Another 'new' gardener here, very impressed with your work. I don't know if it will help but we have put marbles in our pots to stop our cats from leaving their calling cards in the soil and so far it seems to have worked.

Yep, that's the fella. Fitted to Montegos and Maestros, some were n/a dizzlers the others (obviously) turbos. From memory the LDV200s that had them were all n/a versions but even they could shift. Probably fairly to hard to find in the LDV200 as later ones had PSA 1.9 engines instead that were reliable but sluggish. Possibly worth a blat on the Maestro/Montego owners forum and see if you can score a complete car with beyond-saving bodywork and have a word with the regulars on there about what will be needed to convert.

Mmm. Interesting. LPG is good but expensive, and wouldn't really give any gain in torque over the original engine for towing with. Perkins could be a good 'avenue' to explore but speed I guess is an issue. I'm not sure that the monteastro TD would be good to pull 1.5+ ton of Leyland iron... Just as a thought, what about the transit DI? Hey the Perkins Prima TDs are popular conversions for 'series' Land Rovers and are no slouches.

Cavalier Mk1 headlight: FREE.
Cavalier Mk1 front indicator: FREE.
Alternator (believed to be Cav Mk1) condition unkown: FREE.
2x 175/65/14 Barum tyres. Good as new, hardly used: £20 the pair?
Halford's roof box medium-ish size, excellent condition: £30?
VW Golf roof bars, believed to be Mk4 (come and try them) £15.00?
Nu-Swift vehicle fire extinguisher. Says 1967 on it somewhere so assume that's correct. Looks unused but wouldn't want to rely on it in the event of a fire. Nice period thing for your 1960's car: £10?
Brexton 2 setting picnic set. Absolutely ideal for those retro days out. Completely original and nice condition, included original flask, cups, spoons etc. Box decent-ish but hinges a bit rusty. Lovely bit of kit: £25?
Brexton picnic kit: not entirely original (has nice period Boots flask and original chrome plated tea spoons though! £15.00?
Fox Evo 4 17" alloys in 4x100 flava. Three have no tyres, one has just about legal 205/40/17 tyres. One centre cap missing, some kerb damage. £70?
Prefer collection on all the above as might struggle getting time to pack/post them all. Will add pictures later.
Chester, Cheshire close to M53/M56/A55/A56/M6 etc.

A Perkins of some sort could probably be persauded in. It'll sound like a tractor and pull about 41.336mph flat out though. A 2.0 turbo dizzler from a Monteastro might work better but please don't get one to destroy for the engine.

Another belting day out. Massive 'hats off' to Jon and Chris for the organising and enjoyed some good chat (who'd have thought politics would be discussed? ) and good company. The Commer was fantastic Pete, can't wait to see it when you've finished the interior.

1994 Golf 1.9TD CL five door. Bodywork condition best described as bl**dy horrible but engine, clutch box seem superb. Pulls like a train, starts first time and no noticeable unwarranted noises or smoke etc. 104k on the clock, has power steering and towbar/electrics. As said bodywork is horrible, in fact make that terrible. Rust, rot, scratches, holes etc. MOT'd until May 16th 2010 (yep, next week), and out of tax. Brakes not fantastic, interior needs a clean and I spotted one bit underneath that may want welding. It's a sort of rubber bung on the passenger side floor and it seems a bit crispy underneath that. It's highly likely there's other things wrong too, please feel free to come and have really good look round it so you know what you're getting... I feel I've been honest about this car, I don't tell lies or try and do people over as I'm not like that. Any questions fire away and if you're miles away and potentially interested feel free to ask anyone you like who may live nearer to inspect it for you and report back in private. I have nothing to hide and as said I don't do people over or lie. Car is in Chester, Cheshire very close to M53/M56/A55/A41 and within easy reach of M6 North and South. Please note it's for sale until I've had a deposit or full amount paid, I can't keep it here so with respect I don't want to wait for weeks on end until you can borrow the money or find time to collect. Cup of tea and chat about motors waiting for the buyer, you can collect from my house and have a full written, receipt for the car. £250/offers? As said engine seems brilliant and pulls very nicely indeed plus any inspection welcomed. Please no timewasters or 'text talkers'. Can't deliver sorry so (cash on) collection only.
