	Ventured down to Crystal Palace today. Last minute decision to go today because the weather was looking pretty good, and Cara was happy to come along (being 8 months pregnant, we take each day as it comes). 1st time down there, so had no real expectations. I think it's a great event, we had a brilliant afternoon and it is a bargain for a tenner and I'm sure will grow year and year now. There is a great variety of machines, access to the Paddock is really easy, and it was nicely relaxed. Tempted to go back tomorrow. I only took my Nifty Fifty so didn't even attempt any action shots, so bear with me on these, also, still learning all this stuff, and 1st day out using this lens. Anyway, enough gassing, here is my day, hope you enjoy - Lovely Racing Imp, great stance and lovely paint - Not a huge MG fan but this was just amazing. The noise from the V8 was epic, quick too - This looks like it has seen a lot of action, and all the better for it - This E21 looked perfect - I think this is the scariest picture I have ever taken - The driver of this Mk1 Scirroco complained of overheating, and this is one of his attempts to cool things down, a great honest mod - Anyone spot anything close to our hearts? - Oh Yeah ;D and my favourite of the day, Baby Bump -

	Top pics there fella. Well done to the good lady for getting out and about at 8 months too. Forgot this was this weekend and out of London tomorrow Really wanted to make it after seeing last years pics too, looks a great show.

	Got speaking to the driver of this; 2.5 T25 lump (water cooled ) knocking out 200bhp. Could start a trend... This is MIBs car (a regular on this board), formerly owned by Matt Jones. Lovely car;

	Yeah was a good day there today, should be interesting if it does rain tomorrow, shame I cant be there. Great pics you took there, how do you get that effect that makes them look like scale model cars with an out of focus background?

	Great photos, what lens are you using? They are depth of field-tastic. Today looks dry so far, and (light) rain forecast gets moved later and later in the day. Shame not to bump into you Al. Going to head up in 40 minutes or so.

	Great pics. I'll dump a whole load more in here too! I managed over 600 yesterday. Brilliant day, we saw the second practice runs, wandered the paddock and watched two of the three timed runs before heading home ;D The small classic car show outside had some interesting motors in it as did the carparks. "Excuse me sir, mind if we ask you a few questions" ;D

	The race paddock amongst the trees was again loaded with WIN Only a replica, but looked and sounded the part. Bill McGoverns Imp The Imp was driven by the legendary Rod Birley, he also monstered his WRC Escort round as well ;D

	We watched the second of the practice sessions from the start line to begin with, before finding a handy lump of stone along the run down to the hairpin that gave a nice view over the armco. ;D

	The first timed runs we watched from the terrace over looking the chicane, giving a great view from the start line corner as the cars disappeared down to the hairpin and then back past and into the chicane. With much chuckling from the crowd and ribbing from the commentators the Delta E-4 stopped after less than half the run, the driver complaining of a foot to ~~loud~~ quiet pedal incompatibility problem! ...the future it seems , is not that bright at the moment ;D

	For the second set of timed runs we moved firstly to the spot we found last year just inside the lower chicane spectator area, by sitting on the floor and shooting between the rescue vehicles you got a nice view to the start and out of the chicane. Before moving along the straight so we could see the final corner and the exit from the chicane. This 7 alike driver lost it out of the chicane, performing a nice pirouette on the grass. And that was it, needing to be back before my daughter went to bed we headed home after the second timed runs, bumping into the boss on the way out. Another spectacular at The Palace. There are loads of photos here if you still need a bigger fix ;D

	One last post from yesterday, so cool it needs its own post ;D Star of the day for me, the Surtees F5000 TS11, brutal sound (especially when you are kneeling next to it taking photos and they fire it up!) It was carrying out demo runs during the day. We watched two runs from it, loads of noise. 1. 2.

	I cant believe I missed this. ALL of the pics in here are epic. I have a thing for Alfasud Sprints because my old man had one when I was a kid (Black A reg Cloverleaf). 	Great to see everyone elses photos in this thread and others. I spent most of today trackside so missed a fair amount of the static exhibits. Fab to see the variety that was there on the Sunday too. I took a lot of photos, mostly as I was trying out a new (to me - actually quite old) lens and will try and get some up on here at some point. I watched the Matra-Simca Bagheera hit the barrier not far from where I had been standing a couple of minutes earlier up by the finish line. That was exciting. The Turner seemed to lunch its gearbox on the entry to the chicane on its last run too which was a shame. Hats off to some of the balls out driving by the Escort boys, the Sunbeams, that black Elan+2, the mean Mk2 Jag and the Chaparral just looked so awesome. Also the sound and smell of the Bugatti. So much good stuff.

	Here's a few of my "rejects" I've had a bit of a play with. From the pages of Hot Rod 1954? Several of the Cooper, period looking helmet etc helps. I discovered the reason for the rapidity of the Riley special when in the paddock. Twin blowers! Fed by a big old SU with two float chambers. Also another "miss" but I thought wheel lifting on the last corner was brave. Mrs_Seth was having a good practice behind the lens too as she hasn't really done much moving stuff. She played with settings a bit and got some really nice results, these from the last corner.
