Doesn’t work for me, the proportions look odd, chassis way to high, as is engine, looks awfull to drive with the line of sight right through the roofline.... Wouldn’t fancy getting a puncture in a rear tyre either... Have something else a little too shiny but different and i love...

The Internet, like all tools, if used improperly, can make a complete bo**cks of even the simplest jobs...

Is it me, or are the front wheels/tyres taller than the rear?

I don't know where it is but the window arrangement on the split van bottom right is pretty unusual.
The rear corner windows were usuallu seen on 15 and 23 window busses.

Brian Damaged, you posted this gasser pic in the no rhyme, no reason thread. Do you have any more info on it, or a link to where you got the pic from? Its just about the most awesome gasser I've seen, I bloody love it!

I wonder where this picture might have been taken? Does anybody have a clue? Could be north or middle america, but I don´t think it´s in europe (too much us cars). Google image search reckons É a Av. Nilo Peçanha, Rio de Janeiro, 1960 and sends you to this web site: antigosverdeamarelo.blogspot.co.uk/2008_12_01_archive.htmlI love the internet! ;D C.

/\ I have no idea what it is (other than a deathwish) or indeed, where the image has originated, it just popped up on my Tumblr feed.
Awesome though ain't it!? They obviously had much bigger minerals and very little by the way of health and safety back in the 50s/60s ;D
I've just had a little google about, and it seems to just loop back to RodsNSods and JalopyJournal threads for unusual dragsters.
I'd love to get some more info though, its a really great image.

I don't know where it is but the window arrangement on the split van bottom right is pretty unusual. The rear corner windows were usuallu seen on 15 and 23 window busses. The only places to do their own weird and wonderful versions of Splitty Kombis were Brasil and South Africa as far as I know. I can't imagine Brazil having so many other european cars, so perhaps Cape Town, South Africa?

Any idea where I could read it (apart from actually buying it, which in my current position would make little financial sense)? Thanks!

I wonder where this picture might have been taken? Does anybody have a clue? That is Rio de Janero, Av. Nilo Peçanha – 1960, I did find where I think it is on google earth, but it is virtually unrecognisable. Here is a whole bunch of pictures on that same street over many years: www.skyscrapercity.com/showthread.php?t=877776&page=54And one more from the same year:
