Usually pre Retro Car Mag show, or Retro Rides show last year, we're usually all wound up either secretly finishing a master piece, or getting the Retro straight and mild pimped for the trip to the show. Seems more relaxed to me than usual is that cos its a more relaxed event? Saw some sharp looking RR cars of 2008 at the Ace caff night, so maybe you are all ready? --- I had ambitions of getting My Sierra done this summer but my cutting and unbolting got out of control LOL, so next year! Full update when I'm happy with a chunk of steps forwards! Slightly neglected van not only still needs cosmetics like doors dents and the rest, but I'm trying to creatively replace a snapped exhaust and shagged bushes, and punctured new tyre, more to do but thats the bulk of it! Mr Twigzy helped me make the old zorst 1 piece again, replacement possibly coming... not ideal as a result not bought a ticket yet, despite two more booked out weekends i'm not gonna give up so easily.... how are you getting on?

I put a hold on my project due to the fact I would need to rush it to get it there, and TBH once its done I don't wanna re-do things a year later. The GT will be there, and I can actually say its finished, after all the years of chopping and changing small things on it, its now the way I want it and will stay like that for a while (well until a MX5 donor comes along ).

- May fit hot cams that have been waiting patiently to be fitted for over a year but they've waited this long I might not bother - May port match the inlet manifold to head which I didn't do before I fitted the carbs DOH - May fit stand alone ign system (if it arrives) resolving my lack of ign advance
other than that
Gas it up - wash it - hope it doesn't blow on the rolling road Sat Morning of RR08 - collect printout - go home - attend wedding - sleep - drive to Gaydon Sun morning - flipping early
thats it........

No rush here. I hope to finish my Anglia in 2010 so for now it's a bit of a multi-coloured mess with dodgy wiring and a smokey engine but at least it's on the road. ;D Oh...I have got my wheels painted the way I want them so that's something.

Mmmm - probably give it a decent wash & also wag & paint up the crispy rear arch.... Might even redo the front wings in the unlikely even that I can be bovvered

....ooooops only two weeks to go. Need to redo the whole exhaust on the van, it´s not sounding good (until the back box fell off at the weekend! ) Got an oil leak i think i´ll have to live with for now... ....and i really need to get some discbrakes on the frontaxle but can´t see that happening before we come over. Good job it´s only 600 miles to Gaydon...(one way)! ;D

I was going to say "I'm doing nothing" but that's a lie as the 2CV is currently having a pair of sills fitted by someone who can do clever stuff, like weld. Should be looking good hopefully!

Ian, take your Dyane, there would be a rush on to get that finished...
No real rush here, I want to lower my car a bit more (25mm off the floor hopefully) and modify some shockers, replace springs etc, and also change engine cowls for some I powder coated 'tuther day.
Theres a couple of weeks I could do all that in, so I'd imagine Ill be doing it on the saturday morning prior to the show, having been subject to huge bouts of lazyness and Pernod drinking.

No rush from me - foot is off the accelerator pedal (if I had one...). I'm a bit miffed about not having el Benzo ready for RR08, but kinda relieved I'm not sh*tting bricks cos I only have a few weeks to go! ;D

My friend is hopefully coming across to the Pod on Saturday in an 08 plate swift and I wanna show him up without mincing my engine and/or covering him in blue smoke. Sooo I've gotta do my valve stem seals, get the tyres balanced (minor, i know), find someone with a timing light to sort out me timing, and a meter to do my mixture now the K&N is on.
Really I wanted to sort out my crispy arches too, but don't have the money to buy the cans.

pack car, add fuel, drive. actually I got to fit two tyres to it as I had a sidewall blowout on the n/s/r and the o/s front was getting a bit thin on the outside. nowhere near illegal but it looked bad from judicious cornering ;D and put another head unit in it as the last one expired round the north circular the other wednesday....

Well i was in no rush and just gona wash the estate and cruise over, then painted all the satin nlack with crusty blood pearl. Now i have the desire to take off all the side moldings, black them then flake them, looks like i may be busy ;D

the van is going in for an mot tomorrow, so the rush may well start tomorrow evening! hopefully not too much to do though, i think ive sorted just about everything, which as seems to be the trend, involved a whole new exhaust, and some brake problem solving! trying to find the source of the judder otherwise i'll be turning up in the golf, which means i'll have to sleep in a tent Mike

Just waiting to get the engine rebuilt by my man, should get it back this weekend then give it a good clean out followed by a run to test it, then all ready. Planning a weekend away the one before RR08 as well to get more use out of it as we lost 3weeks of summer fun

I was looking to get the n/s/f wing sorted but i cant see it happening in time. and idealy i'd have found a twin choke inlet manifold, but the single barrel will do for now. The only other thing is getting it lowered, I just ned a couple of big u-clamps. I might even bring all the stuff and lower it there ;D D

trying to get the random smoke machine viva turbo to give up smoking... and cure the also random missfire.. but its ok about 90% of the time so might just give it hell and hope it makes it to pod for some rwyb and rr08 if it dies it gets punished (the engine that is!) and recieves the v8 it should have had! si
