I remember the neighbors complaining when I had my last V8 with four branches and twin 3" stainless pipes especially at 5.30 am I had to roll it down the hill then start it. My last V8 was built by Dave Porters racing team mechanic, 3.5 with 3.9 injection off a Range Rover that was chipped etc, It was extremely quick. The gearbox I had was an LT77 with 2/3rd gears from a Sherpa diesel fitted pulled like a train and literally wiped the floor with all the boy racers in the area. Sourcing parts myself for my 6 pot, with its engine in bits while I sort the head gasket then onto welding and paint. I'm after an off side rear arch repair panel if you ever come across one, managed to land a ns off eBay last week.

As said above, those area's really aren't that bad at all. I work literally 2 minutes from Triumph In fact we do some work for them. Myself I travel by bus from a place called Earl Shilton which also has a bad name but again isn't really that bad but not a great deal here entertainment wise bar a few pubs and loads of takeaways. Hinckley is part way through having a huge shopping center built including cinema and along with a new leisure center. www.thecrescenthinckley.co.uk/

Hi All
I have aquired a 1984 2600 Vanden Plas SD1. If anyone has any parts for sale i.e panels etc please let me know.
I am especially after door cards, a vitesse spoiler and wheels.
I will consider all parts as long as they can be posted or you will allow me to arrange a courier to collect.

This has to be one of the best threads ever..... Most would have gutted the old motor and scrapped the rest. You have balls of steel and by god its paid off for you. Got myself an SD1 being delivered next week, love them,

Hi All I am selling my Shogun LWB Its a 2.8 with 7 seats, the engine runs well if a bit lumpy on morning start ups and there are a couple of oil leaks that need sorting, the rocker gasket was done as it leaked a lot. Mileage is approx 180000. I drove it 20 miles and it didnt miss a beat no sign of overheating and the gear box is nice and tight oh and its a manual. The truck has the air locker rear axle that appears to work fine as you can hear it engage. There is a chrome A bar fitted with working spots along with a huge towbar. It has 31x10,5x15 tyres that have some cracking to the sidewalls but decent tread, Interior wise it is in nice condition just needing a good clean. It needs a lot of welding to sills arches chassis so really is only suitable for spares but if you are good with a welder it could be repaired. No battery but can put one on it to load ont a trailer/truck. It is pretty straight on the body for an old truck. I bought it as a big project but I have a Rover SD1 being delivered next week so really need this gone, The old bus would break for good money but my missus would disown me if I did it. Maybe use as an offroad toy:) £350 ono I will be having a huge clearout from my sheds soon too Any interest PM me and I will send you my moby number,

Hi all I was given a compressor that had all of a sudden stopped working. It appears to have lost its oil due to being damaged just below what looks to be a drain plug underneath the oil sight glass. It had seized but soaking the pistons with oil freed it of with no problems. Can this be welded?

Its great to see these being saved rather than scrapped, the MK1 is a better looking truck than a MK2 in my opinion. Those truck mirrors some are fitted with are cool, shame they wont fit mk2's,
Mine does have a lot of rot but that can all be dealt with, I'm toying with the idea of getting a second chassis to cut repair sections out of which should make life easier We use a company at work that fabricate jigs etc and he has very kindly offered to make me some replacement box section sills.
Keep up the great work its going to be a hell of a truck when its done.

Cracking rebuild there and the quality of the work is fantastic. How much work is involved getting the body off? I am about to start welding my MK2 LWB up as it needs sills and repairs to the rear chassis so maybe it would be better to pull the shell off. Is there anywhere that sells replacement panels for Shoguns?
