The Partner or Berlingo never tickled me much... Till Grizz lifted out its Prozakian properties!
In South Africa we have annual Wild Flower Tours in early Spring, private or by touring companies, to the Namaqualand region. The full length sunroof will definitely facilitate photography! Perhaps wildlife too. Though it might instead facilitate an easy breakfast for a lion!
Would the Berlingo accommodate a bigger engine, say from the C4, with which I believe it shares a floor pan? Hopefully without requiring outsourced R&D,or at least without turning into a years long project! A quick Google search did not return anything.
Amazing the variation of simple campers designed for these vehicles.
Interesting that the vehicle is also available as a seven seater.

Another cool report. I love me the mk1 Twingo Those Opels really are lovely. Only knew the 4 door over in SA if I recall correctly. The 4 door Opels were indeed sold in South Africa as the Chev(rolet) 2500, Chev 3800 and Chev 4100.

I had a 420SE and they are, without a doubt, mega 'wafty' in a comfortable classy way. I don't know about anybody else but, personally, the steering wheel could have been a tad smaller in diameter, the standard ones seem to be huge to the point where you don't always know if you are driving an executive saloon or piloting a tug boat. Your seat issue could well be broken springs. The seats are easy enough to strip, I never bothered repairing mine as I found the spring design made me feel like I was sitting on a 1950s mattress. My solution was to shove a seat base foam, cut down, from an old MX5 seat I had which transformed the seat into something massively comfortable. I don't know much about the six pot BUT if your battery is on the right hand side ( looking at the engine from the grille, and in the corner by the windscreen, have the battery out and unbolt the tray for a good look underneath. They are known to rot there BADLY ( mine did ) and where the rot takes hold is around a roll bar mounting, its an awkward repair to do to, especially if the rot spreads towards the bulkhead All in all, brilliant cars and yours is an utter peach. Nothing else really comes close for street presence and utter class amongst its competitors, does it! Wonderful stately cars with presence! I agree on the steering wheel, but it is a catch 22 situation - go smaller and the steering wheel starts to obscure the instruments.

Haven't had the time I'd have liked lately to really work on this project. Now that classes have started up I'll have even less time! I often regret continuing to go to school for so long in pursuit of more than a single degree while trying to run a business. Persevere. It will be worth it!

Welcome! Good to see another W124. Indeed some of the last good designs by Mercedes that can be kept running on a budget.

The quick trip was exactly what the doctor would have recommended!
Loads of rain and sunshine along with massive and long hedges, plus neighbours who wait for me to cut first as thy know I cut tops and over onto their sides, saw me start with these.
Lucky clots!
Got to his place by 4.30 and he already had the fire going, just so we could cook a few snacks.
Essential!
I had really hoped to hear and smell and feel the Chevy run, but unfortunately, the spark plug leads were next door at Joes place, on this van........
And yes, it runs too, smoothly, despite outer appearances.
Big envy!
Craig is really fortunate to have a petrol head for a neighbour.
Indeed!
In other news........
Dennis bought a new truck.
Yes, never one to do things by half measure.
This is a one owner Ohio grain truck from Toledo.
You know the NASCAR 66 C10 he is building......
So why not build a period correct race car transporter?
GMC anyone?
All I will say is that it was for the price of a cheap Halfords bicycle. Then of course you have to add in the 16 hour round trip to go fetch it.
Big jealousy this time!
Glad it was a good day for you!
