Nice Vitesse, its amazing the difference a pair of spats and a boot spoiler make in my eyes. Still not certain whether to fit the boot spoiler and deep Vitesse chin to mine yet or just sell em off If you need a good home for the boot spoiler.... Unsure as to what to do with it Phil, I have quite a few bits to decide what to do with them. How did you separate the lights? Looks very solid a car mate.

A sprayer I used to work with used to be a smart repairer on dashboards and the pics he showed me were amazing but quite pricey to do. New dash boards are available from Rimmers but only in grey so need re-colouring. Around £70 if I remember rightly.

Phil, here are some pics of the bumpers I have A rear bumper that is in really good shape structurally but would need a clean and possibly a coat of paint to freshen it up a bit. I do have a couple of front bumpers. One has had some minor repairs but will need a bit more and paint (The one furthest from the camera) Not perfect but wouldnt take much to be usable. And one that has lost all its brackets but has chrome to repair the other one.

If the 6 pot head carrier/head assembly is any good and not rattling its bits off when you upgrade to the V8 let me know as I need a spare 6 pot head/carrier. The engine is really good actually, it has the period external oil feed to the cam, and sounds very healthy! Pm me when you start to see me take the engine out on here and we'll work something out. Thats brill, will do mate. I have a few bumpers in my shed Phil, If you can give me till Sunday I can post pics. My shed are pretty much full of parts for SD1's

Looks a decent shell. The dash has gone exactly in the same place as mine, easy enough to change though. Will you be adding Vitesse spoilers? If the 6 pot head carrier/head assembly is any good and not rattling its bits off when you upgrade to the V8 let me know as I need a spare 6 pot head/carrier.

I remember when I lived in Whangarei, NZ for a year I saw a CF that had the back door sealed and smoothed. Looked pretty cool.

I had a Rover 825 VM diesel that had the belt issue. Three times I bought a new belt and three times it killed them. I changed the tensioner etc but it turned out to be the bottom mounting bolt on the alternator had snapped allowing the alternator to twist very slightly and allow the belt to pop off. don't know if the arrangement is the same on the Jeep , alternator on the off side but worth checking.

Surely the V5 and reg would be useless without the car? Best option is to keep the whole car.

Nice work Gents. It was freezing yesterday, I was out in the rain/wind/cold refitting the inlet manifold to my Rover SD1 and cleaning 30 years worth of oil off the linkages and carbs. Funnily enough Grizz one of the things I was using was kitchen degreaser Never thought of using the wheelbarrow as a portable wash tank though, will use that idea today

Insurance is a real rip off. I think George has made the right decision in keeping the Escort. There are very few left now even fewer in that condition.
