Hey Folks! Another week, another weekly chat, your place for stuff that may not warrant a full thread, or stuff that is just going on right now that you want to share. Okay this is an exciting one, I managed to wrangle Club Retro Rides stuff finally, worked out what was going on with some people not receiving emails, which gives me the confidence to move forward with that and promote it as a thing a bit more. The other exciting bit of news is that I'm currently writing this on a new editor that I've shoehorned on to Proboards. It has MUCH better image uploading capabilities and should make authoring show threads and build threads a whole lot easier. Now it only works on desktop mode, so I'm currently using an experimental version of the site theme that is more set up for mobile experience. I hope to have it in Beta testing early next week. Hopefully some of the people that the previous mobile attempt made very angry will give it a go and feedback. Other than that I wrote out what I was expecting to be a short things to do list for the next couple of weeks on RR and RR Events stuff, and promptly ran out of room on my white board. New podcast from ChasR and ToolsnTrack out tomorrow, keep your eyes peeled. Previous Thread: forum.retro-rides.org/thread/225053/chat-thread-sweltering-wc-12

Link to one of many you tube videos Day 1 was Santa Pod, Beds Day 2 was Melbourne Raceway, York Day 3 back to Santa Pod We were at Santa Pod so spent Saturday evening welcoming cars back onto site (with maybe a little rehydrating) Photo courtesy of Abi

Got my Supra running built up (Good) ....and MOT'd (Good) ...and out for a shakedown (Good) ...then it broke down at Loch Lomond. At night. In peak midge season. (Bitey) Now its home and I'm struggling to work out what's wrong with it.

Hope you get it fixed TBH, the "behind the scenes" reason for all the rush was the sheer space and awkwardness of having the car in bits. Now its built up and I know it runs, albeit with some dumb electrical fault, I can rest a bit and migrate back onto the Locost. This weekend I'm gonna scrub the ol workshop up a bit and get back onto the real build!

Now its built up and I know it runs, albeit with some dumb electrical fault, I can rest a bit and migrate back onto the Locost. This i can relate to! Garage full of facelift parts for the T5 that need a nice clean area for painting, as well as dirty grubby landrover parts that are half way through grinder based de-rusting. Too many T5 parts to work on the landy without trashing the t5 bits, too much dirt to paint T5 parts and waiting on the bumper to be delivered to have everything needed to facelift...

Spent a couple hours yesterday catching up on your Supra videos, good to hear it's been running and driving, hopefully not too hard to sort a fix 🤞🏾

I don't think I shared this, here is a WIP of the forum listing page: Still some stuff to be done around avatar sizing and that whole left hand menu needs some work, but it is slowly getting there.

De-fillered the front wing on the Lanchester. No real horrors underneath, happily. I was supposed to be welding up the Maestro rear doors that are all prepped and ready to go but sod that for a game of soldiers in this heat.

I put my big boy pants on and did the Maestro door welding today. Filler and paint will happen when I fit them back on the car. I've made my best guess on actual fitment but there's always that chance it's wrong when you do it off the car. Not a bad job really, just the heat that spoiled the potential fun of it.

I went to Brooklands on Sunday, took my camera and took a few photos. Not these ones though. My daughter took these with her camera. That is fantastic, the picture is amazingly well timed and the driver of the car/cart is so relaxed about it that he's having a St Bruno moment, you couldn't get better than that. Hats off to him or her

Another week another blast out over some of Northumberland's excellent roads. Didn't let the weather put us off. Tom

Going to roll this over as I was at Glastonbury and totally out the loop for a few days. It was very nice (also very hot). My Neverending List Of Things To Do carries on expanding. I've got outstanding orders to process from last week, as well as a whole host of mobile Forum things to get moving on. Really pleased with this new editor though, I've been using it as my primary interaction with the site for over a week and whilst there is the odd bug here and there, it really is a massive improvement. Particularly for picture threads. On the subject of Glastonbuty, have a suitable traveller type bus:

If you are wondering why there are extra ads on the forum right now, it is because we've gone over our ad free quota, which is great news really as it shows hope popular the forum is. It'll reset tomorrow, if it happens again next month I'll look to increase the amount of ad free pages we get.
