Thought its about time I showed what I'm working on at the moment. I've spoken about my 'other' Starlet & here it is! 1980 KP62 with 1.2 3k engine & 5 speed box & rottern to the core, but in the process of welding the thing back together. Also been collecting a few bits to bolt onto it such as this: Thanks to a very kind member on here, I now have on its way to me a genuine TRD LSD. Also have cage, adjustable shocks, bucket seats, custom springs to give it a tap. Custom rear anti roll bar on its way & am building a 5k engine from a lite ace van with a few tasty bits on. Thats it for now as I should be working, but will update as things progress! Edit: Found another picture on my phone of my TRD inlet manifold for twin 40's, motordrive bucket to match the one I already have & a Kent cam I had ground:

Did a bit more last night (no pictures of it yet though) Welding to rear end of near side sill & into arch where they always go, but as happens so often, started cutting & it's an even bigger job that we thought even I'm thinking it might be time to call it a day. Loads of hours cutting out nasty, making new & welding in fresh steel & just keep finding more! I'd gueess at 50 hours welding so far & not quite halfway through. I love the car, but is it worth it?!

OoooOOOOooo hadn't seen this before, am loving that side draft manifold, if only we could source them, the only ones readily available here are the iffy Redline manifolds....
Is your 5K solid or hydraulic lifters? If hydraulic, are you going to be making the swap to solids, and which head are you planning on using?
My Liteace 5K is hydraulic, so I'm planning on using FJ40 Landcruiser solid lifters, with a 4K-U (J spec) head and pushrods to complete the package.

I'm going to run the hydraulic lifters in mine, it's not going to be a screamer & only have only had a mild cam ground, so should be ok. WIll most likely make a screamer out of my 4k, as I have another twin 40 manifold, but that's a JDM not a TRD one. Had a better afternoon at work & feel better now, so it's going to stay! Can't scrap all the work that's gone into it now, just have to keep going. I'll try & get some progress photo's next time we're on it

II'm sure it will, everyone I've spoken to about it,( including the bloke I bought the car off who used to work for TTE) says it will, so I'm hopefull. It will be a while yet though because of the amount of welding that's still got to be done before I start putting it back together

Very slowly mate! The friend of mine that's doing the welding for me has been having a few family problems, so that's had to take priority. I've got all the bits I need for the engine now, just going to port match the head now I've got my custom 4 branch exhaust manifold (pics to follow) & when it's welded, just a case of bolting the thing back together...unless something else shiney takes my fancy for it! adjuatable camber plates perhaps

*NEWS FLASH* The white piece of Japanese scrap that I've come so attached to has just made it into the workshop! It's hopefully in there for the duration, or at least until the incredibly rotten shell is back in one piece! Haven't got my camera near it today as didn't really expect anything to happen this week, but photo's will follow to show how bad it is & how good my mate Paul is at welding! Really getting excited now!!!! ;D

Well, what can I say, bloody slow progress, but the only way I can afford to have this rotten heap welded back together! Back end is about done, took the engine out last night so the front end can be sorted. Just got both strut tops, one inner wing, chassis leg & front cross member to do then it should be solid for the 1st time in years! Got a couple of pics, but only got my camera out after it was put back up in the air, so none of how bad the strut tops are. These really don't show how bad it is, but it's getting there
