A time warp Mk1 Vauxhall Vectra 2.0i 16v LS with one owner and 33,164 miles.EQUIPMENTLaminated windscreen, green tinted glass with windscreen shadeband, safety crumple zones, rigid passenger safety cell, driver airbag, bodyside protection mouldings, colour coded bumpers, halogen headlamps, electric front windows, central locking, tilt/slide sunroof, Philips CAR400 stereo cassette, remote LCD stereo display featuring digital clock with time/date and external temperature gauge with ice warning, cigar lighter, illuminated glove locker, vanity mirror. Factory Options; Remote control ultrasonic security alarm system. Dealer Options; Vauxhall Mudflaps, Trafficmaster Oracle, Vauxhall carpet mats, Witter towbar with twin electrics, rear parking sensors. EXTERIORThis wonderfully nostalgic and very retro Vauxhall Vectra, a once common sight on UK roads and instantly familiar to many, is now seldom seen and this example is preserved in amazing condition having covered just 33,164 miles with one owner from new. Finished in factory original Flame Red, (Code L547), the paintwork boasts an incredible deep shine and beautifully polished finish. In line with the low mileage and strict garage storage, the body panels are preserved and pin straight. There is a touched in scratch to the lower nearside rear door, a small mark to the rear bumper and the Vauxhall front grille badge is slightly delaminated. The factory glass, Carello headlights and original supplying dealer number plates remain. A car to take you back to the ‘sales rep’ days of the 1990’s! INTERIORA spotlessly clean and period perfect Vauxhall interior is sure to delight fans of the Griffin badged cars! The original Traffic upholstery in Anthracite, (Code L98), is preserved with no undue wear to the fabric and seats bolsters are firm. The matching colour keyed door cards and headlining are pristine, and the fleece carpets are protected by tailored Vauxhall Dealer Sport carpet mats. All functions and controls operate perfectly including the Philips CAR400 stereo cassette and remote display with all pixels intact. Prominent natural veins to the steering wheel and gear knob are an obvious trait of such a low mileage example and even the gearstick gaiter has not degraded, almost unheard of for a Vauxhall of this era! The immaculate luggage area has the perfect carpet and parcel shelf and the side storage cubby has the original jack and wheel brace. Deliciously 90’s throughout! ENGINE & TRANSMISSIONThis Vectra LS features the desired 2.0i 16v ECOTEC-4 petrol engine developing 134bhp at 5600rpm and 188Nm of torque at 3200rpm. This well-maintained example with just 33,164 miles drives perfectly and the quiet yet free-revving engine is a delight. The engine bay is very clean, unaltered and displays original panel stampings, plates and stickers. The five-speed manual transmission is tight and precise. WHEELS, TYRES & BRAKESThe original 15in wheels wear the correct LS specification hubcaps which are in excellent condition. Matching branded 195/65 R15 tyres are fitted and have plenty of tread and the spare wheel still wears the factory fitted Continental tyre which has never been used. Featuring anti-lock braking (ABS) as per all models and with uprated size discs 288mm front and 286mm rear, correct for the 2.0i 16/2.5i V6 models, the brakes are well maintained and operate perfectly. HISTORY FILERegistered new on the 1st August 1997, this exceptional Vectra has covered just 33,164 miles from new with one owner. The car was supplied new by Vauxhall Main Dealer, Perrys of Preston, to Mr and Mrs Whiteside. The new vehicle order form confirms the price paid of £13,438.99 less part exchange allowance of £9,000 for their P registration Vectra 1.8i which Mr Whiteside decided was underpowered and wished he had chosen the 2.0 engine! The Vauxhall document wallet houses all handbooks, point of sale literature and the stamped service book as well as two original keys. The most recent service was in 2022 with approximately 200 miles covered since and the cambelt and water pumped were documented as changed in 2019 at 31,518 miles. A separate large folder holds many service and maintenance invoices as well as MOT records dating back to the first in 2000. There is even a 1997 Vectra range brochure! This beautifully preserved Vectra is a credit to its long-term custodian and offers capable, practical and comfortable retro motoring, a guaranteed hit at shows. MOT June 2024, HPI Clear. 1992 Nissan Sunny GTI-R GNN14 by KGF Classic Cars, on Flickr SOLD / 01733 425140 / 07976 935046 / sales@kgfclassiccars.co.uk
Thinking of selling? Our proven commission sale or SOR (Sale or Return) program is a great way to utilise and access our professional services and facilities while still maximising the return from your vehicle with minimal hassle, stress and time, If you’d like to take advantage of this then please get in touch for further information. Alternatively If you’d like to move your vehicle on quickly and efficiently with minimal delay then we can make an offer on an outright purchase basis with payment and collection arranged soon after.
One of just 103 UK RHD cars, a bog-standard Nissan Sunny GTI-R GNN14.MODEL HISTORYFollowing the introduction on the N14 generation of Sunny in the early 1990’s, Nissan turned its attention to Motorsport with the hope of injecting some desirability and excitement into the brand. The Nissan Sunny/Pulsar GTI-R was developed under model name GNN14 and after producing the minimum 5000 road cars required for Group A homologation (just before the production requirement was lowered to 2500 units), Nissan entered the car in the Group A category of the FIA World Rally Championship as a "Works" factory team under Nissan Motorsport Europe. Much tribulation was caused from the unrealistic immediate success expected by head office which was not forthcoming, and Nissan completely abandoned the GTI-R campaign in 1992 after competing in only nine rallies. Of the road going cars, just 771 Sunny GTI-R’s were produced of which only 103 were in right-hand drive with only 27 made in Red. EQUIPMENTPerformance tuned chassis, body-coloured sports bumpers, sleek cooling ducts in bonnet, hood air intake, large tailgate spoiler, colour coded side skirts, wheel arch extensions, mud flaps, Anti-lock Braking System (ABS), ATTESA (Advanced Total Traction Engineering System All-Terrain) 4WD system, LSD (Limited Slip Differential), oil temperature gauge, oil pressure gauge, turbo boost gauge, 9000rpm tachometer, sports seats, power windows, auto door lock, power mirrors, 2 speakers, digital clock. Factory options; Nissan stereo/cassette. Dealer accessories; Tailored Nissan floor mats. EXTERIORThis amazing example finished in Red, (Code AJ4), is preserved in superb condition. The paint finish is fantastic with a deep consistent shine and all factory panels are straight with uniform gaps. Very few tiny touched in frontal stone chips are visible. Preserved sporting trim sections, light fitments and all factory glass is fully intact with Nissan etching and labels. Wheel arch apertures and door shuts are very clean. Some of the easily identifiable exterior features to denote a UK RHD Sunny include the boot lid surround to accommodate a UK numberplate as well as non-colour coded door mirrors. Virtually impossible to find in this unspoiled state, this super rare road going rally car is a serious performance machine and one for the WRC fanatic! INTERIORTo climb inside the interior of this wonderfully kept example is sheer delight in both condition and the car unspoilt state. Precisely as it left the factory, there has been no modification whatsoever. The sports velour seats in GTi Black, (Code G), are in superb order with firm bolster retaining correct shape. Matching door cards are undamaged and grey tufted carpets are still protected by tailored Nissan floor mats. Some of the interior features to denote a UK RHD Sunny include speedometer reading in KM and miles, boost and oil pressure gauges reading in PSI not Bar, digital clock below the tachometer and importantly there is no umbrella holder which is correct. All functions, controls and gauges operate perfectly including the original Nissan stereo. The boot area is pristine the parcel shelf and carpet intact. Full wheel changing equipment is present as is the original toolkit. Wonderfully unspoilt. ENGINE & TRANSMISSIONProducing nearly double the horsepower from the next model down in the N14 line up, this GTI-R used the SR20DET engine with T3 Garret Turbo and massive 350mm x 295mm x 60mm intercooler. With full-time ATTESA 4WD, blistering performance from the 217bhp allows a top speed of 144mph and 0-62mph in just 5.4 seconds, 0.2 seconds quicker than an Escort Cosworth! The spotlessly clean and totally standard engine bay displays factory plates, stickers, under-bonnet labels and panel stampings. The five-speed gearbox is light and has the sturdy sporting feel. The perfect opportunity to experience an unmolested Sunny GTi-R performing at its absolute best. WHEELS, TYRES & BRAKESThe 6 JJ 14 alloys wheels are in pristine condition and all four road wheels wear premium quality Bridgestone Pilot HX 195/60 R14 tyres with masses of tread. Originality seekers will be pleased to see the factory Bridgestone Tracompa-2 tyre fitted to the space saver spare wheel. The 2-channel Anti-lock Braking System (ABS) incorporates ventilated discs to the front and solid rear discs to harness the awesome power. HISTORY FILERegistered new on 25th November 1992 and supplied by Landes Du Marche Garage in Guernsey, this amazing Sunny GTI-R has covered just 61,274 miles from new. As denoted by the chassis number, this example is a Phase B Series 1 car and the 18-digit model number designates region letter E for Europe B (England, Ireland, Cyprus, Malta). The model number allows easy decoding of the cars data to fully verify this as a genuine Sunny GTI-R. Of the 103 RHD cars produced, just 27 were made in Red. A comprehensive service history accompanies this fascinating rare car with the original service booklet and filed invoices evidencing 27 services, the majority of which were carried out at Nissan Main Dealers. The car has covered less than 300 miles since last service and the large history folder holds Nissan Dealer and specialist service invoices and comprehensive MOT records. The full book pack and even the original PDI sheet are held in the Nissan document wallet. An exceptionally rare performance machine just as Nissan intended it to be. Awesome. EXTERIORThe road version of the rally winner and available only at your Ford Rallye Sport dealer was the draw of these special cars built at the Advanced Vehicle Operations (AVO) division. Finished in one of the three launch colours, Sunset Red (Code J), this genuine early Mexico is stunning with incredible detailing extending to the underside for those wishing to enter the show circuit of this once proven concours winner. Vital components such as the rear stone deflector held in by eight bolts in the boot floor and strengthened AVO workmanship are laid bare for all to see. A few minor blemishes do not detract from this Concours d’Elegance winner. The chrome, glass and badges are in immaculate order with the front screen still being the genuine Ford Triplex laminated item with accompanying sticker cleaned by Trico Speedblade wipers. The lens units are FoMoCo and the contrasting Mexico stickers are in perfect condition cementing the iconic rally look. INTERIORHigh grade Black PVC upholstery, (Code AA), as fitted to ‘L’ specification early cars are simply incredible along with the rest of the interior. The padded facia has no cracks or rips and the correct matt-black finish to the beautiful instrument panel to eliminate dazzle is unmarked. Fitted with the factory 140mph speedometer and 8,000rpm rev counter, all gauges, controls and switches are fully operational. The optional black looped-pile carpet is spotlessly clean along with the desirable Springalex dished steering wheel. The boot area continues the showroom experience with the early Mexico’s battery-in-boot setup meaning the spare wheel is mounted to the boot floor. The nine-gallon fuel tank finished in factory matt grey and even the jack and wheel brace are within the original fawn muslin bag and black light protectors undamaged. Spectacular. ENGINE & TRANSMISSIONSpectators will drool in amazement under the bonnet of this desirable early Escort Mexico as it is so clean. The four cylinder 1600 GT crossflow unit with the 711M block is quoted in the sales brochure at 86bhp to go up to a ton with little effort and hit sixty in under 11 seconds. Correct specification from the AC oval metal airbox finished in silver to the tubular four-into-one exhaust system exactly replicated in stainless steel will please scrutineers. The original VIN plate and AVO ID plate remain fixed to the slam panel. The close ratio all-synchromesh 4-speed gearbox with heavy-duty three-rail shift ensures positive changes. WHEELS, TYRES & BRAKESFitted with the correct pressed steel wheels with the cooling slots measuring 5.5x13in and immaculate chrome hubcaps. The tyres are matching premium Dunlop SP6 175/70 R13 tyres with ample tread. The remote servo-assistance brakes powered by the early Girling Powerstop AHV 550 Mk2B helps grip the front discs and rear drums adequately. HISTORY FILEBuilt at Fords Advanced Vehicle Operations factory in Aveley in October 1971, this vehicle has led the most incredible pampered existence with absolute enthusiasts. Highly regarded and registered with the both the AVO Owners Club and RS Owners Club, this example has won many prestigious awards during the 1980’s and 1990’s and is both an AVO National Day winner and RSOC National Day winner. Photos in the history file of the car at many events with trophies are a testament to the outstanding condition still witnessed today some 35 years later! A feature in Fast Ford magazine dated 1990 about long-term custodian, Les Harris, who has known the car from new when delivered to Ford RS Dealers, Whites of Taunton where he worked as a Ford mechanic. He recalls fellow mechanic and workshop foreman, Walter Miller, buying the car new and always wanted to be the next owner knowing it had always been serviced by Walter at the Ford main dealer. Les took the car to a concours level and after winning the Concours d ’Elegance at Longleat Ford Spectacular it was used to illustrate Graham Robson’s classic Ford feature. Historic photos, AVO Owners Club valuation, MOT certificates, book packs and brochures are just a few of the documents included along with a few valuable awards. The most recent agreed valuation dated December 2018 is for £60,000 and is now only available due to the current owners purchase of a Mk1 Ford Escort RS1600. MOT May 2024, HPI Clear. 1975 Morris Marina 10 cwt Pick-Up by KGF Classic Cars, on Flickr SOLD / 01733 425140 / 07976 935046 / sales@kgfclassiccars.co.uk
A miraculous Morris Marina 10 cwt pick-up, magazine featured and utterly lovely.EQUIPMENTAll steel delivery vehicle of unitary construction, hinged cab doors, anti-burst locks, hinged tailboard, zebra-zoned toughened windscreen, safety glass windows, chromium plated front bumper and rear quarter bumpers, chromium plated hub caps, driver and passenger door mirrors, rear load area tonneau, hardwood load area edge protection strips, driver and passenger seats, twin sun visors, fresh air heater with adjustable vents, vinyl trimmed door panels, hazard warning lamps, ashtray. Dealer fitted accessories; Towbar with single electric socket, Line-X coating. EXTERIORA commercial vehicle from British Leyland still in existence almost 50 years after being built, this incredibly rare Morris Marina 10 cwt pick-up is simply remarkable. Sourced from a fascinating private collection which included over 100 vehicles and no less than 40 Morris Marina’s, mostly commercials, this 1975 10 cwt pick-up is presented beautifully in Mineral Blue. The pick-up variant came only in one trim level which included all the extra equipment that was featured on the optional Deluxe Van model. This included chrome bumpers, passenger seat and sun visor and a heater. This restored example looks incredible with a bright uniform paint finish with only minor imperfections visible upon close inspection, commensurate with an older restoration. The chrome work is bright with only light tarnishing and genuine Lucas headlamps are fitted. The hardwood finishing to the load area is perfect as is the tonneau cover and lashing hooks. The ideal dare to be different classic commercial and a dream promotional vehicle! INTERIORRevert back to far a simpler era of motoring whereby manufacturers were even meaner to commercial vehicle drivers and the luxuries of a passenger seat and heater were factory cost options in many cases! Indeed, the Marina Van buyer had to stretch to the Deluxe model for such extravagance, which thankfully the pick-up had as standard along with other Deluxe features. The seats were professionally retrimmed at the time of restoration in plush light navy with piping and remain in superb condition. In fact, most of the interior was professionally reworked to include new headlining and refurbished dashboard. An innovative product called Line-X coating was used on the cab floor and load area floor and sides, the huge benefits of which are very durable protection against usage wear and the elements, a superb neat finish and better soundproofing. The ethos of everything you need and nothing else follows with the dashboard sparsely equipped. A wonderful piece of usable and practical nostalgia for many! ENGINE & TRANSMISSIONA 1275cc A-Series engine offers absolute mechanical simplicity and a plethora of parts availability, this pick-up is as easy to run and maintain as was the intention when new with power output quoted at 57bhp. The engine starts at the flick of the key and runs beautifully. The humble A-series looks slightly lost in the capacious engine bay but both the engine and ancillaries are beautifully clean as are the spotless inner wings and under bonnet paintwork. The engine has had a complete overhaul with hardened exhaust valve seats and bronze valve guides to run on unleaded. The four-speed gearbox with full synchromesh operates perfectly and this Marina pick-up certainly drives as good as it looks! WHEELS, TYRES & BRAKESCorrect heavy duty pressed-steel disc wheels are immaculate and painted in ivory with the original chromium hubcaps in superb condition. Matching Goodyear GT2 tyres have masses of tread and are fitted to all five wheels including the spare. The standard braking system is well maintained and incorporates servo assistance and 9in drums all-round. HISTORY FILERegistered new on the 3rd February 1975, the Austin Morris Passport to Service booklet records the supplying dealer as High Street Garage in Corsham and first registered keeper a firm called Pickwick Motor Works. In 2014 the pick-up was purchased by a Mr Page where it joined what is most likely the largest collection of Morris Marina’s in existence, most of which were Marina commercials. The collection had amassed to over 100 vehicles, 40 of which were Marina’s, and still to this day includes the famous Ford Capri 2.0S and Daimler Sovereign 4.2 Series III from the iconic TV show, Minder. In 2007 a classic car restoration specialist company were on the lookout for a vehicle to restore and promote their business. The Austin A35 and Mini Van were considered but having spotted this Marina pick-up and deciding it would be better suited to carrying larger body panels, it was purchased and the project began. A full strip down and restoration began where they were pleasantly surprised at just how good shape the vehicle was in. Following the full strip down with engine and gearbox out, the rebuild began including a professional repaint in Mineral instead of the Grey. No expense was spared and the process has been documented in detail including a total of 453.5 hours in labour alone! Furthermore, there are magazine features including Classic Van and pick-up as well as online features detailing the restoration. The history file is complete with the feature magazines, an original sales brochure and parts catalogue as well as the Passport to Service booklet, owner’s manual and dealer directory. An almost inconceivable survivor against the odds, this classic commercial is simply marvellous and one of the best! MOT May 2024, Tax Exempt and HPI Clear. INTERIORTrimmed in the standard flame retardant Black Cloth upholstery, (Code NA3), the interior is exactly how Mazda intended. Everything is co-ordinated and operates perfectly. The limited-edition numbered plaque revealing this as number 158 of 300 reminds the owner of the exclusivity of this model. Dealer fit MX-5 carpet mats show slight markings having offered protection from new. The classic sports dashboard houses a cluster of crystal-clear instruments that function precisely. WHEELS, TYRES & BRAKESThis exceptional Mazda has unique unmarked factory fitted 15inch alloy wheels with original Mazda emblem centre caps which show slight aging. Premium Firestone 195/50 R15 tyres with excellent tread remaining are fitted to all four corners. Powerful disc brakes all-round install maximum braking confidence. HISTORY FILESupplied new on the 1st August 1995 by Oxford Mazda, the car was first registered to ERM, (Environmental Resources Management), to their registered office in Cavendish Square, London. The car was ordered new by a Director of the company for his wife and the original Oxford Mazda order form and sales invoice confirms the price new of £16,345. In June 1999, the Director purchased the car from the company for the sum of £8,000 as confirmed by an invoice in the history file and ownership has remained with her since new. The large history folder contains the all-important California document wallet housing all handbooks, guides, dealership point of sale literature and the service book. A separate file holds the original welcome letters from Mazda, MOT certificates dating back to the first in 1998 and all service invoices. The most recent service was carried out in April 2023 along with a cambelt change. There are three sets of keys including the original grey master key. Husband and wife owners have enjoyed active membership of the MX-5 Owners Club and it is very clear the car has been dearly cherished. Virtually impossible to find in such an original low mileage unmolested condition, especially with the same owner! This car is sure to delight the collector and is perfectly suited to an enthusiast wanting to experience fun and reliable classic motoring, just as Mazda intended when new 28 years ago! 1973 Ford Escort Mk1 RS1600 by KGF Classic Cars, on Flickr SOLD / 01733 425140 / 07976 935046 / sales@kgfclassiccars.co.uk

A rare alloy block engine AVO Mk1 Ford Escort RS1600 with incredible history.MODEL HISTORYThe Potent Mix is how Ford initially marketed the RS1600. Sedate looks of the family Escort Saloon but with an amazing Cosworth-designed BDA, (Belt Drive type A), engine. Only 1,154 RS1600s were made with production initially alongside the Twin Cam at Halewood in January 1970 transferring to the new AVO, (Advanced Vehicle Operations), facility in Aveley from October 1970. From late 1972 this homologation special replaced its Kent iron cylinder block with a Brian Hart light alloy unit only fitted to the last of these models. Less than 150 alloy blocked cars were produced helping to continue the world-class competition wins in the hands of Rally greats such as Roger Clark and Timo Makinen. EQUIPMENTAdvanced Vehicle Operations (AVO) Type 49 body, front quarter bumpers, flared front wings, strengthened chassis rails, strengthened flitch plates, reinforced front suspension strut top mounting plates, rear radius rods, rear stone deflector, safety glass, anti-burst locks, black painted aluminium grille, reversing lamps, RS1600 wing badges, RS circular boot badge, six pod sports binnacle, leather rimmed sports steering wheel, heater fan, two speed wiper, courtesy light, washable plastic headlining, push-round ashtray. Factory Options; Quartz Iodine headlamps, locking fuel cap, inertia reel seat belts. EXTERIORThis AVO Club registered stunning example is finished in striking and build specification, Sebring Red, (Code N). A remarkable survivor featured in many Ford hardback reference books, it boasts its originality proudly and correctly as manufactured by Fords Advanced Vehicle Operations. Owned by knowledgeable AVO Club Members this example has only ever had sympathetic conservation work and has never been completely restored. This includes the underside with all the correct AVO workmanship visible and commensurate with the 73,000 miles covered. Optional Quartz Iodine headlamps remain fitted along with FoMoCo rear lenses and the original front quarter chrome bumpers and rear chrome bumper have a mirror finish. Discreet RS badges are present and fitted. Rarely does a genuine and correct RS1600 come to market, especially an alloy block version, arguably making this the ultimate Mk1 high performance Escort. INTERIORA Non-Custom cockpit fitted with Black padded GT-type seats, all in remarkable condition along with the rest of the interior. The leather rimmed RS three-spoke steering wheel, black headlining and L-design door cards are all undamaged. A genuine Mk1 Escort black carpet set replaced the original due to wear and all gauges and controls function along with the heater fan on both speed settings. The boot compartment is standard with the spare wheel correctly secured to the floor with the jack and wheel brace all within the hessian bag secured by a rubber strap. Marvellous. ENGINE & TRANSMISSIONVitally important, this example is a matching numbers example still fitted with the Brian Hart alloy cylinder block installed to the few later produced cars enabling an increase in cylinder capacity to two litres to keep the cars competitive. The legendary Cosworth-designed BDA engine also boasts a 16-valve alloy cylinder head with the correct later twin Dellorto carburettors. With a 1601cc engine producing 120bhp, 0-60mph is despatched in 8.9secs and a top speed of 113mph is quoted. The cleanliness and detail under the bonnet is remarkable with the original Ford chassis plate and Special Build Order body plate proudly on display. The original 4-speed 2000E heavy duty gearbox is a sheer delight with a short throw action and a precise change. WHEELS, TYRES & BRAKESExcellent and correct Silver Fox painted 5.5x13in spoke-style sports steel wheels are shod in Dunlop SP30 175/70 R13 tyres with ample tread. The remote servo-assistance brakes powered by the correct Girling Powerstop AHV 550 Mk2B helps grip the front discs and rear drums to offer by todays standards, fair braking performance. HISTORY FILEBelieved to be one of the earliest surviving alloy-blocked cars to leave Aveley, this rare non-Custom was built in February 1973 and registered on the 1st August 1973 by F English Ltd, Ford RS dealers, to Mr Malcom Cluett. It has absolute traceable history from new commencing with a letter Mr Cluett explaining how he ordered a Monza Blue RS1600 with optional Quartz Iodine headlamps and inertia reel seat belts and on collection was presented with this Sebring Red car, albeit with the correct options! He even took a photo of his brand new RS1600 and it looks identical today! Detailed notes on each subsequent owner with accompanying invoices each time it was sold make fascinating reading. One such owner, previous RSOC Secretary Kevin Shortis, made a detailed video of the car in 1986 now transferred to a CD! There are also many historic photos taken by proud owners. This rare example is very well known to both the Ford AVO Owners Club and Ford RS Owners Club and has been previously valued by William Arnold, the Club RS1600 Registrar. It attended AVO National Day in 2009, the only time the current custodian of 15 years Darren Peacock, showed the car where it won best RS1600 and the glass trophy in the presentation case will be passed to the next owner. The vehicle has featured in both Rallye News and HAVOC and even in hard back books including; RS The Faster Fords by Jeremy Walton and Factory-Original Sporting Mk1 Escorts by Dan Williamson. In the latter, it features on the front cover and numerous photos of the car are used as reference to correct and unique features. A signed copy of the book is included in the history file along with an original brochure, price guide and workshop manuals. With such a special, correct and well documented example of the iconic RS1600, this is the one to have. MOT Exempt, Tax Exempt, HPI Clear. 2001 Austin Rover Ledbury Maestro by KGF Classic Cars, on Flickr SOLD / 01733 425140 / 07976 935046 / sales@kgfclassiccars.co.uk

An astonishing Austin Rover Ledbury Maestro with only 4,701 miles. MODEL HISTORYThe Rover Ledbury Maestro, a fascinating car with a story to tell. Originally destined for assembly operations at the new Rover Groups Project Enterprise plant in Bulgaria, only 2,200 units in KD, (Knock Down), kits were produced ready to be exported. The plant was expected to produce 10,000 cars annually when built in 1994. The projects rapid demise due to advanced competition from other car makers and broken contractual agreements meant that 621 ‘cancelled export order’ Maestros mainly hatchbacks but some vans, left-hand drive and crated up in complete kit form were snapped up by the multi-millionaire boss and ex Formula One team owner, Paul Stoddart. His warehouse at a garage he owned in Herefordshire that he could convert to build the cars was called Parkway Services, it was in Ledbury, hence the name Ledbury Maestro. The conversion from left to right hand drive which involved a new dashboard, steering components, wipers and headlights. The first cars have R-reg plates but they’re available on anything up to a 51 plate and at the time they were sold for £4,995 making it Britain’s cheapest car. Source: Rover, Bulgaria, and an F1 team owner: The curious story of the Ledbury Maestro by James Foxall and Ledbury Maestro – Rodacar’s Bulgarian Austin by Keith Adams. EQUIPMENTBolt-on wings, laminated windscreen, childproof rear locks, locking fuel cap, internally adjustable door mirrors, digital clock, illuminated cigar lighter, manual choke with warning lamp, heated rear window, rear wash/wipe, height adjustable seatbelts, rear seatbelts, twin swivelling sun visors with docket pockets, two speed wipers with intermittent and flick-wipe, lockable glovebox, rake-adjustable front seats, coat hooks, coin tray, ash tray. Dealer accessories; Genuine Rover rubber overmats. EXTERIORAvailable in only three colours; White Diamond, Flame Red and Midnight Blue, as in this example, being the rarest of the trio. A beautiful gloss finish is a testament to the miniscule miles covered, pampered low ownership and indoor storage. Based on Clubman specification but without a sunroof, the 5dr design is practical and roomy with bundles of nostalgic charm. The silver pinstripe is still fitted and the front screen has minor delamination to the corners. The Ledbury cars use suspension designed for the diesel model with its heavier engine given them better ground clearance for the shocking state of late-1990s Bulgarian roads. Present at many classic car shows, this example is used to pulling in the crowds! INTERIOR Simple and very functional the Flint coloured seats with Sports Crayons facing and interior trim is in excellent condition. Room for five adults with a generous boot for luggage, 60/40 split rear seats and large glass area allows for enjoyable family outings. Ledbury experts will be aware of some trim differing in shade due to the nature of assembly and the km/h speedo despite being RHD! The boot area is very clean complete with jack and tools and the BNNNN chassis tag which is correctly tag-welded to the boot floor. Unique and fascinating. ENGINE & TRANSMISSIONThe renown 1.3 litre A-plus engine needs little introduction and is legendary for its driveability and excellent economy, this low mileage example being no exception. The 62bhp feels spirited, is quiet and offers very low maintenance costs. Performance figures are quoted at a top speed of 98mph and 0-60mph in 13.2secs. The VW derived five-speed gear box is precise and light. WHEELS, TYRES & BRAKES 14in steel rims with full width wheel trims have a few barely noticeable marks and are shod in Goodyear GT 175/70 R14 tyres with excellent tread. The diagonally split dual-circuit hydraulic brakes with servo assistance offer strong stopping power. HISTORY FILERegistered brand new on the 3rd January 2001 by Parkway Prestige Garage in Ledbury before long-term custodian Mr Cottle purchased it on the 11th January 2001. In his prized care until 2020 and used solely for pleasure and strictly garaged at all other times. Only two further British Leyland Austin Rover enthusiasts subsequently, this example is a rare and preserved part of Maestro history. Gracing the classic car shows and always a topic of interesting conversation! All handbooks, spare keys, brochures are included in the history file along with documented invoices for works and historic MOT certificates warranting the miniscule 4,701 miles covered. A whisper quiet 70bhp with excellent fuel economy and reliability is a joy. The engine bay is immaculate and displays factory stickers, labels and bulkhead VIN stamp. Gear changes via the 5-speed manual box are light and precise, affirming once more the cars ultra-low mileage credentials and pampered existence. WHEELS, TYRES & BRAKESThe factory 13in steel wheels wear the original and correct full width wheel trims which remain as new with no damage. Brand new brand tyres were fitted in 2023 and have covered less than 700 miles and an additional set of period Dunlop 155S SR13 steel belted radial tyres come with the car and could be fitted ready for the show circuit. The jack and wheel brace remain in the polystyrene holder. Diagonally split and dual-circuit servo assisted brakes offer assured straight-line stopping power. HISTORY FILESupplied new on the 1st June 1988 to Miss Hester Estella, a retired headmistress who taught at schools in the West Midlands and Wolverhampton. The history file contains an article from the Mail Online who report she unfortunately died aged 90 after burglars trick their way into her home in 2012. According to Bridgnorth-based Perry & Phillips, a firm of auctioneers who sold the car as part of the deceased owners estate, it was serviced and MOT’d every year with the annual mileage nothing more than one return trip to the main dealer! Since this point, the car has been enthusiast owned attending numerous shows and winning awards such as the Best Rover 200/400 at the British Leyland Autumn Rally and Best Modern Rover. An article in the November 2013 Classic Car Mart publication features the car, a copy of which is in the history file. Sold by KGF Classic Cars in early 2023, the new owners adored the car and kept it strictly garaged and for dry use only. It even attended the legendary 2023 Hagerty Festival of the Unexceptional and was invited in the exclusive Concours de L'Ordinaire category! When the owners spotted another low mileage gem at KGF Classic Cars a part exchange was agreed and it now is ready for the next lucky custonian. Handbooks, owner’s manuals, previous registration documents, spare keys and even Trilby Panama hats for show days are included! There is a large neatly presented file with invoices, previous MOT records, photographs and an original range sales brochure. One for the Rover collector and avid enthusiast to preserve and treasure. A genuine AVO Mk1 Ford Escort Mexico with historic National Day awards.EQUIPMENTAdvanced Vehicle Operations (AVO) Type 49 body, front quarter bumpers, flared wheel arches, strengthened chassis rails, strengthened flitch plates, reinforced front suspension strut top mounting plates, rear radius rods, safety glass, anti-burst locks, black painted aluminium grille, six pod sports binnacle, heater fan, two speed wiper, courtesy light. Factory fitted options; Cigar lighter, Custom Pack – nylon seats, sound deadening material, RS centre console with Kienzle clock, varnished wood trim panels, reclining RS type contoured front seats, heated rear window. Dealer Special Build Programme; RS wiper blade wind deflector. EXTERIORFinished in brilliant Diamond White this genuine Mexico is stunning. Detailing extending to the underside and engine bay will please both owners and onlookers. Vital components such as the rear stone deflector held in by eight bolts in the boot floor and strengthened AVO workmanship are laid bare for all to see. The chrome, glass, and badges are in immaculate order with much of the glass still number plate etched. Some splits exist to the front and rear glass rubber. A few historic markings have been constantly present during the last 23 years of ownership and never prevented the car finishing in the top ten since 2004 at the prestigious Ford AVO National Days. A second place at the 2013 event being a true testament to the striking condition. INTERIORTrue and exact in every respect to a Ford Mexico Custom Pack interior with hidden attention to detail beyond belief. Removing the pristine door cards will reveal components carefully removed, refurbished and painted. This theme is painstakingly continued throughout. The rare Kienzle clock housed within an uncut RS centre console joins all the other fully operational sports instrumentation providing at a glance concise information. The brushed nylon RS sports seats with optional headrests and button RS logos match a spotless loop pile carpet throughout. Only the varnished wood trim panel to the dash facia shows slight fade in an otherwise perfect interior. The boot area continues the showroom experience with unused tools complete with stickers neatly wrapped in the hessian bag resting on an impossible to source genuine unmarked boot mat. ENGINE & TRANSMISSIONOnlookers will marvel under the bonnet of this Escort Mexico as it is so clean. The GT crossflow unit with the 711M block has been worked on by renown Vulcan Engineering with the aim of originality in their costly 110 Spec upgrade including conversion of the cylinder head to run on unleaded. Photos of the stripped engine are in the history file. Near impossible to source and correct components grace this engine from the obvious Fomoco radiator to the inconspicuous dipstick bracket. Expect performance of the 1660cc engine to easily match the quoted 85bhp with 0 to 60mph in 10.7 seconds and a top speed over 100mph. The 4-speed synchromesh gearbox was fully rebuilt in by BGH Geartech Ltd with an aluminium bell housing and AP heavy duty clutch proving perfect changes every time. WHEELS, TYRES & BRAKESThis car it is fitted with the spoke style sculptured pressed steel wheels measuring 5.5x13in finished in Silver Fox with plain stainless steel hubcaps all bright. New Michelin 165 HR13 have been fitted. Optional Minilite Sport Alloys, as available through the Ford Dealer Special Build Programme, are available as an alternative. A pressed steel spare is strapped and angled in the boot. The vacuum servo-assistance brakes run on the standard single line braking system with M16 front calipers on solid discs and Lockheed 9” rear brakes. HISTORY FILEBuilt at Fords Advanced Vehicle Operations factory in Aveley in July 1973 this vehicle has only had seven owners from new. The third owner, Mr Farris joined the AVO club in 1979 and this rare car became the 50th Mexico to be added to the register. A beautiful catalogue of history accompanies the vehicle with detailed photographs taken each time any work has been carried out. This encompasses a 14 week engine rebuild in 1983 as featured in HAVOC, (The AVO Owners Club publication) to a bare metal respray in 2002, to a recent CD file revealing intricate detailing work such as the removal and refurbishment of the fuel tank amongst other things. An extensive collection of invoices, MOT certificates and home produced technical specification sheets are included. The original owner literature including the Escort Mexico Owner’s Handbook encased in the A5 Ford Sure wallet remains with the spare keys. A previous owner has requested, after making the difficult decision to part with the car, that all trophies, medals, plaques and crystal awards remain with him as a memento of his tremendous efforts. Sold by KGF Classic Cars in 2013 and again in 2016, we are delighted to offer this vehicle a third time to the next discerning collector and Blue Oval enthusiast. MOT April 2024, HPI Clear. Alternatively If you’d like to move your vehicle on quickly and efficiently with minimal delay then we can make an offer on an outright purchase basis with payment and collection arranged soon after.
A box fresh Mitsubishi Lancer 1.6 GLXi Estate with one owner and 5,770 miles!EQUIPMENTColour keyed bumpers, side protector mouldings and door handles, black roof rails, driver’s airbag, door impact bars, high-mount stop lamp, tinted windows, power assisted steering, remote central door locking, halogen headlamps, luggage tonneau, luggage hooks, electric one-touch anti-trapping door windows all round, electric sunroof, air-conditioning, courtesy lamps, Philip RC559 stereo/cassette. Dealer accessories; Star Style alloy wheels, locking wheel nuts, mud flaps front and rear, Sigma M34 alarm/immobiliser, Mitsubishi rubber mats, carpeted over mats, spare bulb set, touch-up paint, Bodyglaze paintwork protection. EXTERIORDare to be different with this modern classic sixth generation Mitsubishi Lancer boasting just one owner and a mere 5,770 miles from new, fully verified by a huge full-service history file! Finished in factory original Palma Red, (Code P85), the paintwork is quite exceptional. The bright uniform finish mirrors the cars ultra-low mileage credentials and all panels are beautifully straight with perfect shut lines. Even close scrutiny fails to reveal any paintwork imperfections worthy of mention and all trim sections, glass, lights and badges are pristine. The one and only owner opted for expensive Bodyglaze paintwork protection when the car was new and paid for it to be re-applied routinely thereafter. Further originality can be seen in the supplying Mitsubishi dealer number plates and tax disc holder. The underside is in superb preserved condition. A rare car even when new, this example is possibly the best one left in existence! INTERIORThis showroom fresh Mitsubishi Lancer interior defies its age and is beautifully clean. The Grey Cloth trim, (Code 81W), is in perfect condition with absolutely no visible wear or staining whatsoever. The door cards and fully carpeted luggage area complete with roller blind tonneau are all as new. An immaculate fascia houses precision feel controls and switchgear, all working perfectly including the ice-cold air conditioning. The steering wheel and gear knob display prominent natural veins found only on uber-low mileage examples. Tailored genuine Lancer rubber floor mats with an additional set of carpeted over mats have protected the carpet from new. The headlining is spotlessly clean and become unstuck not impeding the drivers view whatsoever. The pristine luggage area houses the full toolkit and jack as well as the spare bulb set and locking wheel nut case. As close to a brand-new example as you could ever wish for. ENGINE & TRANSMISSIONA byword for Japanese reliability is the sturdy 1597cc SOHC 16v petrol engine fitted to this GLXi example. Performance figures are quoted at 111bhp and 137Nm of torque to achieve 115mph top speed and 0-62mph in 10.2 seconds. The pristine engine bay affirms its low mileage credentials with factory data plates to the bulkhead and bonnet underside as well as the bulkhead chassis stamp. All original labels and factory PDI dabs have remained untouched and even the under-bonnet paintwork has a mirror finish! The engine is whisper quiet and the 5-speed manual transmission is tight and precise. WHEELS, TYRES & BRAKESRare dealer optional Star Style alloy wheels are unrestored and immaculate with no damage or imperfections and shod in factory fitted 175/70 R13 Dunlop SP Sport 200 tyres to further uphold total originality. The space saver underslung spare wheel has never been used. The braking system with 7.3in ventilated front discs and 7.1in rear drums operate perfectly. HISTORY FILERegistered new on the 8th December 2000 by Mitsubishi Main Dealer, Humming Bird Motors Ltd on Regents Park Road in London, this stunning example has covered a genuine 5,770 miles from new with one owner, Mr Reynolds. Having purchased the car in retirement, the new car order form and sales invoice confirm the dealer optional extras and purchase price of £9,355.81. Mr Reynolds cherished his Lancer with strict garage storage and whilst mileage use was minimal, the car was regularly used and routinely taken for MOT each and every year. Absolutely all MOT certificates date back to the first in 2003 and a full-service history verify the mileage, as does the original service book. Mr Reynolds was hugely fastidious about his approach to car ownership as can be seen in the frankly mind-bogglingly huge box of paperwork with incredibly detailed notes. Said notes which began even before he purchased the Mitsubishi whereby a table of detailed comparables pitch the Lancer against his previous car, a Skoda Felicia! Several separate larger folders categorise the service history and thorough perusal would literally consume hours. There are letters between Mr Reynolds and Humming Bird Motors Ltd whereby he expressed his delight with the car and he even kept a log of every journey with notes on destination, premium fuel purchases and MPG achieved. There are two Mitsubishi keys with remote fobs and dealer key rings and a Lancer sales and separate accessories brochure. This one owner example is probably the most original and low mileage example in existence and a serious champion contender for the Festival of the Unexceptional! MOT December 2023, HPI Clear. 1955 Triumph TR3 by KGF Classic Cars, on Flickr SOLD / 01733 425140 / 07976 935046 / sales@kgfclassiccars.co.uk
A unique ‘Works’ designated Triumph TR3 with exceptional historic provenance.EQUIPMENTMohair hood, side screens and full/rear tonneau covers, detachable front screen, central stop lamp, 5in tachometer and speedometer, fuel, water temperature, ammeter and oil pressure gauges, button starter, scuttle ventilator, panel lights, glove locker, door pockets. Optional Extras; Electrically operated overdrive, Lucas auxiliary lamps, Desmo chrome door mirror, stainless steel luggage rack, leather bonnet/boot straps, knock-on type wire wheels, 16 Jewel Ingersoll Triumph day clock, Agat stop watches X2, Mike Lempert wooden steering wheel. EXTERIORThis highly collectable very early TR3 Works car is finished in Signal Red and looks fetching at any angle. All the chrome, accessories and very expensive mohair all-weather equipment is in excellent order. Enjoyed immensely for touring and top revival meets the perfection seeking owner will find signs of use but make no mistake, this car is very smart and used to the show circuit! Documented expenditure from its total restoration by the late Brian Lofts in 1988 totals £71,602.78 and reveals the care lavished on this show stopper. A remarkable established tourer. INTERIORA well-appointed interior finished in Stone leather has all the qualities of a traditional sports tourer with bucket type seats, thick pile carpeting and working Jaeger instrumentation. The correct chromed grab handle and rear view mirror is supplemented by period accessories such as Agat stop watches and a Mike Lempert wooden steering wheel. Spotlessly clean, the seats have been upgraded by the previous owner at significant cost in 2021 and sourced from Ridguard Classic Seats, although the original seats and runners have been kept and are included with the car. A complementary interior used to publicity from new. ENGINE & TRANSMISSIONThe original engine remains fitted having completed a full documented engine rebuild enjoying the benefits of unleaded fuel use and 87mm bore pistons and liners as per the works rally cars. Modern enhancements such as a high-torque starter, an alternator and electronic ignition improve reliability and use but nice period touches such as the glass and Bakelite electric windscreen washer bottle remain. The single dry plate hydraulically operated clutch enables smooth progress through the 4-speed gearbox and the optional overdrive snaps in instantly. A real pleasure. WHEELS, TYRES & BRAKESImmaculate and optional knock-on type chrome wire wheels are shod in branded 155 SR15 tyres with ample tread. The separate lockable compartment houses a spare. The Wilwood 4 piston calipers previously fitted to the car have been replaced by a standard front disc and rear drum set up in order to qualify for competing in historic rallies. HISTORY FILETruly exceptional. Built by the Standard Motor Company Limited on Wednesday 26th October 1955 at 11.30am, just 15 days into Triumph TR3 production, and sent to the works teaching and PR section. This matching numbers car registered as SWK 772 can be seen in early photos promoting the Stanley Baker motor sport-themed thriller, Checkpoint. An overwhelming, articulate and chronically filed history reveals ownership tales, competition foils, expenditure logs totalling tens of thousands of pounds and many literature entries. These include an extensive feature in the widely respected Triumph TR guru, Bill Piggot and his book ‘Triumph TR2, 3 &3A in Detail’, a copy of which is included. A previous owner who purchased the vehicle from Hurst Park Automobiles Ltd for £39,000 commissioned a hard copy book entitled, ‘A Car of its Time’ dedicated solely to this car and its fascinating past. Efforts in the making also traced the original owner who was reunited with the car some 55 years after purchasing it with photos taken in the same location both in 1957 and 2014! A brief outline of this cars timeline can be found on the following link. drive-my.com/en/retro-carss/item/1857-life-cycle-triumph-tr3.htmlIn 2015 the car was sold by KGF Classic Cars to Mr Pollitt who has certainly continued this TR3’s amazing history and life story! Used enthusiastically in classic car tours and FIVA registered historic rallies, the car was even used in the opening ceremony for the Birmingham 2022 Commonwealth Games and subsequently featured on BBC News! A naughty little Vauxhall Rascal Van with just 23,763 miles from new.EQUIPMENTAll-steel welded integral construction, right and left hand sliding side-loading doors, laminated windscreen, 2-speed windscreen wipers, electric screenwash, twin door mirrors, twin tailgate struts, locking fuel filler, front and rear mud flaps, high back reclining seats, hinge-down glove box, door map pockets, cab interior light, load compartment lamp, 3-speed fan, twin sunvisors, cab entry assist handles, cigar lighter, full length headlining, cab rubber floor covering. Factory options; Grundig 304 AM/FM radio, telescopic A-pillar aerial, heated rear window, tailgate wash/wipe. Dealer accessories; Genuine Vauxhall load compartment barrier, cargo area ply-lined. EXTERIORThese original Vauxhall and Bedford light vans are virtually extinct in any form, let alone in such incredibly preserved and time warp condition. Finished in its factory coating of Breeze Blue, (Code 15L), the paintwork boasts a deep polished shine and uniform finish with original decals fully intact. A few very small dings and light chips to the factory paint are entirely forgiven considering this is an unrestored commercial vehicle, the majority of which were used, abused and thrashed. The underside is clean and free from excess underseal to allow easy inspection and appreciate just how well preserved this example is including factory spot welds clearly defined in areas such as the wheels arches and sills. Pleasing to see are the supplying dealer number plates, tax-disc holder, registration etched glass and rear screen sticker all still fitted. The supplying dealer, Robin Hood Garage, tailgate decal has also survived! Having covered a mere 23,763 miles and used clearly for light duties, this surely has to be one of the most privileged and cossetted Rascals in existence! Despite the tiny dimensions, an impressive capacity of 2.65 cubic metres and maximum load of 590kg is quoted making this capable cheeky commercial ideal for business advertising and a superb marketing tool! INTERIORThe interior of this remarkable example is virtually perfect and exactly as a Rascal should be. The Basalt Grey Twill cloth seat trim, (Code 821), is unmarked and completely free from wear, as is the matching colour scheme Basalt Grey vinyl door trim. The full length headlining is flawless with no rips or tears from bulky loads! The original rubber floor covering can be lifted easily to inspect the cab floor which is incredibly well preserved, as are the usually rust prone front steps and inner arches. The fascia and switchgear are perfect and all functions and controls operate seamlessly including the Grundig 304 AM/FM radio. The rear load area has clearly seen very little use and has been protected by a genuine Vauxhall load compartment barrier as well as ply-lining. The original toolkit is complete in the glovebox. A truly outstanding interior reminiscent of a 1991 Vauxhall/Bedford van dealership! ENGINE & TRANSMISSIONThe simple and robust four-cylinder 970cc Suzuki sourced engine develops 45bhp to achieve a top speed of 73mph. This wonderful little engine offers simplicity and economy with both seats easily tilted to allow complete access to the engine compartment which is very clean with all stickers and plates intact. The original jack and wheel brace are correctly stored in the engine compartment and jack handle clipped to the front inner bulkhead. The five-speed gearbox is precise and driving this exceptionally low mileage Rascal is an absolute joy with smiles guaranteed! WHEELS, TYRES & BRAKESThe standard 4B x 12 steel wheels in factory correct white are in brilliant condition and complete with the original centre caps. Five matching branded and commercial rated 155 R12C tyres have masses of tread remaining. Dual circuit servo assisted brakes feature 215mm front discs and 220mm rear drums all of which are well maintained and perform as intended. HISTORY FILESupplied new by Vauxhall Main Dealer, Robin Hood Garage in Penge, this example was registered new on 14th August 1991 to first owner Mr Goff whereby hire purchase documentation and welcome letters at the point of sale confirm the new van price of £6,500. This remarkable preserved example has covered just 23,763 miles from new and the condition inside and out is entirely reflective of this, as is the superb driving experience. The original Robin Hood Garage document wallet houses all handbooks, supplements and radio guide as well as the original service book. A service and coolant flush as well as full safety inspection and rear brake overhaul was carried out in March 2023. Completing the history file is two sets of GM keys and a Vauxhall Rascal range and accessories brochure. Personal inspection really is the only way to fully appreciate just how special this little Rascal is and any trip to a classic car show will result in much admiration and nostalgic praise!
