Just heard an ad on the radio, free puncture repair and stonechip on windscreen repair at Volvo main dealers for Volvos. Wonder what they'd do if you turned up in an Amazon? Seems like a pretty good deal otherwise

That’s a shame, was hoping for a free repair of the badly designed sunroof drains as I’ve not long pulled 3 bucket loads of water out of my rear footwell. Or a free repair of the 10p plastic part that means I have 3 cd’s stuck in the multi changer, rather than pay them £800 for a new unit. The tyres are the best thing on my Volvo!

I believe I still have the CD auto changer from my T5R somewhere in the shed if you would be interested in an exchange for a few beer vouchers? P.

There will be method in their madness don’t you worry. Oh by the way sir/madam did you realise your brakes are toast, oh your antifreeze is out of sorts etc etc No main dealer does anything for nothing in my experience

Paul Y, thanks for the offer, I’ve still got the unit out of one of my old v40’s in the garage but it’s of no use, it’s a V50 with the waterfall dash, stereo built in the multi changer is behind the dash and it’s not possible to retro fit anything else. It’s not even possible to fit a second hand unit of the same model as each unit is coded to each car, hence Volvo being able to grab you by the dangle berries and charge extortionate prices for something that is only faulty because of a small plastic cog that loads the discs. Shame really because for a stock system the sound quality is rather good.

I tried one of these years ago when I had my old Focus estate. I knew it had a slow puncture in one of the tyres. Went in and it had something in the tread, they said it couldnt be repaired I argued it wasnt in the side wall so it could... basically just got it fixed somewhere else and they just wanted to sell me a new tyres.

Slightly off topic but yea. Very possible.
