I'm new here so thought I'd just say hello! Great to see so many quality motors in one place. Personally I've got an '88 Sierra Sapphire (lowered, alloys, big brakes, late interior, but to the untrained eye it looks like a boggo, maritime blue 1.6L) waiting for me to build up the 2.0 pinto in my shed. I usually drive a '90 Sapphire 2.0 (a stocker - bit sad looking, handy tow car). Also got a '72 Escort 1300 four-door, bought as a project. Trouble is there's a damn sight more welding needed than I thought! Lesson learned - just 'cos the previous owner spent a lot on welding doesn't mean he got VFM! Filler in the chassis members...loads of schutz over pop-rivetted-on panels.... I daren't even jack the curse word up to look underneath now I know what's there! Still, strong 1300 x-flow, and my brother's got a spare 100E rolling shell ;D

Allo, your Sierra project sounds interesting, so does your mk1 Escort, just a shame it's a bit rough, but I've been there plenty of times with Imps (actually I am at the moment! ;D ;D ;D)

I've had 5 Sierra's. 3 hatches and 2 sapphires. The last one was a 2.0 twincam Sapphire. I paid £500 for it, ran it for 2 years and got £495 when I part-ex'd it for my daily driver Octavia. Wish I'd kept it. When the loan runs out on the Octavia, I'm gonna flog it and get something a bit more interesting. My next door neighbour (a pensioner) part-ex'd his Sierra for a Mondeo (he needed power steering) and he's also regretted getting rid of the Sierra!
