I've been debating how I was going to tackle the cab & if I wanted the hassle. At the start of June I bought a pair of doors as mine are a but crusty in places. While buying the guy told me about a hijet pick up local so I asked him to sort a few pics. Fast forward until today & I finally got the chance to go & look at it. Cab is completely rust free & all the mechanicals look great. Low mileage & only 2 previous owners. A deal was done & I'm hoping to have it home next week. I'm going to tackle this a bit different to my normal strip it bare & start fresh, the plan is to sort the engine with a service, strip & rebuild brakes, check bushes, ball joints etc & mot it. Then I'll add my flipped rear axle, coilovers & wheels.

Picked this up today for a few mods for a customer. I'd forgotten how much I appreciate servo assisted brakes & modern suspension.

I've added current & proposed brake set up to my first post. Do not combine both outputs from the MC into one amalgamated output. One line should operate one front brake, and one or both rears, and the other should operate the opposite rear and front. If you have one rear line then one run rear line from one of the MC outputs. If you have two rear lines which is what it looks like the photo of the chassis shows then you need to run opposite corners off each MC output for sensible safety. This may mean you need 2 brake bias valves but it also means you won't lose your entire brake hydraulics in the event of line failure. Do you mean the 4 way splitter I proposed in my 2nd pic? The 1st pic is factory 5 way splitter that shares front & rear ports too?

My problem is that the actual housing is corroded & the cradle in the tank is pretty poor.

The petrol tank on the hijet is peppered with holes & some are quite large. I have a mate who can make an aluminium tank but my tank has an in tank fuel pump which is also corroded & damaged. When he builds the new tank can I just fit an external fuel pump like a facet red top that matches flow rate? It's a 1.3 efi engine if that makes a difference.
