Oh, hello there. How are you all? Long time no see.
I've not been about for a while, on account of not being at all well and as such, I prioritised getting all my ducks in a row. Prolonged hospital stays, much medication and much tlc, my Ducks now lined up. I'm back, baby. Or something like that. It's a bit of a non-event really, I'm not terribly exciting. However, I like RR, so I wanted to ingratiate myself once more.
So what's been happening? Well, quite a lot, actually.
Once I get myself out of hospital, and with no job to go back to, I threw myself into my site, www.not2grand.co.uk. It seems to have worked, as the site is now doing rather well indeed, and even won an award this year for the best individual motoring blog in the UK. I'll take it. If you get a moment, do check it out.
I also decided that I'd have a go at making a car show. As such, I set up a Kickstarter campaign and would you believe it, it worked. So we're now making a show. Episode one has been filmed and is now in the edit stage. Episode two will be filmed next week. It all goes live on the 29th June and there will be one episode per month, a la Roadkill and the like. Busy times. Hopefully you'll like it. There's no forced jeopardy, just some blokes trying bring some shonky old cars back to life.
And peaking of shonky old cars, I've been buying them. I currently have a 2003 E60 530i, but you don't care about that. Even if it was only £1,000. What you will care about, maybe, is this...
My 1999 Rover 800 Vitesse Sport. I bought it for about £475. It's not on the road at the moment, but it does have a whole host of new parts waiting (including a set of Rota GTRs, because why not?). It's currently up with Great Escape Cars in the Midlands, where it's getting some love.
Then there's this 'honey'...
That there is a genuine MGOC cup car. Or it was, once. It's now a collection of bits. But bits that include twin 40 DCNFs, Leda suspension and others. This will be an episode of N2G and as such, it's being re-built next weekend. I'm excited. A Maestro race car is actually a bit of a bucket list thing for me. I'm odd.
So that's about it. I'm here again, so hello again.
Chris
