Yes i had one if those as well, which was kind of ironic as when something went wrong with thiers, they asked me as 'the car bloke' if i had something that would 'fit this?'

I had a new tyre fitted a while back, then it got a flat a few months later and could I get the locking nut off? Could I ****! I felt like a propper muppet having to get the guys from a freindly local garage out to shift it and even they stuggled for about 20 minutes getting this one nut off that had been somehow fused on.

My pet peeve is the person that always asks is it for sale? My reply is "for the right price" then watch there jaw drop when you ask for £10,000 where in there head they have brought it for £500.
Every car has its price and alot of mine is sentimental. Not to mention the time and blood spill running it.

My pet peeve... well it has escalated into the bane of my life. WHY THE curse word DID I START IT?! I keep saying it'll be finished next year but it never is... just somehow sucks money and the will to live like a curse word blackhole vortex of doom.

Speaking of Halfords peeves, I just purchased a pack of about 5 nylon cable ties for £7000.00 when B&Q sell packs of about 500 for tuppence. I didn't have time to go huffing off to B&Q muttering about the prices, I just had to suck it up.
Some of those figures are estimates by the way.

We're alright here, Halfords is slap bang next to a B&Q supercentre.
I had an arguement in Halfords once about my Series 3 109 landrover, the spotty rejected by Macdonalds halfwit insisted i meant Discovery, as their system didn't have it!

WHY THE curse word DID I START IT?! ... Because it'll be a damn fine piece of kit when it's finished and you'll be chuffed to bits you did it. Trouble with projects is they don't pay out the feelgood tokens until you get in them and drive them as an almost finished thing for the first time. (and then you get another hairbrained idea, and sell the finished thing within a week for nothing like what it cost you to build it, in order to subject yourself to the same hell all over again with another project). : )

My peeves are usually the incompetence of my own family They don't understand simple old fashioned door handles as they try and pull them from the car, seat-belts that are not the inertia type that they then shut in the door walking off. Why my car has no radio and a loud engine, and those stupid handles to turn for opening a window rather than a button. Oh and finally, my car smells of old people! (I'm 34)

Tried to get some solid discs for my Rover 45 - but the muppets (three of them, including the manager!) insisted that vented meant drilled+grooved, they'd "never seen a disc with vents down the middle of it" I just got a refund, and left with pads only.... which were still extortionate, even with a trade card

And about the jag just tell them you don't need to worry about fuel consumption since the lottery win Its funny you should say that, as my manager at work (who drives a Jag XF) usually makes the joke that 'We're definitely paying you too much' when my XJ comes up in conversation, despite the fact it was probably the cheapest car to buy in our whole team at work

Also just remembered that I have a pet peeve with the Jag itself.. The boot line slopes downwards towards the back of the car which looks great from a design point of view, but when you're reversing, you can see nothing of the tail end of the car at all. Couple this with a lack of parking sensors and a certain amount of guesswork is needed when it comes to parking

When anyone mentions the V word in relation to my Manta, its an Opel, made by Opel, and sold new by an Opel dealer. It is a model that was not sold under any other brand name (although you did have to go to a Buick dealer to buy one in the USA).
