Best show ever. With the possible exception of all the other RRGs which were also amazing. Yet to go through all mine, but have a phone pic from the tat auction on Saturday night:

BALLS careful on the old RRG campsite mods, don't let Kev lose with a grinder - we all know how that ends. hahaaa, i am well aware of the danger. This is why I clearly stated that it was a joke - also I will not be bringing them along in order to avoid any temptation to "have a go myself" after 17 cans of cider using only some pritt stick, a flathead screwdriver and a torch.

I think I recognize those seats, and the maser. Leicester direction? Q4 and normal 155 seats should be the same but subframes can be unbolted... ;-) Not Leicester - down here by Farnham actually. As for Q4 and 155 having the same subframe well I'm pretty sure you're right (hence why I bought them). That's where this gets interesting. Having just come back from the garage, they are now adamant that they won't do the job. They are very different from the standard ones and do not unbolt (yes, they have shown me). So I will be at RRG with cream back seats, cream door cards and grey cloth front seats. I've just spoken to the seller and the Recaros were "definitely out of a 155 - so should fit no problem - must be your garage", although after more probing it seems that they were actually custom made for a Q4. IE wont fit in a non-4wd 155 without custom subframe fab - something that the garage I've taken it to don't want to be responsible for for various reasons. Of course I will get them in, just not before 11am tomorrow when we leave for RRG. DEFEAT.Anyone bringing a mig and some subframe material to RRG? <-- whilst this is a joke stranger things have happened in the RRG camping ground Can't wait.

I hope I've been laughing with you? Yeah, don't worry, I'm always laughing. Or maybe swearing. Just been to do some swearing actually. Popped along to the garage to see how it's all coming along. Rear looks nice. Then I asked how it's coming along. The conversation went something like this: Them: Those front seats won't go in this car mate. Me: Well they will. Them: Nah mate, subframes are all different. Me: They're out of a 155 so I imagine there's a way. Do you possess a grinder and a mig? Them: Err yeah. Me: Well get them in there and don't f***ing set fire to them. You have 1 day.* *may not have said it exactly like thatMy guess is that they're out of a Q4 which is 4wd (basically Delta Integrale) so they're probably right to be fair. Probably why the previous owner didn't ever get them in his 155. Also means that a.) They will be bodged in with sellotape and blutack and b.) I will be doing their dishes. Balls.

Thanks everyone That Quattroporte must be pretty special, but I have a huge soft spot for the Legacy Oh upon reading that back I realise I gave the impression it belongs to me, but the Legacy is a company car - I sell used cars and have a different demo every couple of days. I do have a soft spot for them too though In fact I could probably write some pretty interesting stories about the old snotters I run around in - but they'd all be too new and too unmolested for here (although some are truly molested come to think of it). Read through this whole thread on and off during my day at work and I've got to say it's one of the funnier ones on here. Depends whether you're laughing with me or not! If you're laughing at my misfortune, incompetence and general bodgery then that would hurt my feelings. Thanks though You going for a 90s/early 00s inspired look? Hadn't even crossed my mind! I'm going for a "nice Alfa" look - although I am a bit stuck in the 90's music-wise and that's when this was built. Anyway. Interior. In the cold light of day it's maybe not quite up to the ebay pics I posted above... Just look at these door cards! I've spent the last day rubbing everything hard with things and now my arm is sore. Take that how you will. They've come up quite nicely to be fair. Also the rear door cards have holes in them for workout window winders - and I have leccy rear windows so they'll need to have some sort of cheesey cloverleaf badges or some such stuck over them On a more positive note, the headrests of the front seats have these amazing Citizen monitors in the back of them which are about 4" across! Very 2001 - in fact that might answer your question qwertyAnyway, I've taken the cowards way out and dropped the car off at a garage by my work who I trust to not completely ruin everything and at least use a touch of lube when it comes to the "I need this lot in for tomorrow" bill! I have no money now, it's all gone on Recaros, beer and nappies (not all for me) - so they'll get what they're given. Are their hourly "trade rates" more than Cliff Richard pays his legal team per day? Will I end up doing their dishes over RRG weekend? Will I end up choosing the most important seats I need in? Will I end up booking train tickets to Shelsey Walsh on Saturday afternoon? Tune in later on when it all comes to a head! [/dramatic_update]

Nice Rover! I've liked these (and had impure thought about them) ever since I had to drive one daily at work. Was a V6 auto with all the trimmings, really nice car actually.
On an unrelated note, why is there a Honda here?
Can we have moar 75 please?

meh, just makes the car heavier. I have narrowed the rear beam on my weekend car to fit stupid wheels so even if I carried a spare I'd need a 20mm spacer and longer bolts to go with it. Probably need a block of wood to park on to use the widowmaker too. The weight of the spare and all the bits could then invoke reverse rake *horrified face*. I guess another question to add to list is whether the "two of your fleet" are driven frequently enough to warrant the extra faff. I do generally have some form of spare in the cars I drive daily - I'm not a total idiot...

That was a very entertaining read! Thanks, one aims to please Fitted the OhEmPee spacers back on today. They rub a bit, but they look nice Rear discs are looking a bit groovy there, but they're not that bad in person - years left yet! Also I had to adjust the camber bolts on the front - apparently one was "a bit loose" for the MOT back in November and they had tightened it but hadn't set the camber the same as the other side All better now though. Tried to incorporate a shot of the rear bumper that has had some paint, but my phone seems to have let me down again - should really get a camera I suppose, these pics don't really do Kirk's work any justice. So anyway, I hinted above that I had something up my sleeve for RRG, and that I had "won" something on the worldwideinternetwork. Well I can't keep a secret so I may as well let the cat out. This evening I went on a mini tat mission to pick up something a bit special (and genuinely rockinghorse doodah). It must have been something nice - the seller had this parked outside (not the Legacy - that's my hack). I made him let me sit behind the wheel of the Quattroporte and make boosty noises. The interior was beautiful (not to mention the engine bay with that biturbo V8) And speaking of nice interiors, had had this for me: Full beige leather Recaro interior with dark red piping, door cards and even mats. Hopefully I can get it all in for Friday morning (without a day off)! Excited? Me? Yeah, probably more than a grown up should be. T-minus 3 days and counting...

Start to end thread reading catch up - enjoyed the thread - car looks great * also surprised by chemical metal never had much faith in that stuff Glad you enjoyed it, means a lot. There are so many better builds on here but my limited budget and mechanical nous mean I'm up against it a bit - especially with the camera phone antics! JB weld and most chemical metal in general is great stuff, I swear by it. Possibly because I can at times be a bit of a bodge artist... Anyway, I'm posting in here to say that I may have just splashed a little cash and SHOULD have something lovely to show for it by the time we get to RRG on Friday. I can't wait. Although I am fully aware that winning something on ebay on a Sunday does not necessarily mean it'll be in/on/attached to the vehicle come Friday morning - especially with no days off before then!!! Fingers crossed! Time for some serious neglecting of family duties hard work...

Well aren't you glad you came to the open-minded car forum where everyone is positive about everything and nobody slates you for your personal taste or life choices.
Can't really say I love it but good on you for upsetting the apple cart.

And that´s why I would like to list up some threads, where such single pics might fit in... This is the way to do it. Maybe we can come up with a way of getting them all pinned somewhere once the list exists? I found some cool stuff today, so I took the time to put it where it belongs (bit of an arseache at the time) but then on the way I found a bunch more cool stuff and it turned out to be well worth the effort. It also makes the forum in general a more valuable resource as everything is categorised and if you're looking for a certain thing (like a certain make of car or an interior or a certain style or look) it's way easier to find than scrolling through 1000 pages of random images (I've done that before in NRNR and I hate it). I miss the thread, it was great and it was easy to post in, but the way forward is better.

You could do a double decker conversion and paint it red. Or a kei car conversion? But please don't, I love it just the way it is - bodywise.
