That's what it feels like I've entered today with the following spots. Which would you prefer? Strangely, I suspect the Cav may be as popular as the 911. 911 belongs to my boss, he also has a TR2, TR6, Saab 96 for local rallies and a Rover P5. His son has a MkI GTI (supposedly very clean), and his father a 1930's Riley saloon of some sort with small-capacity six-pot. They like their cars, many of the fleet will be active on SCCON's classic car run this weekend.

man, i love those cavaliers! strangely not too keen on the early-looking ones of the same shape (lacking the rear numberplate surround, faded bumpers, different grille, and puke-coloured interiors) but i love the 'sensibleness' of the late 80's ones. my grandparents went to a vauxhall dealer in '88, just after the newer cavalier was launched - they had the full launch party with balloons and cake and stuff. having decided to get a new car, the decision was between a mk2 1.8 GLSi in metallic anthracite, with alloys and electric bits that they had left over, or a bog standard poverty spec new mk3 1.6 L. they went for the newer car 'to help resale value'.... it was turd. can't help thinking if they still had it, it'd be worth less than the mk2! oh yeah and the 911 is nice

I once had an E-plate cav sri 130, love the mk2 now but didnt think much of it when i had it about five years ago, damn it was clean! think i paid about £300 in 2000 As for the 911 coupe!! have loved those cars ever since i had the poster on my bedroom wall as a kid, always will i think! never driven one and i think i need to, out of all the 80s super cars the 911 is the only one that is now reasonably priced and with half respecteble running costs ;D

his father a 1930's Riley saloon of some sort with small-capacity six-pot Lovely - pre war Rileys are probably my favourite cars A development of that six was used in the ERAs ;D

He was telling me this afternoon they went to look at a 1932 Lynx at the weekend for possible addition to the fleet. Also, that on the 911 he broke a rear anti-rollbar mount "giving it some beans" at the weekend.

That will be a very early one then - the Lynx was launched in Sept / Oct (whenever the motorshow was...) for the '33 model year. The '33s are lovely - only 2 doors (rather than the 4 of later Lynxes) but the hood is hidden under a panel when lowered, giving such smooth lines.....
I'm very jealous!!!!

i really like them both, but the 911 might just win it for me - is that a Retro-Rides sticker in the back window?
