Yeah just a single car thread. Sue me. I'll start with this pic... I'll ignore the whole manifold/intake reversal malarkey for now because frankly I don't understand it. But anyway, imagine that stupidity propelling you whilst you sit here... All of this is undeniably incredible and awesome. However... What really sells it to me... Is the view everyone else gets - which I suppose may say something about me on a personal level - but I care not. Edit; forgot to add the source and a quick description. that's a bit special. Love how wide and long it looks at that height. Engine looks... Err... Complicated

beautiful. The intake exhaust reversal is how those indycar engines were, maybe easier to fit exhaust and wide wheels in the same narrow car? dunno Couldn't work out why they'd made it a fastback, but the original was: from here

Why stupidity??? Its surely a thing of pure beauty??? Er yes it is. That's why I posted it. I was referring to the good kind of stupidity. Like 11,000rpm 250mph stupidity.

Exhausts in the Vee..... from memory its to do with racers of the 60s packaging rear engine cars and aerodynamics, By put the exhausts in the Vee it was a lot easier to get the exhausts out of the car than running thru the suspension, BUT, somewhere in my addled brain I seem to remember flathead belly tanks used them for aero reasons, with an added advantage that the inlet ports on a normal flatty flow better than exhaust ports, so reversing the flow made perfect sense for performance too. For the falcon it makes perfect sense to me to, if you are running a big single turbo plumbing is a nightmare, run the exhausts out of the vee has to be the perfect solutions, as for the rest of the car, undoubtedly a superb piece of engineering, but just dosent work aesthetically, even if is a "copy" its too overdone for me.

Atmo V8 Power . No slicks , No gas + No bits missing . Doing it in style. Austin A35van, very different------- but still doing it in style, going to be a funmoble

Thanks for that Ian. Makes sense I guess. Personally the fact that its a copy has no bearing on my thoughts about it. I love the way it looks - probably mostly just the upside down bumper! Having said that I do have a thing for hunchbacks which to most seem ungainly. It may be a step too far in many ways but for me thats a positive.

Could it also be a 180 degree manifold? That'd be loads easier to do in the valley, if you do it with the ports outside the block, the manifolds end up needing about half an acre. Look a bit good though, if you've got the room - This explains it better than I'd be able - www.fordfe.info/Exhaust/180FEHeaders.htmYou get better extraction, and they make a mental noise too!

I got so overexcited by the manifold that I forgot to say how good the rest of it is! It's an amazing thing, all round bonkers, and that engine looks incredible!

I love this, to me the engine bay looks mental in all the right ways and the exterior looks damn near perfect The indycar engine is interesting as well, I've always wanted to see a modified car fitted with a Cosworth DFV or something similar

11000rpm?! That must sound insane!
Also looks incredible. How does reversing the inlet and exhaust work? Do they swap the heads from one side to the other or is that a gross simplification?

That is utterly glorious Indy car lump at 11500rpm and that side exit exhaust needs to have a sound clip surely?

Not having gone back to check the article, I have a vague feeling that that front spoiler is the origial bumper used upside down. That rear is a pretty special view.

BAHAHAH Okay this is a twist. Check this out. When I put up those last pics, I thought they looked familiar. Also the title "Lone wolf" rang a bell. retrorides.proboards.com/thread/159666/lone-wolf-picsYes, I have started a thread about this car before. That alone (ie my idiocy and awful memory) is amusing - but the icing on the cake is that when I did so I was told it had been on here about 4 times before. I hang my head and beg your forgiveness. And yes Mark, that is the standard bumper upside down (it's mentioned above).
