oops sorry. Basically bloke on ebay offers "mint" 205 T16 with 50K's worth of performance pack for £20K. Nice pic. Plenty of debate on the PSOOC site as to how legit it all is. consensus seems to be it is as seller is a member. Fellow member bids (lucky sod) and wins auction. Seller then informs him that actually he wants 23K for the car!! Buyer arranges to see car with bulging suitcase. What a pair of curse word. They both need a good flaming on your pug forum if you ask me. The sella wants flaming into next week for misdescribing it - why say it;s got the trick bits when it clearly hasn't and in bits..... And the chump who bid on it needs a shoe-ing too. I'm perfectly happy to spend £500 blind on motors on eBay. But £20fecking grand? That's a serious breach of sanity going on right there!!  |

Ok, as I'm a member of the Pug forum, and the Pug 205 Challenge forum I've seen this develop and it's a pretty sad story. The car is a genuine 205 T16. It's been advertised by a guy who runs the 205 Challenge and so you'd have thought that it would all be pukka. BUT...Ebay auction didn't make as much as he thought (and at GBP20k it is a bargain) and the car isn't really as advertised. Only one person has come out of this badly and that's the guy selling it. Result - no-one is happy and a well respected rally organiser gets a bad name for offering duff stuff on ebay! And yes the Unimexsol that is on that forum is me! I get around you know. As for offering 20k for a car that you've not seen... I'd like to think that I'd have viewed it first! |

That's what was weird. At first it looked scamtastic but then when eveyone realised who was selling it it was OK. I guess the buyer thought that because the owner was who he was, then it would be OK.
Still 20K's a lot to bid blind!
Maybe the guy was hoping it would be fixed up by the time the auction ended?, or something!
Strange as it's done him no good at all.
ps, what's your Pug uni? I'm guessing 205 as your registered at the challenge.

Yeah, I've got a few 205's. 1 1.4 CJ, 2 1.6 CTi's, 1 1.9GTi. I've owned about 12 in the last two/three years, and I think that they're great cars.
