Saab 9-5 aero gets my vote, cheap as chips, 250bhp and handle well You must have been in some truly shocking cars if you think a 9-5 handles well. A £1000 172 is going to be a bit of a lemon these days. A 1700 Puma is the biggest smile per mile for that money.

I will watch every second of every episode they film - Why? Because I am a petrol head and I have respect for anyone else that loves engines too - I don't care if I didn't like him as an actor in Friends, his passion for cars shone through. Chris Evans is universally slated but I love him, both as a person and as a presenter. There are VERY few car related programmes that i don't watch because I love them all! More Top Gear please, more 5th Gear etc etc. How dare you come on here with such a reasonable and logical outlook.

I was going to suggest 9-5 aero as well, the 2.8 V6 turbo 9-3's can be blisteringly quick for little money, I'd like a sportwagen but they hold their value.

What about a Lupo TDI? Neve owned one pesonally but 60+ mpg sounds appealing! SDI, no turbo on those! Comically slow but so economical.

Would you be interested in a swap at all? I’m supposed to be downsizing but what you offering? I have a 3dr Mk5 Golf GTi in black, BBS anniversary wheels, 128k, Miltek catback, maybe not what you're after but worth an ask 😁

Holy moly that's cheap, can you actually go faster for less? I doubt it.

I've got an itch for something relatively large and quick, preferably 90's but any ideas welcomed! I am not biased, from any corner of the globe. Quick I guess is a personal thing but I suppose anything around 200bhp+ ought to do the trick.

I like to think I know a thing or 2 about Volvo's, but I can't say I've ever seen those wheels before. They really suit it! 10/10 car.

That's exactly what I wish I found before I bought my saloon 5 years ago, absolutely lovely.

850 or ph1 V70 T5, stick a mapped ECU in it and a catback exhaust and you'll be chewing front tires for laughs. Can't wait to get mine back on the road!

I've been after a reasonable/tidy 9000 Aero/turbo for a while but they're seemingly thin on the ground these days, especially in manual form. Must be a 2.3 if it's not an Aero and ideally lacking in the rust department.
Ben.

Quite the opposite for me, a friend often has to move his bosses cars around and recently bought one of the new Roadsters, for something that costs over £125k I was pretty disappointed, yes it drives well and rides the bends nicely but they are by no means fast! Ok then 0 to 60 in just over 4 secs is by no means fast then? I’ll just leave it there We can throw numbers around all day, but they're certainly not "mentally quick".

If only an electric motor sounded like a lazy V8, or a straight four sucking on twin 40's, or a quad cam howl, or anything to stir the soul. In fact, anything. TBH I’m not an EV fan, but a mate of mine has an i8 BM. He took me a spin in it, mental quick, but the noise..... epic. I sat there dumbstruck by the power & then eventually said, wow that sounds awesome. Not real he says, comes through the speakers in the car. Apparently same deal outside for the onlookers & you can turn it up/down/off. Yes, I know, I know, it’s not the same you say (& I agree) but it did make me think. You really would not have known Quite the opposite for me, a friend often has to move his bosses cars around and recently bought one of the new Roadsters, for something that costs over £125k I was pretty disappointed, yes it drives well and rides the bends nicely but they are by no means fast!

Good price that, although given that these are chain driven, a little unsure about the cambelt being changed!
