Due to a impending house move I'm now in the situation of having a clean design sheet for a new garage. Due to needing it to be ready fairly quickly after moving in I'm looking at metal prefabricated garages, mainly from eBay which state they'll be ready in approximately a month. Trouble is I'm in the South West and they seem to be made in Scotland and I'd rather view before buying.
I quite like the look of the one on Flipping bangers, especially as they have a ramp fitted and it's reasonably easy on the eye and doesn't look like a warehouse. Especially as it'll be in view of the house and in the middle of the suburbs. What's the pro's and cons with them re noise pollution, condensation, etc. Or do you have a better option?

I am in a similar situation impending house move from a doudle garage with a loft to flat roof single that will just hold the mustang. I am in the darkest depths of Cornwall. I have considered timber frame metal clad and block construction and am now erring towards block i know it's a bit longer build time but it will blend in better with the existing single. But i will be interested to see where this goes. Good luck

Got mine from this place, guys name was Serge and they did a brilliant two day installation and they install all over. www.secure-sheds.co.uk/The roof is double skinned so have had no condensation issues in nearly 2 years and I had the steel frame galvanized for an extra £100! Ramp has since been built!

I just built a big wooden shed in my garden, and knocked the back of the old garage out to access it.

Hi, some thoughts... A decent concrete base will need a few weeks to dry before you can build on it so laying that is task#1, but you need to know what size garage you are putting on it... If running power to the garage, I'd lay the cables underground before any building starts. Timber = not secure, won't last forever. Prefab concrete = quick but beware condensation, sometimes advertised free, search "sectional garage - buyer to dismantle and remove". Breezeblock = reasonably quick & cheap, apperance? Brick = looks nice but is expensive. Beware asbestos roofing if you buy a used garage. Check if you need planning permission (needed for brick, others should be classed as temporary structures so are ok), search for "permitted development" There are restrictions about height, size, distance from boundaries & other buildings etc. There are a few threads on similar projects that might be helpful forum.retro-rides.org/search/results?captcha_id=captcha_search&where_board_subboard=9&what_at_least_one=garage+mancave&display_as=1

I personally would love to attempt to build a timber garage/barn thing. Zero experience, but a great excuse to get my hands dirty!
