As per the title, has anyone used a company for this in the past? Or knows a company who they’d recommend?
The car starts, drives etc, but has no resgistration, so would be looking to get it shipped over if I go for it

From where in Norway? There is a RoRo-ferry from Brevik to Immingham - www.dfds.com/en-gb/freight-shipping/routes-and-schedules/brevik-imminghamOther than that trailer freight is your only option as there are no other ferries going between Norway and the UK. I had a car shipped by truck from Trondheim to Oslo for UK £160. That is approximately 350 miles. Most trucks return empty from north to south as there is little else than fish that gets trasnsported that way.

Thanks for the reply sonus the car is located inTyristrand. I’ll have a look into that company and the temporary registration, I work with a lot of Norwegians on the fpso I’m on, and one of them had called a Norwegian shipping company for me, but they didn’t get back to him. He did mention the registration but I didn’t have a website to look at it in more detail. That will give me some morning reading tomorrow. Thanks and I’ll keep you updated with my thoughts/progress

From Tyristrand to Brevik (Port for the RoRo-ferry) is 100miles almost exactly. A 2 hour drive.
Are you on any of the Teekay FPSOs?

If the car is in good nick just without plates then you could drive to Larvik, take the ferry to Denamrk and drive it to Hook Van Holland and the ferry across to the UK. I do not know what provisional plates you would need. Being on an FPSO I guess you have some time when not onboard and could make a trip out of it😊

The car is meant to be in good condition, but I am yet to see it in person. I was trying to gather prices for getting it from where it is back home before making a 100% decision on if to go for it... but I had considered making a trip out of it if I could It is a Teekay FPSO I’m on, do you/some one you know work on one?

I not sure whether a foreigner can drive on provisional plates? Maybe you are allowed to use UK provisional plates if that exists? When I imported my Volvo V50 from sweden I drovw the car from the dealer in sweden and back home to Trondheim on norwegian provisional plates as they were valod in Norway, Sweden and Denmark then atleast (2007). My better half used to work at the Trondheim head office up until a few years ago and my dad worked GolarNor back in the days when they built Petrojarl1 I actually have a picture of me on deck of Petrojarl1 when it visited Trondheim brand new. Small world 😁

www.vegvesen.no/en/vehicles/own-and-maintain/number-plates/temporary-number-platesLooks like you might have to have a norwegian ID-number. I'd give Vegvesenet a ring. They are the norwegian DVLA and are just as tricky to deal with. Might the seller be willing to get the paltes for the car for a small additional fee? Not many intersting cars for sale in Tyristrand so I guess it is either rear engine or has a V8 If it has a V8 I'd contact the American car club - Amcar.no they are very very good at rules of importing cars and should know how to export them as well. They probably would help with other makes aswell.

I’ll try giving them a call and see what they say, or get someone I work with to call them. I did ask the seller about options for shipping but he didn’t seem too keen on doing it... It’s actually a Peugeot.... awd and a 2.0 16v turbo
