Sooo overdue an update, apologies. Alot has happened since July 2017 - including buying a new car - but here are the key events as far as this wee beastie is concerned: In September 2017 my wife and I went to the International 02 Treffen at Lelystad, Netherlands, along with a strong UK 02 contingent. There is a drag event as well as an autosolo and the 02forum.co.uk always puts in a decent showing for the former. This year was no exception with Dave Gamble taking 3rd in his M2 (s14 in an 02=M2) My wingman for the trip was Ian Elliot in his gorgeous 3502 Touring (yep, an m30b35 in a bloody 02 body = madness!) I sold my daily 330d in March 2018 as Mrs Knobstar decreed that thou shalt no more than 2 automobiles posess. This was just following the arrival of this ere E3: a 2500 with a 3 litre conversiob that had spent its life in Sweden: The upshot of this decree was that the white car we affectionately refer to as 'Dickhead' was now the daily driver whilst I made the E3 UK roadworthy! Apart from the odd cold morning and a few split fuel hoses Dickhead was a flawless commutermobile. In the hotter months i took out over 20 people from work to give them a taste of our retro addiction. Needless to say many many smiles were had! I also weighed the car during the summer and was alarmed at the result. A serious diet (and more power!) are planned for 2o19:

Without sounding daft are any of the bolts loose? Engine side or subframe, I mean. The one on the passenger side is a pinch arrangement, so can let engine rotate to driver's side, or the driver's side mount can slide slightly. If neither of those then ask over at 02forum.co.uk in the tech help area as one of the guys will be able to help, for sure. www.02forum.co.uk/viewforum.php?f=9

Hi All I have a set of 4 Fundo alloy wheels in very good condition; no kerbing marks whatsoever. They are 5x120 PCD and measure 7 x 15 ET20. They come with Hancook 185/65; two with 4mm tread and 2 with 6.5mm tread. Genuine reason for sale is that they came on an E3 i bought and i think they look a bit daft! However, i know they look great on more modern metal. Looking for £175ono. Wheels located at DE65 5AU. Thanks, Matt

Dude I would have liked to have found you over the weekend to tell you how fab the car looked and that you have done yourself proud. Instead I bored my 02 mates with some of the details I've learned from your thread I am looking forward to the day when I can park my unhinged-mobile next to yours and have a catchup, but am so pleased for you nonetheless that you got it running for such a fantastic event. Hi folks I was trying to buy day tix yesterday but the store was down all afternoon. I thought this may be linked to the deadline(?) I went on the store just now and was able to buy a couple of camping tix - does that mean you extended the deadline or should i just cancel them and get a refund? Sorry to be a pain Matt We had some MASSIVE website issues yesterday (perfect timing :/ ). You are all good. Although I think you are the last weekend tickets we'll be selling as I'm about to take them 100% off sale. Day tickets will be on sale until Monday evening (extended due to website issues). Awesome - thank you! Can't wait :-D

Latvala and Hirvonen obviously do a bit of rallying in their past time, too! Everyone loves a rally escort but the celica really emphasises how much more work the drivers had to do back in the 90s to get the tail moving for a corner.

Always love an update from you, dude - glad to see you're managing to nudge it along, still. Wiring is always a curse word but - as always - you are making a great job of it

HOw can i say no to a request to update?! Looking at the date of my last update I have been really lazy since the beginning of the year as far as posts are concerned! So to re-cap: beginning of the year I had just started an engine swap and the goal was end of April to drive to Provence with fellow 02ers.. Got the superlight flywheel on: Box in too and moved on to prop. Bit of cutting and welding needed on box rear support as the floors are different heights. As the alternator mount on the m44 incorporated the power steering mount i opted to try to use the bracket off the M10 and the associated alternator. It works for now but it will need changing later in the year: Got lucky with the oe radiator in that it fitted a charm and cleared the bonnet, too: Certainly wouldn't have made it anywhere near France without the help of this chap: Vids and more next

Massive respect for taken on this - they're rusty at the best of times but if the chassis is anything to go by yours is on course to be a stunner. Probably my biggest car-related regret was parting with this over 10 yrs ago:

Have now taken everything off the engine that i either don't need or am going to replace. The final part to come off tonight was the massively heavy flywheel. I made a little restraint from a slivver of box section such that i could undo the 8 bolts: The new flywheel is at the end of my road in the post office as i was late home - will get pics up tomorrow. Once the flywheel and clutch go back on we should be able to get the little lump in the car: New flywheel's here and fantastically light - nearly 9 kilos lighter than the original!
