Whilst trying to find the pcd (failed) I saw a picture of them being built in the factory & noticed 2 things: 1 - they appear to use Peugeot 205 headlights 2 - You could get it really low to the floor should you so want... haha I think headlights, as identified by nickwheeler may be Rover How low do you want it….. on air. Not sure about the front end though. How low? laying frame, with wide arches and wide rims I stand by them being 205 headlights www.lanemotormuseum.org/images/cars/canta_1998/canta_lx_1998_web5a.jpg

Loncin G340FD (337cc, 10hp) G Series Engines So, a Honda clone. Means the 420cc 13hp single-pot would fit in there. Those have quite a bit available for them as they're popular with the space-frame off-road buggy crowd. Seems you can buy a 40hp racing version for Kart racing... apparently.

I think scrap value is at least £500 for a car atm, if you can buy it back cheap enough - bit of t-cut on the rear bumper and you should be able to sell it for a decent amount

I'm not saying the wrote it off because they make good money selling them via copart, but, well they do lol. All I can see is a rear bumper that wants painting

I'd be tempted with taxing it on DD, bit more expensive but you can sorn it at any point and not have to worry about refunds. Are you going for a midnight drive tonight then? p.s - it passed it's test on my 40th

Its crazy now, there isn't a single working car at £500 or less on my eBay. You'd have thought with the incoming CAZ's in various cities the market would be flooded but doesn't seem to be so far. I think one of the problems is, there's nothing good available to replace stuff with & if it is CAZ/ULEZ compliant then theres not much point replacing unitl it's dead.

I've recently found a EP91 3dr Starlet for sale locally for £800, thats about as close to this as I can get! Trying to help a mate find a set of alloys with good tyres for his BMW & there just arent any cheap sets with good tyres atm.
If what I am hearing is right, scrap sets of alloys are worth £100 & most car's weigh in for close to £500 atm which would explain even the crappiest car's with MOT being £1500. Havent seen mch wrth buying sub £2k!

Before you take out a days insurance have a ring around a few of the specialists, for us mature types it can be ridiculously cheap to insure some 0f these things (I pay less than £100 for my elan). Agreed, give Brentacre a try. My mk2 is £160 p/y fully comp with all mods declared (only thing standard is the shell), also agreed value & salavge retention rights.

Always is more work and takes longer than you expect - good going! We tackled some kind of hedge thing yesterday morning, figured we would have it out in a hour - just cut it and the bottom and pull... 3 hours, lots of cuts to my hands and much swearing and it was out. If I could have got a car near enough I would have dragged the stupid thing out with a rope haha Next time, if you've got one, use an engine hoist. They are VERY good at removing stumps etc. The embarasing thing about this was it wasnt even the stumps, just the stupid ivy/hedge thing - it's now in a big dead pile haha.

Still waiting for rims and lows for the Yaris...
Nice work on the lock, for a bodge the metal repair that's been done looks pretty good. Gives me flash back to my 6n2's and trying to fix the stupid lock mechanism that broke on both of them 🤣
