An untouched Ford Fiesta Mk1 XR2 with just 26,514 miles and one owner! EQUIPMENTLouvred design radiator grille with aerofoil section, aerodynamic front and rear black spoilers, black wheelarch extensions, twin body coloured doors mirrors, special XR2 bodyside decal treatments, extended black window surround paint, storage compartment under rear-floor, laminated windscreen, Ford P21 push button stereo, two speed plus intermittent wipe, tailgate wash/wipe, heated rear window, tachometer, trip recorder, driving lamps, soft feel special steering wheel, perforated ‘Cool Black’ headlining, digital header mounted clock, loadspace carpet, cigar lighter, illuminated interior controls. Dealer options: Ziebart rust proofing treatment, Ford rubber floor mats. EXTERIORThis unrepeatable sporting Fiesta XR2 boasts truly amazing credentials and is finished in striking Sunburst Red, (Code P1). The factory paintwork is bright, uniform and displays a fantastic unmolested finish, impossible to recreate and lost on first paint. All factory fitted panels are straight with linear gaps. There are various light markings such as touched in stone chips to the bonnet and tiny dings left strictly untouched so as to uphold originality. The conscientious owner, upon ordering the car in 1983, paid an extra £109 for Ziebart rust proofing treatment, from which the original Ziebart hole plugs are visible along with the rear window sticker. The door edges have been protected by plastic strips still attached. All other decals are original Ford fitment and have remained in exceptional preserved condition, as have all further trim sections and badges. The correct Ford Hella rear lenses and spot lamps, and the Lucus H4 headlamps remain fitted, along with original supplying Ford dealer number plates, rear screen sticker and tax disc holder. An iconic sporting Ford left exactly as intended, truly special. INTERIORThe interior in this remarkable example remains in beautiful untouched condition, even down to the working Ford P21 push button stereo and original Ford rubber floor mats. The ‘Storm’ and Crushed Velour interior in Shark Grey, (Code KW), is immaculate. The Shark Grey loop pile carpet is spotless as are the Grey Mylar sidewall and rear quarter finishers. The red laser line around the instrument binnacle is vibrant and the soft finish dashboard is perfect. The unworn steering wheel and gear knob have prominent veins. The devoted owner even kept the sunvisor hung cold and hot starting instructions still attached! All switchgear is functional and the original trimmed parcel shelf is straight and complete with the correct rubber hangers. Paranoid of being shunted in the rear by another car, the owner installed high level brake lights in 1990 and these are easily removed if desired. A delightfully period unspoilt interior, reminiscent of the 1980’s hot hatch phenomenon. ENGINE & TRANSMISSIONThe time proven transverse mounted 1600 OHV engine with Weber twin-venturi carburettor develops an ample 84BHP, which in such a lightweight and nimble car achieves a top speed of 105mph and 0-60 in just 9.3 seconds. As part of the Ziebart rust proofing the engine compartment has been treated. The four speed synchromesh gearbox with remote shift is light and exact. A real ‘smile on your face’ experience. WHEELS, TYRES & BRAKESSpecial ‘pepperpot’ 13” X 6” alloy wheels, as with the rest of the car, have never been refurbished and display prominent Ford emblems and manufacture raised markings. A few light markings are visible. The spare alloy wheel still wrapped in the original Pirelli P6 rubber sits in the boot wheel housing which incorporates the correct ‘bulged’ rear lower valance designed to accommodate the enlarged alloy wheel compared with lower Fiesta models. The dual line servo assisted brakes with ventilated 9.4” front discs and 7.0” rear drums bring the car up to a steady, straight and assured halt. HISTORY FILERegistered new on 10th January 1983 by Ford Main Dealer, Polar Motors of Bradford, this exceptionally special example has covered just 26,514 miles with one owner from new. Both blue and red V5 documents list zero former keepers. A new car sales invoice made out to Mr Phillip Bramhall confirms the purchase price of £5,485.70 less £1,050 for a Mini 1275 taken in part exchange. The Ziebart guarantee certificate dated 7th January 1983, three days prior to registration, has also been kept. The owner’s handbook is present and the original service booklet contains seven stamped entries covering the early years up to the mileage of 15,500. Previous MOT certificates dating as far back as 1987 and a collection of invoices fully verify the low mileage. Two main Ford keys operate the ignition and all locks and both original petrol cap keys are present. Supplying Dealer key fobs are included. The decision to leave this example in its preserved state and as the day it was driven away from Polar Motors or remove the Ziebart treatment and carry out minor body repairs to make concours is not a decision KGF Classic Cars feels privileged to make. We would rather let the second owner decide, at no cost, in the knowledge that KGF Classic Cars will gladly carry out the necessary works. MOT September 2018, HPI Clear. EXTERIORThe legendary Ford Capri 2.8 Injection needs no introduction, and amongst the most special of cars is the Turbo Technics conversion, a semi-official recognised and very highly regarded Ford upgrade. This exceptional example is finished in Ford Cardinal Red, (Code R2), boasting a stunning deep gloss shine and uniform finish. The outstanding paintwork is virtually unmarked with only one tiny mark to the offside rear wing. The underside is detailed heaven and all trims pieces and decals are near perfect. A beautifully presented example of the iconic and very rare Turbo Technics Capri with full X Factor! INTERIORThe interior of this 2.8 Injection Special evokes a sense of true nostalgia with the supportive Recaro seats looking fantastic finished in the grey high-grade leather with ‘Strobe’ pattern fabric centre panels. The driver’s outer bolster is firm and fully intact with only very light wear. The deep pile grey carpeting is spotless as are the door cards and original parcel shelf which are straight and uncut. Incredibly, the dashboard has no cracks and all controls and switchgear are excellent. A sought after digital Ford radio cassette is fitted, (not connected), with a modern item professionally installed in the glove box. Correct and neatly fixed Turbo Technics boost control switch and boost gauge are a hint as to the under bonnet workings! ENGINE & TRANSMISSIONTurbo Technics, was founded in 1981 by Geoffrey Kershaw who’s most famous development prior was the Saab Turbo of the 1970’s. The firm developed a turbo conversion based on Ford SVE’s Capri 2.8 Injection, from which standard car credentials of 158bhp, 130mph top speed and 0-60mph in 7.9 seconds were significantly improved upon with this full F16 kit to develop 230bhp, (a notable increase on the standard F9 200bhp kit which achieved 143mph top speed and 0-60mph in 6.5 seconds). A Turbo Technics plate affixed to the inner nearside wing in the spotless engine bay confirms the conversion carried out by them in 1987 complete with serial number. The uprated 5 speed gearbox is direct and progression through the range is effortless thanks to a full rebuild in March 2015 as featured on the Kings Lynn Capri Club website. WHEELS, TYRES & BRAKESThis Capri is fitted with upgraded 7J x 15 7-spoke 280 Brooklands alloy wheels in perfect condition and with genuine RS centre caps. Matching Yokohama 195/50 R15 tyres have masses of tread remaining. The hydraulic dual-line servo-assisted brakes with ventilated front discs and uprated four-pot callipers stop the car quickly and in a straight line thanks to a recent documented overhaul. HISTORY FILERegistered new on 1st September 1983, the supplying Ford Main Dealer was C.H. Soans and Sons of Leamington Spa. When the car was less than four years old it was taken to Turbo Technics in Northampton for their specialist Engineers to carry out the full blown Type F16 conversion, a very expensive upgrade from the standard F9 kit. The Turbo Technics information plate affixed to the inner nearside wing confirms the completion date by them of the 1st June 1987. There are Turbo Technics invoices for service work and parts dating back to 1994 with the most recent being maintenance work carried out by them in 2015 to the sum of £1032 to help offer piece of mind. This includes upgrades supplied by them in order to keep up with company developments including a TT200 turbocharger. Furthermore, a colossal history file contains many receipts and invoices throughout as well as MOT certificates dating back to the early 1990’s. In 1995 the vehicle was subject to an insurance claim but was put back on the road after light repairs. Continually enjoyed until 2009/10 when the car was subject to an incredible full strip down and rebuild. The very best donor vehicle was sourced and one that had never been welded and was completely free from rust. A CD ROM fully documents the build with 100’s of photographs showing meticulous removal and refurbishment of individual components as well as painstaking detailing of the underside and engine compartment. The current owner, Mr Justin Cook, has enjoyed the show circuit with the car since and is a highly respected member of the Kings Lynn Capri Club with the car featuring extensively on their website. Completing the history file is the original service book, handbooks and operating guides as well as comprehensive Turbo Technics original literature. An exhilarating machine in every respect. Austin Metro City 310 Van by KGF Classic Cars, on Flickr SOLD / 01733 425140 / 07976 935046 / sales@kgfclassiccars.co.uk
Thinking of selling? Our proven commission sale or SOR (Sale or Return) program is a great way to utilise and access our professional services and facilities while still maximising the return from your vehicle with minimal hassle, stress and time, If you’d like to take advantage of this then please get in touch for further information. Alternatively If you’d like to move your vehicle on quickly and efficiently with minimal delay then we can make an offer on an outright purchase basis with payment and collection arranged soon after.
Possibly the best existing Austin Metro City 310 Van with just 17,156 miles.EQUIPMENTAll steel unitary construction, anti-burst locks, grey rolled steel bumpers, zinc primed body, hydragas suspension, integral front spoiler, locking fuel filler, twin black door mirrors, rear wash/wipe, laminated windscreen, twin sun visors with docket pockets, high lift tailgate, heated rear window, brake pad warning indicator, trip recorder. Van features; Full steel loadspace bulkhead with welded mesh upper section, steel loadfloor extension, load space side panel protection, loadspace lamp, 310kg payload. Factory options; Vinyl seat facings. EXTERIORThis virtually extinct Metro City 310 Van is preserved to an incredible standard and the factory applied White Diamond paintwork, (Code NMN), is amazing with only very faint imperfections visible. Worthy of mention are a tiny ding to the driver’s door and one to the offside rear arch. The underside is free from heavy application of underseal to allow inspection of the vehicles structural integrity. All trim sections are pristine and the 310 boot lid badge remains fitted along with supplying dealer number plates, tax disc holder and rear screen sticker. The rear load area is unbelievably clean for an unrestored example and the boot floor hatch conceals the spare wheel along with the original jack, wheel brace and tyre lever all still in the Styrofoam moulding! With just three devoted keepers from new, this has to be the luckiest Metro van ever made! INTERIORWonderfully sparse yet functional, this really is everything you need and nothing else! The seats are trimmed in factory optional Flint Vinyl, (Code LCG), with matching door cards and vinyl floor coverings. It is hard to justify describing the cabin space as anything other than perfect with absolutely no wear to the seats or flooring. The fascia, headlining and switchgear are all flawless, and what little equipment there is operates exactly as it should. The exceptionally low mileage is proven with the steering wheel and gear knob retaining all texture and definition. Guaranteed to stir up fond nostalgia, it is impossible not to sit in the driver’s seat and smile. ENGINE & TRANSMISSIONThe legendary and time proven A-plus engine of 1275cc displacement needs no introduction with robust simple mechanics and excellent parts availability. Producing a spirited 62bhp and 72 lb/ft of torque, this spritely Metro can hold its own in modern traffic and is tremendous fun with Mini like road manners. The clean engine bay displays factory plates and stickers, and stampings to the factory panels are clearly visible. The four speed all synchromesh gearbox delivers light and exact changes with the feel of a very low mileage example. WHEELS, TYRES & BRAKESThe standard steel wheels in superb order remain with the car and are shod in the factory supplied and commercial vehicle specific Michelin TDXE 160/65 R315 tyres. Whilst excellent tread remains, renewal prior to regular use is advisable. The dual circuit hydraulic brake system with circuit failure monitor pull the car up quickly and safely. HISTORY FILEA well-known example within the Metro Owners Club and the subject of a main feature in the August 2015 edition of Classic Van and Pick-up magazine, this Metro Van is very special. Supplied new by Austin Rover Main Dealers, Lex Rover of Cheltenham, this 1989/1990 model year example was kept at the dealership until being registered on 6th July 1992. The first owner, an elderly gentleman Mr Harry Chadwick, purchased the van having driven commercial vehicles throughout his working life and preferring them to cars. Mr Chadwick kept the van, always dry stored, for over 20 years at which point the second keeper, Mr Simeon Akister, purchased it to remind him of his student days driving one whilst working for a hotel in the Lake District. Sold by KGF Classic Cars to an opticians who used the vehicle sparingly for advertising purposes this vehicle is now ready for the next lucky custodian. The history file is comprehensive with the original Lex Rover plastic wallet containing all original handbooks, guides and point of sale literature, even down to the salesman’s business cards and the welcome letters from Rover. A large collection of invoices and old MOT certificates provide just an insight to just how well cared for this van is. Exceptionally rare in any condition, this wonderful Metro 310 Van is unrepeatable in such preserved state and represents a delightful slice of motoring history along with legends such as the Morris Mini Van and Morris Pick-up. 1982 Renault 9 TLE Phase 1 by KGF Classic Cars, on Flickr SOLD / 01733 425140 / 07976 935046 / sales@kgfclassiccars.co.uk
A magnifique Phase 1 Renault 9 TLE with an incredible 8,844 miles from new.EQUIPMENTAerodynamic wrap-around polyester bumpers, rubberised side mouldings, rubberised rear spoiler, progressive collapse zones, heated rear window, remote control driver’s door mirror, locking petrol cap, front, rear and centre arm rests, reclining front seats, arc adjustment of front seats, front headrests, vanity mirrors, map reading light, illuminated cigar lighter, headlamp level adjust, Kienzle quartz clock, engine oil level indicator, rev counter, rheostat, fuel level warning light. Dealer accessories; Renault Boutique Alloy wheels, front fog lamps, mud flaps. EXTERIORThis delightful and super chic Renault 9 is finished in the original colour of Black, (Code 694) and is a very rare surviving Phase 1 model. European Car of the Year in 1982, this example has covered just 8,884 miles from new having been won in a Renault ‘Fit the Piece’ National Draw in 1982! Preserved in long term storage, the structural condition is superb and whilst presentable there is evidence of less than perfect paintwork rectification and amateur touch ups, carried out due to sun damage where the car lived for many years. All trim pieces are intact and well preserved with only light aging to the rear spoiler noteworthy. This high specification TLE model is sure to delight fans of the diamond badged French manufacturer! INTERIORThe interior of this well specified TLE model is in excellent condition. The velour upholstery in Sand colour scheme is immensely comfortable, a classic characteristic of Renault and unworn owing to the ultra-low mileage. Again there is mild evidence of sun fading to the plastics and carpets, but this does not detract from the overall condition. There is a small stain underneath the driver’s floor mat. All functions and controls operate well including the quirky Renault cylindrical engine oil level indicator. Natural veins to the unworn steering wheel and gear knob are prominent and the typically fragile Renault plastics have avoided the usual damage associated with regular use. A traditional 1980’s Renault lounge interior. ENGINE & TRANSMISSIONFitted with the 1397cc 4 cylinder engine with integral electronic ignition, a power output of 60bhp at 5,250rpm is achieved, enough to reach 94mph. A clean and unmolested engine compartment displays all the manufacturer plates and stickers with paint code markings as well as red PDI dots visible to the strut tops. The five speed all synchro gearbox, standard on the TLE models, offers a relaxed cruising manner in comparison to lesser models and this example feels tight and precise. A very capable and lively drive, typical of a lightweight French car! WHEELS, TYRES & BRAKESDealership optional alloys wheels from the Renault Boutique range were specified as an upgrade along with mud flaps. The intricate design to the attractive wheels has been very well protected and all four tyres are matching 175/70 R13 with plenty of tread remaining. Hydraulic twin circuit brakes incorporate servo assistance, discs up front and rear drums to offer adequate stopping power. HISTORY FILERegistered new on the 20th October 1982, this example was won as a brand new car by the first owner through the ‘Fit the Piece’ National Draw and was presented by Renault National Promotions Manager Peter Widdecombe at the Renault UK Leeds Branch. The ingenious competition involved sending a key to customers to then visit their local Renault dealership, and if the key fitted a car they became winners of it! The first owner, although no doubt delighted with their good fortune did not require the car and it was laid up for many years. In 2010 Renault Classic Car Club member, John Bradshaw, knew of the vehicle and tracked it down knowing it to be arguably the lowest mileage example in the country. He purchased the car adding it to an extensive collection but not finding the time to put it on the road. Fellow club member and Club Registrar, Richard Newton Birchenough, purchased the car next and sourced obscure trim pieces and fully recommissioned it. Joining no less than four Renault 18s including a very rare TL estate the difficult decision was made and the car was sold to concentrate on the 18s. The history file contains the original Renault plastic wallet with handbooks, guides and pamphlets as well as club literature, an original sourced sales brochure and workshop manual. This rare surviving Renault 9, seldom seen on UK roads, will suit any Renault enthusiast or collector of quirky classics. MOT May 2018, HPI Clear. 1990 Polski-Fiat 126P by KGF Classic Cars, on Flickr SOLD / 01733 425140 / 07976 935046 / sales@kgfclassiccars.co.uk / Peterborough
Thinking of selling? Our proven commission sale or SOR (Sale or Return) program is a great way to utilise and access our professional services and facilities while still maximising the return from your vehicle with minimal hassle, stress and time, If you’d like to take advantage of this then please get in touch for further information. Alternatively If you’d like to move your vehicle on quickly and efficiently with minimal delay then we can make an offer on an outright purchase basis with payment and collection arranged soon after
An original Polski-Fiat 126P owned by Fifth Gear Presenter Jonny Smith.EQUIPMENTPVC underbody protection, moulded polypropylene bumpers, side protection strips, opening front quarter lights, laminated windscreen, key ignition start, engine compartment lock, driver’s door mirror, rear fog/reversing lights, heated rear window, tilt/tip reclining front seats, driver and passenger door bins, front utility shelf, rear parcel shelf, protective rubber boot matting, courtesy light, soft feel steering wheel. Dealer accessories; Mud flaps, rigid snow tray mats. EXTERIORThis truly remarkable Polski-Fiat 126P is super cute and wonderfully original. The factory coating of Rosso Fiam, (Code 854/F), is preserved to an amazing standard with a deep shine and uniform finish. All factory fitted panels have linear gaps and the panel edges are sharp and defined, exactly as they were made. Amazingly the lightweight bodywork has avoided the common dings found on most examples and only very close scrutiny will detect faint markings. The underside and inner wheels tubs are superb and thankfully no excess application of underseal allows easy structural inspection. All trim pieces are immaculate and the factory etched glass remains fitted. An iconic Italian design, guaranteed to raise a smile! INTERIORThe delightfully sparse interior of this 126P harks back to a far simpler era of motoring with an emphasis on everything you need and not a lot more! The compact black vinyl seats and matching door trim is spotless and completely free from wear. All switchgear housed in the perfect padded fascia operates flawlessly. Optional rigid snow mats remain fitted and are designed with a lipped edge to allow containment and emptying of melted snow off your boots! The front luggage compartment is pristine with the original rubber mat, washer fluid pouch, factory paint code stickers and chassis stamp are all clearly visible. A real time warp interior. ENGINE & TRANSMISSIONFitted with the 652cc air cooled engine with single downdraught carburettor, with 24bhp at 4500rpm and maximum torque of 30.4lbs.ft at 3000rpm at your disposal, progress is perhaps unsurprisingly fairly sedate. Designed with simplicity in mind, this frugal motor will provide the new owner with very low running costs, maximum reliability and tremendous fun with cruising at 60mph perfectly comfortable and a top speed of 65mph. The engine compartment is beautifully clean, unmolested and displays factory stickers, plates and panel stamps. Original factory weld lines are clear to see on this very original car. The four speed gearbox with synchromesh on the top three gears feels light and tight. WHEELS, TYRES & BRAKESFive factory standard steel wheels are unrestored items with the production stampings clearly prominent. Light markings have been touched in to the original light grey paint and matching 135 R13 Radial tyres are fitted. Independent brake circuits incorporating front and rear drums operate well but require a firm foot compared to modern offerings! HISTORY FILEBuilt under license from Fiat between 1973 and 2000, the Polski-Fiat 126P was virtually identical to the original Italian car with the letter ‘P’ added in order to distinguish it. Subject to many subtle revisions throughout the production run, this example is the Type FL, a series introduced in December 1984. Manufactured by Fabryka Samochodów Małolitrażowych (FSM Poland) and registered new on 19th November 1990, the original factory consignment docket is stamped by the plant in Bielsko-Biała, the only factory still producing the vehicle after production ceased at the Tychy plant in 1979. The original FSM warranty booklet and repair record contains recorded entries and is stamped with the salespersons details! The only UK owner is a Mr Jonathan Smith, better known as ‘Jonny’ the presenter of popular mainstream motoring TV programme Fifth Gear. Jonny sourced the car from the previous owner Artur Szafran in Poland in 2016 and full UK registration was carried out on 1st September 2016. Having owned over 130 cars, Jonny is no stranger to quirky classic vehicles and this Polski-Fiat was simply irresistible. After a year of fun alongside his 1963 Beetle owned since he was 16, and guest appearances at local classic car shows, this delightful 126P is wanting for nothing ready for a new appreciate owner. Every inch a desirable cult classic, this original unmolested example is not to be missed! MOT August 2018, HPI clear. 1978 Vauxhall Cavalier Mk1 1900GLS Coupe by KGF Classic Cars, on Flickr SOLD / 01733 425140 / 07976 935046 / sales@kgfclassiccars.co.uk
Probably the best Vauxhall Cavalier Mk1 1900GLS Coupe with just 17,115 miles.EQUIPMENTFront air spoiler, bright sill moulding, extra bright mouldings, wheel-arch bright mouldings, opening rear quarter windows, halogen headlamps, interior roll bar, Continental front arm rests, wood veneer door inserts, 4-spoke sports steering wheel, quartz-activated clock, full sports ‘six pod’ instrumentation to include; large speedometer and rev counter, oil pressure gauge, voltmeter, water temperature gauge and fuel gauge. Factory options; Metallic paint. Dealer options; Mud flaps, Phillips push button stereo cassette. EXTERIORFinished in factory optional Sapphire Blue Metallic, (Code L218), the original paintwork is beautifully preserved. Minor blemishes, truly insignificant, are entirely forgiven on this factory fresh unrestored example and do not detract from the simply amazing condition this Cavalier is in. Factory panels remain fitted and panel stampings are clearly visible in the boot area and engine bay. All trim sections, rubbers, badges, lights and GM Securit glass are virtually as new. The original number plates are fitted, as is the supplying dealer sticker in the rear screen. The conscientious owner paid extra to have rust protection when new which remains in isolated areas. Truly a one off and a must see to fully appreciate this outstanding unrestored Cavalier. INTERIORA spotlessly clean, functional and retro Vauxhall interior is certain to amaze fans of the Griffin badged cars. The original ribbed velour interior trim in Blue, (Code NN371), is preserved in as new condition, commensurate with the exceptionally low mileage. Devoted Father and Son ownership is clear to see with all trim pieces, carpets and door cards in pristine order. Light scratches can be seen to the inner door catch bezels. The matching blue dashboard and switchgear are perfect and all functions operate flawlessly including the Phillips push button stereo cassette. The headlining is fully intact. All gauges in the ‘six pod’ dash exclusive to the GLS Coupe and Sportshatch models show healthy readouts. A real time warp interior, worthy of any museum exhibit. ENGINE & TRANSMISSIONThis top of the range 1900GLS model features the punchy 1897cc OHC four cylinder engine developing 90bhp at 4800rpm and 105lb/ft of torque at 3800rpm. The engine bay is beautifully clean, unaltered and displays factory stickers. Panel stampings are clearly visible on the inner wings and slam panel, and protective wax is evident having clearly served its purpose. The four speed all syncromesh gearbox feels light, precise and tight, just as you would expect from a 17,115 mile example. WHEELS, TYRES & BRAKESThe factory fitted Sports Road wheels still have the original bright wheel trim rings and Griffin badged centre caps. These unrestored rims have only faint markings and the manufacture stampings are clearly defined, a feature lost upon even light refurbishment. Incredibly the factory Goodyear Radial 185/70 SR13 tyres remain fitted and whilst in good visual order with ample tread, renewal prior to regular use would be a wise safety precaution. The pristine boot area houses the matching spare with vinyl cover along with the jack and wheel brace. Dual circuit brakes with servo assistance feature 9.7in front discs and 9.1in rear drums to bring the car to a steady and assured halt. HISTORY FILEKGF Classic Cars are proud and privileged to present the holy grail of the Mk1 Vauxhall Cavalier. This outstanding and range topping 1900GLS Coupe has remained in the ownership of Father and Son from new and has covered an incredible and genuine 17,115 miles! Registered new by Vauxhall Main Dealers Forsyth & Ferrier Ltd of Stamford on the 1st February 1978 to first keeper, Mr Graham Rudd, who kept the car for over 38 years! Upon his passing, ownership passed to his son, Michael Rudd, with whom it has remained since. Mr Rudd Senior was a fastidious character who cherished the car. Hand written notes by him reveal the regularity of service work and how even Vauxhall Main Dealer servicing didn’t meet his standards! He even purchased a cheap van for the work commute in order to keep the Cavalier for Sunday best! A Forsyth & Ferrier Ltd new car sales invoice confirms the price paid of £4,964.13 with Mr Rudd’s 1976 Cavalier in part exchange. The original GM ‘Service Your Vauxhall’ wallet contains the handbook and service record along with dealership supplied literature. A large folder contains neatly filed invoices and receipts as well as a collection of previous MOT certificates dating back to the first in 1981! Previous tax discs are mounted in the file and there is a receipt from Peterborough Kwik-fit in 1984 for a stainless steel exhaust system. A very rare find in this condition and provenance, stop here for one of the best remaining Mk1 Cavaliers in existence. MOT August 2018, HPI Clear. The standard four-speed gear knob has been retained on the selector. HISTORY FILEThis Ford Escort 1300E was built in April 1974 and registered by Ford Main Dealers, Gilberts Garage in Crowborough Sussex on the 2nd May 1974. The new vehicle invoice reveals the first owner, Mrs Wilmshurst, paid a grand total of £1550.11 including £3.53 for 7 gallons of Prem! The original stamped service book highlights the car returning to the same Main Dealer until 1984. A newspaper advert submitted on the 6th February 1987 by Bridge Garage reveals the car for sale for £1,299 and was subsequently sold to the third owner, Mr A.R Brooker, on the 11th February 1987 for £1,299. At this time the car had covered 36,703 miles. Mr Booker joined the Ford Escort 1300E Owners Club and was an avid blue oval enthusiast. The current keeper since February 2005, Mr Charles Evans, has created a fabulous Jekyl and Hyde machine with factory original looks but with a fast & furious modern twist! A UK matching numbers Mk2 Ford Escort 1600 Sport with only 53,090 miles.EQUIPMENTFront quarter bumpers, halogen headlamps, auxiliary driving lamps, safety glass all round, anti-burst locks, bodyside and bonnet top coachline treatment with ‘1600 Sport’ script, black finish window surround, black drip rail, two black door mirrors, black door handles, simulated leather covered sports steering wheel, reclining front seats, front head restraints, centre console incorporating quartz clock, hazard warning flashers, heated rear window, tachometer, padded sun visors, two-speed heater, aeroflow ventilation with eye ball vents. EXTERIORThis iconic Escort looks stunning finished in classic Diamond White, (Code B9). The paintwork displays a beautiful polished shine and a bright uniform finish. Correct features such as the Carello Ford Halogen headlamps and Carello auxiliary driving lamps with the chrome outer edge are highly sought after. All the glass is factory fitment and the registration number is etched into every pane of glass. The rear window still displays the supplying dealer sticker, now slightly perished, and the number plates are dealer fit. Lightly restored in the late 1990’s with a wonderful feature in The Sporting Escort Magazine May/June 2001 written by the Mk2 Register, Dave Buxton, the car now shows some minor imperfections. Still commended and used on the show circuit today the expertise of the works carried out and excellent appearance are an indication how good this car is and how minor the imperfections are. A very desirable sporting Ford. INTERIORThe amazingly preserved interior of this example clearly displays the hallmarks of cherished ownership and low miles. The Chevron fabric trim in Blue, (code F5), is spotlessly clean with no sagging, splits or tears and the black loop pile carpet is unworn. Incredibility, the padded vinyl dash top is perfect and even the Quartz clock and Ford push button MW/LW radio is in situ and fully operational. All controls and gauges operate and the normally problematic heater fan works on both speed settings. The leather sports steering wheel still has vein lines visible and there is a tiny split to the headlining at the rear. The boot area houses the correct Ford jack and wheel brace and the floor mat is factory original. The colour code sticker can still been seen on the rear panel. A classic Ford interior to delight the avid blue oval fan. ENGINE & TRANSMISSIONThe 1600GT OHV engine with a twin venturi carburettor produces 86bhp at 6000rpm and is matching numbers. The factory fitted four branch exhaust manifold, highlift camshaft and larger valves allow a top speed of 103mph and 0-60 in 10.1 seconds. The car has been converted to run on unleaded fuel and a correctly located manual choke installed. A very clean engine bay displaying original factory identification plates is ready for bonnet up exhibiting. Perfectly matched to the engine characteristics, the 4-speed close ratio gearbox offers precise, short shift changes. A hugely nostalgic driving experience. WHEELS, TYRES & BRAKESThe factory 13inch sports road wheels remain true to the Ford design with correct black infills and plastic centre caps. Matching Firestone 175/70 R13 tyres including the spare have masses of tread remaining. Hydraulic dual line servo assisted front disc and rear drum brakes offer adequate safe stopping power. HISTORY FILEBuilt at the Halewood Ford factory in April 1979 and registered by Norman Reeves (Motors) Ltd Slough on the 16th May 1979, this is a very rare and genuine UK matching numbers example. Supplied to the first owner, Mr Andrew Dickson, for £3,480 he part exchanged an 18,000 1977 Ford Escort 1600 Sport, so clearly a fan! A wonderful history files contains virtually every MOT from new to verify the low 53,090 miles covered. Purchased by Andrew Windmill as a two previous owner 40,000 miler an easy restoration began in a quest to enter the show circuit. Displayed at Ford Fair 2000 Highclere Castle Class D Concours and even featured in the October 2000 Classic Ford Magazine, this car is used to the limelight. The current owner, Mr Alan Phillips, even attending shows as recently as August 2017! KGF Classic Cars are delighted to offer this rare 1600 Sport to market ready for the next discerning enthusiast to appreciate and preserve. MOT Jan 2018, HPI Clear. Accessories: rear fog light, 12v power supply, seatbelts front and rear, rear storage box, Citroen rubber floor mats, mudflaps. MODEL HISTORYIn May 1968 the Dyane 6 Méhari, an all-terrain, multi-purpose platform-type pick-up was unveiled to the automotive world. Named after a fast-running dromedary camel the Méhari was based on a Citroen Dyane 6 platform and shared mechanicals with the 2CV6 and the Ami. Over a nineteen-year career a total of 144,953 units were made and it has now gained iconic status globally. EXTERIOREleven corrugated ABS thermo plastic panels are finished in vibrant Kirghiz Orange which look striking at any angle. Having won awards several times at the 2cvGB and Citroen Car Club events, the finish is spectacular thanks to a dedicated, well respected long-term custodian and his upkeep. Master Class Awards and Concours prizes both prior and after a panel colour change in 1995 proves the quality of workmanship. The original unwelded chassis has been thoroughly wax-oyled on the top, undersealed underneath, and extensively oiled inside and the space frame has been undersealed on the outside and filled with wax-oyl internally. Minor stress lines are visible on a few fixing points and original features remain in fixed such as the stainless steel wiper arms. This is an exceptional example and certain to delight the next Citroen connoisseur. INTERIORUtilitarian brilliance is demonstrated from Citroen, a maker renowned for their forward thinking innovation and dare to be different mentality. The replaced seat coverings are perfect with just a minor split to the drivers side and this genuine four seater can easily be transformed into a capable utility vehicle. Incredibly the floor remains bare ABS revealing the excellent condition of the body tub and genuine Citroen rubber mats have been fitted from new. Practical accessories such as a 12v power supply, lockable rear box and headrests join playful features including a vintage Solido scale model in a matching colour on the dashboard. All controls operate as they should along with the LNA type instrument panel. Smiles and laughter guaranteed! ENGINE & TRANSMISSIONThe flat-twin air cooled two cylinder 602cc engine produces 32bhp to offer a top speed of 65mph and 0-60mph in 30secs. Meticulous maintenance from the knowledgeable owner to the original engine helps ensure mechanical reliability. New 9:1 pistons, rings and barrels have been installed and the valves have been cleaned and checked. The push rod seals are new and a new engine breather has been installed. The feather weight bonnet lifts to reveal a spotless engine bay guaranteed to please the show exhibitionist. The 4-speed synchro ‘push me pull you’ transmission operates exactly as it should having benefited from the clutch, back-plate, bearing and clutch cable all being replaced. WHEELS, TYRES & BRAKESAll five wheels have rare Citroen accessory wheel trims fitted shod in matching 135/80 R15 tyres. Later version inboard front discs and drums at the rear, all overhauled, combined with a vehicle weighing just 555kg, braking is impressive. HISTORY FILEFirst registered on the 27th January 1981 by Lovekyn Garages Ltd in Kingston-On-Thames as a new vehicle, this Belgium built Citroen Méhari was then supplied by them four days later to a Mr Alfred Keith Waller. The New Vehicle Sales Invoice reveals a total price of £2,650 being paid by Mr Waller who remained the owner until November 1987 before selling the car for £950 to Mr Anthony Shaw. Mr Shaw purchased the vehicle for his son, Jonathan Edward Shaw, who remained the dedicated custodian and enthusiast for 30 years until selling the car to a fellow enthusiast in April 2017, Mr Robert Sansome. A truly spectacular history file with numerous insertions in the Citroenian car club magazine and 2cvGB News tracks noticeable awards such as the 1992 Stratford ‘A’ Series Concours winner and 1999 Master Class Award winner. On display at numerous Registers the following extract written by the current 2cvGB club Méhari Registrar in the April 2017 2cvGB News provides an insight; ‘XGH 616W is Jonathans lovely Méhari. As you may have seen over the monthly Missives, it is one of the longest continuously owned and driven Méharis in the UK. Jonathan has restored and rebuilt it to an exceptional standard’ The large history folder contains receipts and invoices from Méhari specialists and the original handbook and service book along with all keys are present. A historically important slice of Citroen history and wonderful in every respect. MOT March 2018, HPI clear.
