Right this came yesterday, bit of playing with, it wouldn't undo my wheel bolts - i tested them and they have been up too tight - about 200nm.
So new a nut and bolt in the vice, torqued up and highest it did was 170nm.
Quality it looks good, nice finish etc.
There is one other review video of it and it also fails to undo wheel bolts, but he does go on to add that after a few uses it got more powerful and now does them easily.
Going to see what the seller has to say and them get a branded one.
The sealey 400nm one looks good - still abit dubious is will be close to 400nm tho.

I use hermes a fair bit, mainly because i can do it all online and print the label in the shop. I'm not buying another printer for it to stop working again. I'm not waiting at the Post office to post something since half of them have closed down the ones left are always busy.
RM do seem to be alot more popular these days, most of my ebay buys come with them, i guessing its because they can actually track stuff now without it costing a stupid price.
don't know why its taken them so long, they have all the infrastructure in place to absolutely dominate the industry yet they tootle along changing slowly.
All those post offices they have closed could have been parcel hubs, pre-order drop off and click and collect style pickup.
Ive been loving RM while ive not been at work everyday, sure that will change when I'm back and miss a delivery and have to go to the sorting office to receive the slowest service known to mankind.

For 60% more you can get the Sealey one. I've yet to test the one I bought the other week but I still feel more comfortable than buying the one you link. Simple because I can shout at the company over the phone if I need to in a year or two. I'm not knocking your choice, because I can't. Just giving another perspective. After laying on my back fitting a towbar on my mates van i impulse bought one, even just for winding the bolts in and out after loosening them would have saved loads of time. - Dayplus model. You are right, I'm abit annoyed at myself, you can get sealey 400nm ones for about £90-100 which are a better option i think. Ill see what this ebay one is like if its curse word, ill send the thing back after making a yoyube video review of it. Ill either get a sealey or go the whole hog and get a dewalt gun, two batteries and a grinder aswell for about £375 to £400, i like the options of more tools on the same batteries. Ill let people know what its like when it arrives.

id keep it stock they are getting rarer, if its good condition. Wasn't that long ago you'd regularly see a proper mint low mileage one in the scrapyard.

yeah ive seen that one, ruled the makita clone one out.
Seen some reviews of some other cheap ones and they don't seem too bad, certainly cover what i want a small one for.

Two experiences of the same car. Work mate had his for many years was fine for him pretty reliable etc just very tatty and dirty inside. Sold it to me for £150, i bought it for a laugh - it was not a laugh.
first day - flat tyre before id even driven it second day - snapped spring, went in to the side of the tyre - wrecked tyre - abandoned it late at night Third day - smashed window -went it collect and someone had broken into it.
Scrapped. Created a nice bit of banter at work so was worth it.
Ill never own another car with the spring perches designed that if a spring snaps it has nothing to even give it a chance of keeping in place.
The heated seats in them are complete curse word when compared volvo seats of the same age.
i think the estate version would look good with some modifications.

The same outcome as running red diesel if you get caught. £500 fine or vehicle seized, HMRC may want to look in to your financials too, for claiming back lost tax.
Should run fine tho.

I think its changed mate.
She has gone through the insurance, but not claiming for her car, not worth the aggro, £200 excess and risk of losing a good little car, its hard to find a decent low price automatic.
Fixed washer bottle, pulled wing out and secured headlight and its fine. That wing was the worse panel on the car being a pattern part not painted a good matching shade, will look out for a secondhand genuine wing in the right colour.

Why will they cancel her policy? As far as i can found out they are expected to carry on cover unless its a exceptionally high risk or you cant find an appropriate replacement car.
Sucks for them both.
Hoping she can keep her car. When i rear ended someone in my sprinter i didnt claim for my van as all i had was a bent number plate, no inspections or questions.
Not sure whether to say the same thing or attempt to claim for it but keep it.

From recent parts searching id say QH are now just a rebrand of the cheapest parts available.
If its a car I'm keeping id fit poly bushes if they are available.
With the wishbones on p2 v70's they tend to say buy oem but they have been sitting on a shelf for many years and they have been reports of these showing cracking signs pretty mch traight away. If not oem buy lemforder complete arms, not seperate bushes as they are a lower quality than the bushes fitted to complete arms.
Minefield of curse word parts, and curse word sellers.
Fitting Poly instead as they hopefully should be fit and forget.

My girlfreind has managed to crash her 1999 micra, only passed7 months ago, wrong lane on a roundabout - her fault - damage is wing, headlight bracket and washer bottle - i can fix in a hour. Other chaps car is a 2002 audi worth £500 now has a dented and scraped door and wing - seems a nice enough guy offered him £300 if he doesn't want to claim, which i was in his shoes would snap up. But if he does want to claim, is it worthwhile trying to get some money in leu to repair her car or just say no damage that we want to claim for, she wont want to lose her car. Will it make a difference come renewal time.

My MOT was due 18th of March - Got it done - needed rear bushes to pass the retest. Bushes turned up within the retest time but then C19 happened and I still have no idea if my car can have the extension - does anyone know? I had another car to use so I just sorned it. No you have no valid MOT because it was before the 30th march when the scheme was started, check on dvla website mot check. Cars get the extension added around 7 days before due date.

Good, now traffic is back up to normal levels and the majority of people are happy to carry on as normal as they can do, then there is no reason why you cant get a MOT. If you can pop to BNQ, screwfix, park, beach, shops then you can pop to an mot station.
Will be plenty of COVID mot cars running around on the roads for the next 6 months that will never seen another MOT pass and would be in the scrapyard otherwise.
My daily has been jacked up more and had more money spent on it since lock down than its lat few years combined by far. Changing everything that could need doing in the next few years while i have the free time.

Ring up to cancel - they will reduce price.
RAC but they seem curse word these days - not enough staff. I'm only with them as my dad insists on been a member and gets me added on for free.
I don't expect to have to wait 3 hours for a jump start. This one annoyed me as it was cold, said they would be out within an hour, so i waited...waited only to get another call saying its going to be at least another two hours. I got a mate to come, which i would have done in the first place if they hadn't said within the hour.
The last time my dad needed them they couldn't even come out that day, despite him partially blocking a road - again only needing 10 minutes of time to tow him out from the curb and bump start the car to free a stuck start motor.
The days of RAC and AA offering a great service in my opinion are gone. They will get you home but don't expect great efficient service.
Over the years though.
P100 id bought with a snapped crank - recovered home, decent wait but to be expected. landrover with its rear broken free at 90' angle stuck under the middle of it half under and half sticking out. mk1 golf - rear end wrapped around post. mk1 caddy after engine and cab fire beetle with a snapped balljoint - i was stuck in the m1 services for about 8 hours, recovery firm gave me a courtesy car and delivered the beetle home the next day.

i Guessed steel will be way down as it fluctuates alot more, all mine is non-ferrous which usually is abit more stable.
Ive seen a few more scrapmen about after a few weeks of it taking ages for stuff to get taken off of the streets.

Anyone know if scrap prices are way down? I know they are not taking cars at the minute.
Got a decent stash of batteries, loads of clean alloy and stainless blocks that ive not had time/motivation to get rid of for ages.
