Ever since I bought my 900 turbo, It has leaked a tiny amount of oil. It's done 270k so I just assumed that happens naturally. Thought the flywheel crank oil seal was the main culprit - but during a recent resto after standing 8 years, this got replaced. Then the turbo oil feed return, then various other seals etc - even after jetwashing I could never pinpoint the exact cause. Every previous MOT states minor oil leak. There's a tiny little valve on some vac hose going from the intake to the crank breather. It was around the wrong way. causing pressure in intake to pressurise the engine during turbo use, pushing oil out the existing seals. Turned it around. Fixed. Thought about all the things I have tried and the hours put in to rectify! Such a tiny irrelevant looking component!

My wife backed into my Mazda about 500 miles after I bought it off the showroom floor. The rip in the cover is still there. It's not winning any beauty pageants.

Clutch judder on my Land-Rover. Drives me mad. I've made it better, but never cured it completely. I've changed every single component, more than once, over twenty four years, and it's still there.

Not a mega issue but it still annoys me, I can't for the life of me get my back box to sit straight, it's slightly wonky and it drives me nuts when I see it. Still, first world problems.

I drove my Mini for over 8 years without a screen wash reservoir... Never found one that would fit, and was too lazy to actually find one and fit it... For TÜV I put a random reservoir in the boot, telling the examiner it "just fell off". Always worked.

Mondeo radio volume control for some reason works the wrong way round. turn right to turn down, and visa versa. Must have turned the volume the wrong way a thousand times in 3 years, ive got another complete unit, but just never got round to it.
Exhaust also bangs everything i put the car in reverse for some reason.

Tracking has needed doing on my Volvo daily for the past year, steering wheel not centered as a result. Planned to get it done when I changed the wheels... have yet to change the wheels.
With the Datsun ... well ... how long you got?

RWife's daily is an 2002 Accord SE and the fuel pump Whirr's SO LOUD that sometimes you have to shout over it! Been like it the 3 years and 30k miles we have put on it. It's mounted behind the rear bumper somewhere underneath the passenger side.

The CVT on my Panda has been causing trouble for the last 6+ years. The problem - just a little thing called 'creep', where the car will try to drive forward at junctions, and you have to keep your foot on the brake to stop it . Oh and it doesn't go into any other gears when this happens, so no putting it into neutral to stop it. I have accumulated a vast range of CVT bits to help fix the problem, but I never seem to have time to try and fix it.

On a car i had a couple of years ago, i postponed the oil change untill i had found and solved the huge oilleak it had. Couldn't find it, even though it was leaking quite a lot. After a year and lots of top ups later i found out it was the oil filter itsself leaking... Changed that and it was solved.... oops

Ever since I put the w124 back on the road it's had an annoying rattle from the back end, 4 years, a full suspension rebuild, 2 exhausts, 3 diffs, and countless times poking and prying about underneath it's still there!

Speedo is out by 30% and there's been a vibration which has been present since I got the car 11 years ago which starts at 65mph and is very violent at 70mph. Around 100mph it smooths out somewhat...
The first was caused by fitting a longer diff and the second only revealed its more entertaining facts via an engine change and 100%+ power increase.

For the past year or so, my BMW E34 has had the 55mph 'shimmy' which vibrates the steering wheel in a somewhat annoying fashion. Have changed all the front end suspension and wheels have been balanced but to no avail, currently I'm driving around it, as long as you avoid 50-60mph its usually fine... Also as we head towards winter, I'm sure its ICV issues will start appearing again where it has a very lumpy idle in cold temps and will sometimes cut out.. Still, I should be fixing that with an engine swap when I get round to it

So the Carledo makes a funny noise, it's a sort of metallic whirring, from the vicinity of the gearbox, rather as if the propshaft is rubbing on something! BUT, it only happens when accelerating hard out of right hand bends! It's been the same since I built the car in 2010. I've been under it countless times, i've had the gearbox out (for other reasons) there are no visible rub marks anywhere and the prop and it's coupling are so far from anything that they CAN'T be fouling! In 15000 miles the sound has been completely predictable and has got no better (or worse) It takes the dragstrip in it's stride (and no noise cos it's not going right) and has been hammered round many laps of Castle Coombe (with noise on most corners, Coombe being a right handed track)It does everything else right, corners as if on rails, pulls strongly, stops brilliantly, is UTTERLY reliable and surprisingly good on fuel. All except for this blanketty blank NOISE!!!!!
I have learned to ignore it, but it drives me crazy sometimes, new passengers ALWAYS comment and returning ones give the snarky "not fixed that noise yet then?" comment that is guaranteed to make me wish i'd fitted an ejector seat!

I had an Fiesta automatic I was given & the car basically accelerated all by itself for the whole 2 years I owned it. I dread to think how thin the brake pads were as I'd have to be on the brakes all the time.....I imagine that following me was the cause of much cursing!! 😳
