick up the stand-in official RR support vehical from the docks on Friday afternoon. I hope that will give us enough time to get the gas tank filled (for bacon butty cooking duties sunday morning), the water tanks cleaned and filled and the batteries charged to keep the fridge running nice and cold... We also have to bodge up a quick A-frame +wiring for lights to tow The Mogwy - but we still pan to be there late Saturday afternoon... How many are camping over? Just need to know for bacon/rolls/teabag/milk purchases etc...

Not camping, but I'll certainly be there early enough for a spot of breakfast - beans on toast and a cuppa for me please! Agreed about the football. OT: My neighbour wants to talk with you about the Merc if you're popping round soon. Dunno how serious he is.

Good work, reading all this you're making me envious, but I'm off out to prep my Transit for the French trip now... Ain't camping fun? Where's Barbara windsor for comedy value...

Reanimation Films T so ppl know who I am, plus i needed some anyway. Will have the RR sticker in place in all automobiles soon though too! Not a footy fan, but anyone interested in the game for the sake of the game, and not just being a prize muppet is by me.

Best way is to just drive around the camp site untill you see someone (or their car) you recognise and park up close. I think we will be there early ish so will try and reserve some space for people getting there later on.
Last year it worked pretty well, but there was alot less then 50 iirc

Well myself, Locoster and possibly JettaDelux will be arriving about 4ish - so reserved space for three tents would be muchly appreciated

I've been wondering about this too, as I shall be staying in Hotel Volvo the Pod Pizza is highly recommended. That's on-site is it? Sounds good! Jesus, so we can't even get away from the morons even if we park up in a field?! Bloody football. How many are camping over? Just need to know for bacon/rolls/teabag/milk purchases etc... Agree about the football. BTW, jolly decent of you re: catering facilities - let us know if there's anything we can bring etc

the Pod Pizza is highly recommended. That's on-site is it? Sounds good! For years I resisted the pod pizza, on the grounds that anything that gets raved about so much MUST be rubbish. Then, one night, about a year or so ago, I tried it. Sure, it wasn't cheap, but BOY was it good! Top quality scran. ;D
