Awesome truck, are parts from the later b2500 not compatible or modifiable to use on this? My Ranger is a Mazda underneath and they seem to use near identical and interchangeable parts from 1999-all the way to 2011 pretty much. Might be some similarities you can exploit there somewhere.

I don’t think Mazda an Ford shared the model in the 80’s but if there were interchangeable parts I would welcome that!

Love it! I had a '78 B1800 as my first car on the road when I was 17. Had a hefty roof chop and it was made convertible! Loved it. Failed the mot and I couldn't afford to fix it so it sat for about 4 years and then went on ebay 😑

They sold them here as the Ford Courier as well as the B2000 I will keep that in mind, plenty of spare parts come up in Australia when searching. It's just the cost of getting them here!

Shows how fashions change, both clothes, excuse the waistcoat! Back in fashion now! And Since then whole bodykit Max Power body kit scene has come and gone.

Real nostalgia rush here. I really fancied one of those when I passed my test in the early 00s but I just couldn't scrape the cash togeter at the time.

I like the step side bed on that! Convertible pickups were not uncommon in the custom world back in the day. A company called Ratical made conversion kits, definitely designed for California, as it leaks like a sieve! After the Rally the engine will be getting pulled, for a V8, probably a Rover, but I did buy a conversion kit to fit a Chevy motor, on my honeymoon 21 years ago!

Always loved this truck. Future wheel choice is going to be crucial going forward. Any ideas how big & what style?

Always loved this truck. Future wheel choice is going to be crucial going forward. Any ideas how big & what style? No idea on wheels, probably just get the directionals blasted and painted. This is just a quick cheap project to get it tidied up. But with only five weeks to go to the rally I'm quickly realising it won't be finished the way I want. So will need some more paint(metalflake) when I come back. I really want to save my money and time for the other current project, the microcar and next big project, the prostreet Escort.
