Hey Folks! Another week, another weekly chat, your place for stuff that may not warrant a full thread, or stuff that is just going on right now that you want to share. I went to an event! Bicester Heritage Scramble. It was very excellent. Saw a few RR luminaries there, Seth , bstardchild , ChasR and VIP (who I went with). Saw a few RR cars around the place too and it is clear that there was a fairly substantial RR scene presence, which is lovely. I also wasn't covering for anyone, so I'll make a thread (I really will!). Less than a month until Weekender, so we're in the crunch for that. I'm also moving forward with the ad stuff on here, moving to a new provider, hopefully improving that so the cost of forum running starts to get closer to the income from ads, merch and club. We'll see though. Also as the title implies it is my birthday at the end of the week, will accept full-size Facel Vega HK500 shaped presents. Yes! To getting out and doing things with cars ToolsnTrackOther people out and doing stuff in cars were the CTCRC at Brands Hatch, a 2 day event this time alongside the GT Championship. The Saturday had a big old gap in the running due to an unfortunate car fire. Sunday starts wet and is quite eventful. You may recognise the commentatory from our own events, as well as a certain James Ibbotson in the Hillman Imp in the pre66 race

Can't seem to get my car mojo going at the moment, got all sorts planned. I did fix a Nissan MA10 engine at work which came out well.

Been mostly poking holes in my Crossfire this week. Did have some thoughts creeping in about modding the Almera daily again, some Volvo BBS Craters, bit of lows and a replica Laguna splitter.. a mate helpfully photoshopped something up to show roughly what it would look like Maybe if I find a properly cheap set of wheels, but I really should finish off at least one of my other projects first. And happy birthday!

Pat actually died last year but I'm glad to see his site is still being maintained as it's full of interesting personal takes on American hot rod history from someone who was there.

This interest VW build flagged up, thinking 413 wagon but lots of fabrication work there so far. Lots of stuff on IG doesn't catch my eye but this did.

Don't know what 413 wagon should mean, that's a type 3 squareback.

Pat actually died last year... [/quote] Oh, I'm not sure I'd heard that, which goes to show how out of that loop I am. I'd call him personally responsible for much of my initially aquired knowledge of early hot rodding, via Rod & Custom in the late 80s/early 90s. Always came across as a super cool guy who just really enjoyed what he did. Was a priveledge to meet him and have a brief chat one time at the NSRA Supernats.

Been stupid busy.
I've cars in parts and work / family / social commitments.
I've been enjoying buzzing about in my Fiesta. I have been wondering whether I need something "moderninsh" as a daily, or at least something smaller than my '71 Galaxie....

Good end to the week. First proper drive of my Anglia for nearly 5 years (rather than to the petrol station or round the block to see if it still works) and it didn’t miss a beat. Definitely got my mojo back and I think it deserves a wash tomorrow.

Just logged back into RR after two years. I miss much? Not too much, still here fiddling with older cars. Akku returned to posting in the last year or so and I'm super happy about that. How have you been more importantly?

I've been alright, my Beetle still isn't finished and it seems I'm acquiring cars faster than I can finish them.
Also didn't realise the Gathering had moved location to about 20 minutes from where I live - really must try to go this year!
