Congrats to RR for 20 years Didn't join until 2006 so a couple of years to go before I have a 20 yr anniversary on RR I joined because there wasn't enough Opel content but One Marque forums were graveyards in comparison to RR It's still one of the most active forums still going with daily content that's worth visiting to read - most of the forums I used to use have either shut down or migrated to Facebook where they have effectively died anyway Anyway need to leave a picture here Wheels and a drop right OK the tyres were a bit oversize but it was the right idea

Yep genuine 3.0 24v manual which I've owned since 1994, you should be familiar with it from a few billing visit So pretty much holy grail of Carlton Estates then Last time I went to Billing was maybe 2014?? Before that I don't ever remember seeing a manual 24V Diamond estate - lots of autos but no manuals

Vulgalour has a keen eye 3.0 24V so its a rare old beastie If it has a 24V engine from new then it's a very rare Carlton 24v "Diamond" Estate - very few made and sold, less than 100 from memory - I saw a brand new one in a local dealership back in 1993 that was actually a manual - I was more interested in that one than the Lotus Carlton that was also in the showroom - no idea where that Diamond Estate went it's never appeared in the club circles. If it's getting a heart transplant then it's a "not so rare but still not common" 2.0 Diamond Estate and will be a nice drive if upgraded to 24V The problem for Diamond Estate survival for many years was they had a very nice full leather GSi bucket front seats (looked very similar to those in the Lotus Carlton - the GSI3000 12 & 24V's only got half leather) so many got robbed for their seats so that Lotus Carlton Replicas could look closer to the real thing...... Opelfruit mode off..............

This forum does do weird things now? when logging it it gives me choices so the above post was from a new account that the forum decided to give me? anyway. S800 is safely under cover at present Barracudas are still ongoing but i can't see me doing Two now so i will be breaking one and get rid of the shell. no parts will be for sale as spares for these cars are very difficult to get hold of and usually expensive. Your old user id is "boz" - you may well have changed it to display bozwell however you have now created a new user id bozwell probably because you forgot your original user id was boz HoTWire may well be able to fix it / merge the two ID's but then again maybe not

Ignition switch is my favourite for BMW starting issues - especially ones with the turn the key, let go and the starter decides when it's going to stop turning the engine over - ie when it fires up It's also often quite good at fixing iffy heater controls that seem to have a mind of their own

For holes that have threads on parts that need painting I've always used those foam ear plugs - unless the hole is really big then I'd put a bolt in them Loving your painting avoidance I didn't think it was - we swim in the bloody things at work and you roll them up and shove them in you ear and they expand again - I just found another use for their expansion characteristics

Hi, do you require any helpers for the show? Such as Marshalling etc? Marshalling on track is covered by Mallory but we run with a very small crew across the weekend. No idea why anyone would want to volunteer to assist - it's bloody hard work If you really want to get involved send me a PM

Hi all My brother is thinking of coming over from New Zealand to come to the gathering, what would he need to provide to drive my car on track? Thanks all Just a driving licence NZ one is fine - obviously you'd need to apply when the system opens for applications

Portaloos on the campsite were excellent but the shower situation was less so, it was not ideal at all. I hear you loud and clear ryszWe ( Keefy gewy and others in the set up team were very curse word off that one of the units had seen service in a war zone with boilers that kept going out - wouldn’t fire up unless at least two showers were used at the same time and were no where near the standard that we demand from the suppliers - however we were presented with a “fait de complis” (spl) when the other unit that should have been at the event (same as the one that did work) was damaged at another event and we had to have a last min substitution and was totally out of our control - we considered getting it removed and just running with the one better but by no means perfect unit but it was too late for that We were also less than impressed with the drainage arrangements as the shower drains should not have been run to floor but plumbed in to the toilet block drains (as it was the previous year) I will state here that it was our biggest annoyance of the weekend and I’m very sure that Keith will be moving heaven and earth to find a supplier that can deliver better shower units They fell way short of our acceptable stds The toilet block on the hard standing needs improvements too so thats on our list for next year to see if Mallory can improve them - we turned up to find the outside taps had been isolated due to pipes freezing in the winter - we needed those taps for campers water point and the feed for the showers - it got sorted but as I said - it’s been added to the list. The toilet block infield was cleaned every morning and were nice - we just need the same to be done for the block on the camp site and maybe a freshen up to make them nicer If I’ve overstepped or got anything wrong Keefy will put me right

Massive thanks to all the RR crew for yet another cracking weekend very much enjoyed! Special thanks to Ian bstardchild for shuffling the packs in the early morning track runs so I didn't hold everyone else up due to a severe lack of power! It made more sense to do that - it wasn't just you that we did it for - same with gaping cars - we had Mark (start line Marshall) who very quickly picked up what was needed to do to ensure we got everyone the two laps without slower cars getting the chequers before they'd done just one lap because they'd already been overtaken It's a lesson we need to apply to Goodwood as well (yes GW is a longer circuit but they gap/release cars rigidly to the same point. At Mallory we had the opportunity to be flexible with the release point for the following cars. (we started with half way round Gerrards and ended up at the end of the chevrons on the pit exit Probably something I will raise in the Sunday Track feedback thread I intend to start when my thoughts are firmed up

Quick question, is there catering on site on the Friday/Saturday night? I'm just planning what food I need to bring. Cheers Rysz. I thought the Circuit Cafe (a short walk across the track from the campsite) did some really nice food on the Saturday evening while the Tat auction was on - I think he was open on Friday night too

Take it you can drop your car in the paddock area in the morning if youre on a afternoon slot? Never done Mallory before, quite looking forward to it. Just to hope its a dry one now Absolutely you can in fact I'd encourage it as we don't have a method for for getting car across the track after 9am until lunch break without stopping track activity I would just ask that you don't sign on at the same time as morning session people are signing on
