Nearly that time again,
This weekend I hope to get my suspension back together and the Datsun back on the road. I need to get some shorter springs to get it back at the right ride height, so I may pop up to Castle Coombe to Merlin Motorsport... it also happens to be the Alfaholics day there, so that would be a happy co-incidence.
What are you doing with car stuff this weekend?

No actual work, but another piece of my brake overhaul puzzle needs collecting from the post office.
I've already got a modulator repair kit and today I'll collect my shiny new braided hoses. Next up will be an accumulator and a new PCR Valve, as mine is weeping. Then comes the great underbonnet stripdown. Can't say I'm looking forward to actually doing the work as the guy that supplies the modulator kit reckons around 8-10 hours and looking at it, half of that is just getting the damn thing on and off. On a left hooker, it's kinda crowded in there. Still, it's a fit and forget part, so should never have to come apart again. I hope!

I need to finish pulling any decent bits off this, and then get it out of the way of the shed door and to the scrappers. And then I need to put this onto here

There's a weekend show on at Stonham Barns near Ipswich, mostly old Yanks, so hopefully off to have ganders on Sunday.
Started the weekend with a 100 mile trip into deepest darkest Essex in the E30, had to pick up a 1 series. Cracking drive, nice mix of roads and the E30 was faultless.

Hope to get this off the stand and get the new clutch and gearbox fitted before it goes into the Renault. If not, fanny about some more with this one and try and get it to fire up properly now I've just spent cash on new ignition components.

I've been working my backside off lately so it's a relaxed weekend for me. Going to watch some drifting at Buxton - my car isn't ready yet so I'll be catching up with a few people and maybe getting a few passenger rides. I'm also buying some more wheels for the MX5. Also need to plan the next stage of my Mercedes project as that is going to see some progress this summer!

Getting a bit repetetive, but I will be sanding filler, the plan is to have all the bodywork sorted by Wednesday.
So crack on over the weekend, then I've also booked Tuesday of work and negotiated some garage space so I can crack on even if the weather is pap.

So far..... Took these Cut both parts to size, added a lump hammer. Made like this. And painted like this. Drove 25 miles to fetch these two May inspect some of these later. Anyone join me? And tonight when Nicola goes out to dinner with friends, I hope to address a Raleigh shopper bike that is covered in a few coats of Hammerite with paint stripper after I tear it down. Bootfair in the morning. Then more truck time reassembling motor and possibly opening and servicing TH350 auto transmission.

I'll be raiding my stock cupboard for a new oil filter and heading round to my local "We Changee Oil" place for, well, an oil change. Then I'll go for a bit of a Sunday morning blast after which, yes, Grizz, I'll raise a glass with you! May inspect some of these later. Anyone join me? After that, she'll be ready to head over here... next weekend.

It was the Manta Club AGM today, so a trip to Suffolk was in order. Tomorrow will be taking the Viva Estate to Vauxhall Heritage at Luton for the VBOA open day, assuming it doesn't either dissolve first, or die on the hard shoulder of the M1.
