Well play.com came up trumps and my DVD copies of the best of New Zealand cinema turned up yesterday morning...After putting up with worn-out VHS copies for the last decade or thereabouts, I now have Bad Taste and Braindead in a digital format Threw Bad Taste on last night...not actually watched it for a few years...and noticed a few lovely little things: Moggy Anglia-box-top-van-conversion-thingy-with-extended-steering-wheel-and-sgt-peppers'-lonely-hearts-club-band-driving-it V6 Capri, on what looked like slot-mags, painted metallic purple with a black bonnet. Nice. Anyone got other retro metal in cheesy horror flicks? *n

Did a bit of Googling - the Capri wasn't blown up - it was a Corolla from a wrecker's yard painted to look like the Capri...I did notice that it didn't have the sun shade on the rear window. *n

I recently bought "the cars that ate paris" completly rubbish australian acting/plot but some top classic 60's and 70's cars, probably has the cheasyest start ever... middle class Man and woman shopping for antiques in a datsun roadster with thier dog, casually driving along enjoying the australian sunshine before getting run off the road and killed by the locals ;D ;D Also bought Grand theft auto, cannonball run and duel special edition recently to go with my Mad Max box set. I'm very tempted to buy the smokey and the bandit box set on region one as well

Vanishing Point
American Graffiti (My favorite 'crusin' film, good soundtrack)
Speedtrap (great start chase with a Jensen Interceptor III)
Carquake
The Car
Un Homme Et Une Femme (A 1966 French film about a Motoracing Driver who enters the 1966 Monte Carlo, actual '66 footage is used ...the year Mini Cooper got disqualified. Car he drives/rallies is a '66 Mustang, straight after finishing he thrashes it back up France to meet his girlfriend in Normandy; by this time the 'stang is well battered and grimey ...cool or what?)

"Faster Pussycat Kill! Kill!" Got some nice sports cars in it. I think there's an MGA and a Porsche 356, but I could be wrong because it's a long time since I've seen it. No plot whatsoever!!
