The Coupe and Cabriolet were penned by Pininfarina. They were launched at the Geneva Motor Show in 1969, a year after the conventional 504. Initially it had the Kugelfisher-injected (and bombproof, from memory) 1796cc Hemi-head engine XFM, but from 1971 this was enlarged to (wait for it) 1971cc. From 1975 until 1977 buyers could also choose the 2.7 litre V6 which was also fitted to the Renault 30 and Volvo 264, this was fitted with fuel injection from 1977 until production of the 504 Coupe ended in 1983.
