Well was driving the Qwertina to work today and it was running as rough as a Badgers Behind. Cut out on idle and stuff but seemed fine when upto speed.
Anyway pulled onto the A1 from the Lobley Hill Interchange and it Hicked big style and cut out so pulled it over onto the grass sharpish. Started it up and it seemed to idle fine, went to pull away and it cut out and wouldn't restart.
So got out and rang the AA:
As I was on the phone the Police and Highways Agency Arrived:
The AA arrived about 2 mins later (very impressed with the service)
The Highways agency said they had a special bike to pick my car up. Yup thats what they said a bike. I'd previously seen and taken pics and a video of said bike and meant to start a thread but never got around to it.
So a few minutes later it arrived and very quickly the Qwertina was hooked up:
As I jumped in the AA Van I heard on our local radio that there was a Build up of traffic at Lobley Hill due to a Break down ;D
So it was towed to Dunston with a Bike!
Where we proceeded to find out it was all my fault and I should have put petrol in it!!
All three of the recovery guys were totally sound. Had loads of Praise for the car. 2 of them were even classic car owners. One had even just sold his Cortina Carousel (seriously he showed the logbook as proof) and the AA guy has a Stag and a Series 2a Landie.
Anyway Back to the Bike. Its a Highly Modified Honda Goldwing I believe. Have some More pics and a Vid:
I was really impressed! Perfect for quick pickups and weaving through traffic to a scene of an accident or Breakdown. The guy who rode it loves it!
