Just cause I'm really excited that I can nearly go home (finish uni in a week and a half) and get to try and get a MOT for Ovy before 02/06/2012 I have been playing on photoshop again, my latest plans for the little car, whether I'll do all of it I'm not sure but hopefully I will. Before: After: Add-ons: Front bumper painted black with it flaked off again for a 'used' look. Slimline Foglights. 6" Halo-surround Spotlights (the outside edge lights up, going to make them turn on with the sidelights). Stoneguards on the headlights and tape on the spotlights. Old tatty rope looped around the spotlights. Leather Bonnet Strap. LED sidelights (plus possibly extra sidelights in the headlights as they are Land Rover ones with the hole already in them). Halogen Headlights with +60% 'Ultra Xenon Max' bulbs. Clear lenses on all indicators. Bullet mirrors (with the back of the mirror painted in the same paint as the bumper, probably satin black). Various stickers. Mudflaps. Side exit exhaust moved back a bit with a silencer and a polished tip. Hope you all like it

Got to say I never really had a problem with the indicators being on the left hand side of my VW Fox but one thing related that I liked was the one-touch indicators, if you didn't press them all the way up or down then it would flash 3 times and turn off, great for roundabouts and changing lanes on motorways. As far as my A35 goes its handy features are errrrm...... a fuel gauge, but it always reads full so its not very useful. Fuel filler cap above rear numberplate so you can go to either full pump no problem. Apart from that theres not much to an A35 (oh and whilst talking about the indicators, they are in the middle of dashboard above the Speedo so if you were being really lazy I suppose you could just make your passenger use them )

Any further done to this, I've just come across it by accident on google, I really want to do a modification like this to my A35 in a few years time, with the K1100 head, 1275 engine chuck on a turbo and in something with 200bhp and only weighing 700ish kg it would be great fun. Also will it be at the A30/A35 national rally or the Retro Rides meet or you not planning on going/not having a completed car by then?

How about if you actually drive with your bumper nudging the back of the truck? If it's big enough they won't even feel it, and there'll be no speed difference at all. You could even attach lumps of sponge/rubber to your front bumper before setting out, to further reduce the risk? ;D Ah, but if you're touching it you're applying a force - which is being produced by the fuel in your tank. Stick a remote operated hook that attatched your car to the rear bumper of the truck, turn the engine off and cruise for miles using none of your own fuel Real tips from me though are just to take everything smooth and then if you don't need stuff like air con on, don't have it on, same with heated seats, I'm guessing its also stupid having the two sides of a car at different temperatures with these dual zone climate control cars, really can't imagine that going well. I will add to this once I have my car on the road and see what I can get MPG wise.

PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE GET SOME VIDEOS UP OF IT WITH THE ENGINE RUNNING Bet it would sound amazing from a distance like those old Saabs just winding their way down the road getting to you in full song.

This might be a strange thing to say (might just be me) But I bet it looks great on a cold and frosty morning. Don't worry I agree, I also reckon it'd look quite cool when driving with all the fluff blowing in one direction.

I would love that, the only difference is I really want one in Green, but I can't imagine fuel and insurance would be any good for a student LPG is lucky, I hope its as brilliant as I think they will be.

I photoshopped my A35 to look a bit like that about a fortnight ago Infact looks a bit like Peter Brocks A30 (he had an A30 with a 3 litre Holden engine in it or something along them lines) Edit: The Brock car is mentioned in the ad lol Also notice it says first registered in 1959, when the last A30's were made in '56 wonder what was going on in those 3 years unless it was exported, built and then registered? :S

I believe its only for when heat is given through light, so I can't see how the colour of a manifold would make a difference, I think it is more the type of paint or coating that make a difference on manifolds, but I'd love to be proven wrong and that colour will make a difference.

Like the Austin A35 that has been mentioned which was designed to be a car that used hardly any fuel whilst transporting a family (would have to be younger kids though really cause I can't fit in back of my A35) It could be any small car that people have grown up with so think Peugeot 106, Citroen Saxo, Vauxhall Corsa, Renault Clio.
And then you have things like Hillman Avengers, my dad had one after the A35 when I asked him what he thought of his Avenger that he had in the 80's once he said it was absoloutley rubbish. But yet we have people who look after them as their classic.
So yeah my prediction are the cars people used as cheap runabouts will be the next gen classics. But people will want to upgrade them to look like their sporting models. So Where it has been: Hillman Avenger -> Tiger VW Golf Mk2 -> GTi Austin/Morris Mini -> Mini Cooper
And in the future we will see things such as: Peugeot 106 -> GTI VW Golf MK5/6 -> GTI BMW 3 Series -> M3 Audi A4 -> RS4 I'm sure you get what I mean.
And then other cars I reckon will become classics. Apart from the current teenager cars like the 106 and Clio, I reckon cars like the Saab 9-3/9-5 will become future classics because of the fact that they are seen as 'different' and they were the last models of Saab. Add to the list sports cars like the BMW Z4, not supercars just a 2 seater and a 3 litre straight-6... a bit like a Austin Healey? Ford Focus... dare I say it but the modern Ford Cortina?
And I'm going to try my best to keep a VW Fox for a long time if I can buy it back one day but only if its a particular Red VW Fox 1.2 as it was kinda my first car (first I was insured on). Rubbish car, but so was the Austin A35 and one of those is in my garage... my dads first car...

when the bed's up it will block any roof mounted lights and lights on the bed will be totally useless if the tilt is on! Cab roof work lights that can be raised on poles when needed? - don't know how practical that would be to make Could have the lamps mounted to the poles at either side of the cab and have the poles down the back of the cab, and the poles clamped on. When you want them adjusting (raising/lowering or make it face the side of the vehicle in case any maintenance wants to be done off the truck) you just unclamp the pole, adjust to the position you want and then tighten the clamp back up. Hope this makes sense, it does in my head

Oops, just found out the answer using Google lol! Looks like it's DLC related where I haven't downloaded a cars profile so appear as a generic black Bora! Thought there was a group of racecar ninja's! Yeah its just the default car for when it can't load another one, I remember it was done on Forza 3 aswell, not sure if it does on this one aswell but on 3 it also used to have the wheels of whatever size the car it was meant to be so occasionally you'd have a Bora with huge wheels and it would look like a stupidly powerful mini monster truck all in stealth black.... looked quite cool tbh Also made us a retro-rides sticker replica Check it out: On the bootlid of this Fox. Next to the front numberplate of the Carlton. Its not perfect but its probably close enough and I thought we need it after all who doesn't like a sticker. Its free on my storefront, either search my gamertag: Nejewathebiker or it should come up if you search the tags RR86 or Retro rides.
