hi there, ive defected over here from the practical classics forum, to be honest modified classic and retro stuff is much more my bag. just thought id see what rides you have all owned. heres my list, in order, since i started owning at 16. i'm now 31, and a self confessed ex boy racer. theres a bit of a mixed bag of vehicles here which was dependant on my cash flow at the time. probably have a pic of every car ive ever owned somwehere in my files..
1982 Citroen Visa (bargain £20 purchase. had it a week)
1983 VW Polo CX 1.1 (home window and light tint with blackout spray. burnt out all the wiring trying to install a massive stereo system. sold it to my dad to fund my upcoming boy racer phase)
1984 Vauxhall Nova 1.3 SR (complete with 3 spoke alloys and cherry bomb exhaust)
1990 Vauxhall Nova 1.6 GTE (complete with Group A rally exhaust. You could hear me coming from miles away. total fanny magnet)
1989 Peugeot 205 1.9 GTi (bags of power, loved it)
1975 Mini Clubman 1330 (totally lashed up ‘project’. Caught fire at the MOT station. Ended up cutting it up with an angle grinder and taking it to the the tip)
1991 Renault 5 GT Turbo (old lady scarer complete with purple neons and side exit exhaust)
1977 VW Bay Campervan (sweet ride, lowered as far as it would go on merc alloys and was sprayed deep metallic purple. Unfortunately was missing its chassis plate and was probably stolen. Leaked oil all over the place)
1986 VW Golf C 1.3 (took this round Europe, 6k miles and not one problem, 100% standard, 100% reliable)
1990 Fiat Uno Turbo MK1 Antiskid (the worst purchase EVER! leaked fluids of ALL sorts)
1985 Vauxhall Nova GL (£50 bargain, went on and on)
1980 Mini Clubman 1275GT (great fun, wish id kept it)
1988 Ford Fiesta 1.6 Diesel (lowered. indestructible, just wouldn’t die!)
1985 Honda Civic CRX 1.5i No.1 (running on twin 40’s, ending up writing it off by hitting a roundabout sideways an hour after I’d spent £1k on getting it through an MOT. I was in tears)
1985 Honda Civic CRX 1.5i No.2 (bought it just for the sunroof panel. true)
1992 Citroen ZX Volcane 1.9i (lovely ride, fab suspension. drank fuel)
1985 Honda Civic CRX 1.5i No.3 (bought it to try and make one good one out of three. lost interest then my parents scrapped it whilst I was on hols.. NOT happy!)
1995 VW Corrado VR6 2.9 (beautiful car, wish I still had her. Had to sell to fund first house purchase)
1996 Vauxhall Corsa 1.2 merit (1st company car. Wrote it off for them after 6 months)
2003 Vauxhall Corsa 1.7 Di (x2) (2nd & 3rd company cars – managed to go through 3 steering boxes and a steering column on the first one)
1988 VW Golf Mk1 1.8 Gti Cabrioet (complete with lovely BBS cross spokes. colour white, nicknamed Michelle, something to do with a hairdresser..)
1996 Lotus Elise Series 1 1.8i (highy tuned to 204bhp, started making lots of rattling noises, so I part ex’ed it for…)
2002 Westfield Megabusa 1.3 180bhp banana yellow(scared the sh*t out of me. 0-60 in 3.5s. sold as we forgot to use a condom just the one bloody time)

1982 Suzuki LJ80 (homemade camo paint job, drum brakes all round and a 797cc engine)
1988 Suzuki SJ413 Samurai (eBay browse - my first proper off road toy. Japanese reliabiltity)
1993 Audi Coupe 2.0 16v (lowered and kingfisher blue.. always wanted one, so scratched the itch then sold her on)
2007 Ford Fiesta 1.4 Zetec Diesel (4th company car, boring boring boring) – still have
1993 Jeep Wrangler YJ 4.0 (complete with 30foot suspension lift. No exaggeration here of course) – still own
1994 Jeep Cherokee XJ 4.0 (eBay bargain, bought because I thought I’d blown the other one up and needed a donor engine) – still own
1990 BMW 325i lowered (bought last month off eBay to take round the nurburgring in april this year. Fingers crossed) – still own
still have a few more on my 'to buy' list including a 2.8 audi cabrio, an integrale evo, and a porsche of some description (would like a 911 but can only afford a 944)
