While I’ll be bunging up a load of my photos from the weekends Goodwood FoS (in a DarrenW stylee), here’s a self indulgent post made by a proud/jealous dad who got to learn and pass on some history lessons.
1932 Alfa Romeo Tipo B (P3)
From the FoS guide:
'The worlds first genuine single-seater racing car, the Alfa Romeo Tipo B, or P3, is 80 this year. The 24 year old Frenchman Guy Moll was signed by Scuderia Ferrari in 1934 and won the Monaco Grand Prix in this car.'
Good article about Moll's very short career.

1929 Bentley 4.5 Litre Supercharged #002
“Tim Birkin drove this ‘Blower’ Bentley with verve at Le Mans in 1930, forcing Caracciola to overstress his Mercedes SSK and retire. Neither Birkin nor team mate Benjafield finished, but Barnato and Kidson won in ‘Old Number One’.
I never got to ‘play’ in pre-war racing cars as a kid….
