...despite being an ex-biker (and bike lover) a few mates are into scoots and I felt a stirring in the loins for some I-tin. Combine one works bonus and a flit round eBaY and the result was this... It's a T5 Mk1 with P200 engine apparantly and pulls quite nicely. Some sort of fancy aftermarket exhaust thing for the ultimate 'bee-in-a-biscuit-tin' sound and the wonderful aroma of two stroke all over my clothes Not done much so far, only had it on the road since Saturday but chrome front rack added and natty chequered mud flap scored yesterday, not pictured yet... To come will probably be some mirrors and lights, won some on eBaY so just waiting for them to arrive. Change of seat probably on the cards too, along with rear rack/spare wheel holder and possibly some art work or graphics. Good fun to ride, nowhere near as refined as most 'bikes and a bit 'buzzy' but I'm sure I'll get used to it.

nice scoot but wrong if yer modding it up they are the ultimate 80's scooterboy bike that took many a teen to every corner of this island back in the day

To be honest I wouldn't mind a PX so I can have one standard (T5) and then modify the PX, but can't afford two at the moment. Also any changes (except a paint job) would be reversible anyhow.

Had a few Vespa's. Love them.
Will watch this one.
I do remember the intoxicating and deffo addictive smell of 2 stroke oil burning.

nice scoot but wrong if yer modding it up they are the ultimate 80's scooterboy bike that took many a teen to every corner of this island back in the day well said mr slacker you CANNOT add lights and mirrors to a mk1 t5, you will be laughed at by anyone and everyone at the first sight of you wobbling around the roundabout on brighton sea front! the mk1 t5 as slacker says is the proper 80's scooter boy scooter, built for speed, reliability of hauling 2 15 stone blokes and a tent to the other end of the country for a weekend on the curse word it is not for adding shitey mirrors and lights to yours is a spanish import, a tx200, basically a mk1 t5 but with a p200 engine fitted as standard www.scooterboyworld.com come over here for some stick ;D

LOLZERS! It's not entirely original anyhow, will see what happens. No offence like but I don't especially care what other scooter-ists might make of it, I'll just do what I feel like and if they don't like it it won't be my problem. Not intended as being arrogant by the way.
I'll have a look at that forum later, cheers for the link. It's badged (one side) as a TX200, but V5 says Vespa Douglas which was a lot of fun when I got it insured I can tell you. Think best outcome is to find out it's an import tbh, but will see what happens.

Cheers, definately be looking at it later. What are the details on the PE by the way please? Doubt I can afford it but you never know!
Mine was pulling to an indicated 65 yesterday and probably had more behind it but due to riding bikes in the past I wasn't overly keen on motorway use on the Vespa as it felt a bit 'buzzy' and not as comfortable at cruising speeds. Hopefully I'll get used to it though as I fancy a few runs out.

£1000 ono would buy it, its mot for the next month & tax also, engine needs oil seal doing as it runs a bit erratically and lights need seen to, but not a big job!, was only built last year and wasnt used much! air brushed tank, headset top and horncast, chrome exstended forks and chrome under headset, sundance grips and a door mat seat!!
ive bought a lambretta, so this is just sitting in my garage, was gona use the engine for a trials/grasstracking vespa I'm planning, but much rather sell it all in!

Cheers, definately out of my budget sorry. What do projects go for, say something that's running but out of test and needing work?
Oh, found a scooter place near work who sell new and used stuff. He's got some rough spare panels in cheap, might buy one or two to practise panel beating/spraying etc.
*Edit: had a gander at that forum, looks like a right laugh so have joined up.

Vespa looks good, wasn't sure at first but the more pictures you posted the more it grew on me! Awaiting confirmation from the forum mucker, maybe I should photoshop some mirrors and tat on the Vesp and go in all guns blazing?

Haha, i looked at that forum out of curiosity and it looks like it full of a right load of people you don't want to know.
I know for sure, they don't like mods in the slightest.

Not much happened so far, but will don flame proof suit 'just in case'. I love the spotlight on the front, eBaY bargain at £2.25 plus postage. Not wired in yet but will be when I cba. American flag on toolbox couldn't stay so was replaced by the union flag, and a St George's cross which I'll move elsewhere at some point. Chequered mud flap something else I like and like the other stuff can all come off easily enough if I change my mind about it... Ps: no joy with that forum, applied to join but not heard anything back.

vesta douglas' were built in bristol, ive had one and my mate has one aswell. they were imported and alot brought back, mine and my friends came back from italy but cant see why one wouldnt come home from spain either.
have you looked into kitting it??? a change of head/barrel and piston will see huge imporvements
i have a 125 which i kitted to 166 and that was pretty quick imo, managed 80 anyway.
