As the name suggests, if you are a Volkswagen fanatic tell us what your favorite is? Photos help, especially if you have one! Mine would have to be an MK1 Golf or Rabbit with a 4 speed box and a 1.8l 8v engine. But I'll stick with the same chassis

Volkswagen Brasilia! I love these because I've never seen a real one so I have a huge and unreasonable expectation of how brilliant they are.

Good question. Any VW? I'd prefer a collection (which would include a tastefully modded non-GTi MK1 Golf, a '58 Resto Cal bug, a (quattro'd) GL5 Passat wagon and a TH-Automobile Multivan) but if I had to pick just one (and, for this scenario we're assuming they all have the same value)... I think it might be a Karmann Ghia TC: It's not even the best looker of the KG family, but it still looks nice, carries the legendary KG script on the rear hatch and would turn heads over here like no other - especially when it's slammed on a set of Fuchs. This one is certainly heading in the right direction: Although the VW Dodge is definitely worth considering!

I have a soft spot for the 1968-70 1500 Beetle, which I think is the best all-round package of all the Beetles. Still looks like a proper classic car with a painted steel dash and upright windscreen, but they're quite modern to drive with the disc brakes and 12 volt electrics. No vents or "death foam" in the rear pillars to rust them out either. Here's mine, which was my first VW.

I 'd prefer a collection too, from a very early split to an 80s passat and 'rocco. But if i had to choose one it would be this, a Type34 Karman. Maybe i like it cause I'm such a sucker for early Corvairs, i dunno, i just know i love'em. I'm quite happy with the one i have too. Its a single cab bay window, even thou its a back burner hell of a project...

I had a razor for a while but never finished it; I have had numerous Beetles that have come and gone. I have loved my van for 11 years but its now for sale. So by a process of elimination, my favorite VW will be the one that is my keeper; Old type 3 by route9autos.co.uk, on Flickr Dave

Either one of these, or a Squareback from the same generation. But at the factory(ish) ride height.

I think the VW I would be most likely to own at any stage would be something along these lines.

I'm slowly but surely rebuilding my bus, I've always loved the shape of these, especially the 'late' models - i think the bumpers look nicer than the early rounded ones. but on the other hand, I would -love- to own a frid one day, I still kick myself for not buying one years back before they were 'cool'
