Losing my garage at the end of the month, so it'll be being moved to another one. Not touched it in a few months.
Tried to start it the other day and it wasn't happy and I think a tyre was flat. Gotta book some time off to get it up and running again and get it moved. Starting to think it'll sit for a year or so while I get my stuff together and can properly do stuff.
106 clutch went so that's being done tomorrow. Not much else going on.

A well known collection/rotting group of classics seems to have had a fire in recent weeks. This was late July and I could still smell it very strongly. Looks like he lost a trabant, MGBGT Convertable, half of a Lotus Excel and a few others. Such a shame as they all just sit there and rot. A few of you probably know the place. Tried to get in contact with the owner many times to no avail. and not exactly a classic but sitting idle nonetheless: Spoke to the owner - won't sell as it's a sadly deceased family members and has many memories attached.

That's silly low mileage, gotta bring at least a couple grand. I'd even drop a message to KGF1 - this is right up their street.

Mate seriously? Just v62 it and tow it away. You know the owner isn't around and nobody will bat an eyelid at a scrap old car being towed away, and if you have the logbook any curious passers by enquire. I've done it myself when I fell in love with a car that was headed to the crusher and nobody knew who it belonged to. Pretty much this. Just apply for the logbook and get someone to trailer it, sod 'em - if it's willingly going to waste nobody is going to miss it.

Looks like a little bargain given the MOT history (clean on the last one) - only off the road for a year or so.

Hi there, Am looking to lower my Volvo 240 estate this week, just ordering in springs, based in London UK Anyone got any recommendations? Also will I need to change the shocks or any other part of the steering? Cheers Paul Only slightly more serious, classicswede stocks various springs. Commonly available -40mm lowering springs only bring the car down a bit from it's stratospheric normal ride height to normal car height, not actually lowering. Another vote for ClassicSwede. Got the 70mm lowering springs when I had my 740 saloon, sat just right and not stupidly low at all. 70mm brings it down to the height of a normal car... Still very comfy too and handled like a totally different car. The 240 next to my 740 above is on cut springs. I do think after a while the 70mm ones would have an impact on the shocks though, my rears started to sag a little when I sold it but not sure why that was. It had cut springs on beforehand (although they were cut to within an inch of their life, 2 coils left at the front!) which were shocking beyond belief. If you just cut 2/3 coils off I believe they are okay (if a tiny bit bouncy) - but getting an MOT is a bit of a weird area with cut springs. Yep went for coils all round, PRICY - springs and shocks were the most cost affective but I wanted to lower it to the ground, so will let you know how I get on Thursday. The mentioned that I would need a brake fairing kit any suggestions? Also, is it possible to bolt on a turbo to a 92 240 SE estate, seen a couple of posts that you can. Its a 2.3 fuel injected? just a thought Not really - think the engines aren't as strong and you'll need a new wiring loom or ECU. Non-turbo transmissions aren't as strong either. Better off just getting a whole donor turbo and doing a swap.

So - I bought a new daily because I have no self control. Nah - mainly because now I'm 25 my insurance has gone down and I miss my old MK1 MX5. Went to see it as it was local for a laugh, ended up buying it.. The 106 was good - just so dull. 1.6 Import Eunos is more my style. Looks the dogs danglies too I think you'll agree! Sticks to the road like glue. Literally. It's scary. 106 will be for sale soon if anyone fancies. Had a roof down run out to Brighton for a day out, and to collect some paint. Sadly they gave me the wrong shade of....one of them...but that will be resolved soon with any luck. More expensive daily means that progress will be probably a little slower but not too much - but I'm a much happier bunny overall. I look forward to driving to work / around again which I haven't in the longest time.
