Hmmm... the best and worst things regarding ye olde Alfasud!
Best Bits: the handling... the sound (yeeehaaa crackling and popping)... the ability the thing has to put a silly grin on your face when you go for a blat over the hills. And barely anyone else has one.
Worst Bits: sucks gas for a 1.7... rust (well it WAS there)... frequent maintenance... some bits starting to annoy me cos they're old, like door seals, rattly bits... but what kind of old car would it be without rattles I guess!

Triumph 2000 Best . Smooth old cruiser Worst. Will it or wont it make it? (Don't drive it enough)
Fiat 127 GT Best. Little belters Worst. Its been dismantled in the shed for the last 8 years.

Best Excellent long distance motorway cruiser & tow car, very relaxing to drive, but still respectable on B roads, luggage capacity, reliability, excellent heater & it's built like a tank!
Worst Fuel consumption isn't great, the body needs work, very heavy steering at parking speeds and compared to the Sprite, it's a barge to drive.
Sprite
Best Grin factor - fun to drive, with amazing steering (2 1/4 turns lock to lock, rack and pinion), handles like a go-kart, feels so much faster than it actually is, can be driven hard without attracting attention from the Feds, rifle-bolt gearchange, camaraderie of the Midget & Sprite Club.
Worst Lack of oil pressure (needs an engine rebuild), top speed only 86mph, so can't keep up on motorways (no fifth gear / overdrive), maintenance intensive, & no MOT at the moment.

I know what you mean Gavin But i Fitted a Cut Off Switch too the Floor Pan so I can also Charge the Battery up from here so no need to lift the rear seat unless you need to top up the battery or change it.
Erm best thing.
The ease of blowing your local Barry boys away, and her looks
Worst
Every weekend something needs changing.
Midget Best thing
Road Holding and Sideways action
Worst thing.
Getting in the curse word with the Corbra Seats in

Applicable to all 3 of my Datsuns:
+ve
1. Really easy to drive - light clutches, slick gearboxes, light steering and fairly forgiving roadmanners
2. Reliability - My cars have never leaked and they will start up on the button every morning - cold or hot.
3. Easy to work on, loads of space under the bonnet, all major components are within easy reach
4. Retrotastic - once treated as junk (you really couldn't give one away a few years ago) and now the pseudo american/plastic trash/70's over styling thing is apparently well in.
5. Quite good fun to drive, once you sort out the suspension, which can be a bit wallow.
-ve
1. Rust
2. Some parts can be a problem
3. People pre-conceptions of Datsuns still remain
4. They have no 13' bolts on the car - as a result my 13' ratchet is unused...actually most of my spanners don't get used that often ;D
