Looking at your current wheels, I would think you should avoid any of the muscle cars, try concentrating on non sporty stuff, day vans, pickups or even station wagons, the vehicles where the style of the ride is more important than the performance, Lowriders would be an example of this, but a nice 50s sled probably would bust the budget Ttfn Glenn

I've been watching quite a bit of Roadkill on Youtube recently and its awesome, really enjoy it. The curse word they drive on the road though! They go out to the desert to do the silly road tests and donuts but they drive random stuff they have made, no number plates, big holes in the floors etc. How are they not in Jail? Different country, so a whole different set of rules. But in the UK there's a large amount of car that can be "missing" and not get you a ticket, but it does help having a film crew present to keep records of everything and high flying corporate lawyers to keep you on the right side of the law and, to chew up and spit out any law enforcement officer who thinks they have a chance of stardom. Another option some people use is, multiple licenses from different countrys, how would a uk court go about putting points on a non eu license? Another get out is leaving the country, some areas have had real trouble with foreign lorry drivers breaking all sorts of laws, then off home again before it can get to court. Is it time to nip over the channel and get a French license for a post brexit speeding extravaganza?

The same laws apply, but the rich and famous can get Nick Freeman to find them a loophole to wriggle through. Supposedly a certain recently deceased singer, regularly walked away from drink driving charges Ttfn glenn

Many years ago, there was a tv show called tomorrows world, I vaguely remember an episode showing an exhaust filter using cyclone type technology, possibly a Dyson invention, wonder what happened to that technology? My current ride is a 19 year old diesel which runs on almost straight veg oil, I use 10% petrol added to thin the oil, other solvents are not allowed as they haven't had duty paid, otherwise I could be running purely renewable energy. If this version of scrappage comes in, will it be after the budget, when except for pure electric cars (under 40k) all road tax rates are being ramped up. Ttfn Glenn Google shows I was not imagining it www.independent.co.uk/news/uk/inventors-clean-air-exhaust-rejected-1500439.html

Very nice space to play in. That looks like an Edwards box and pan folder, if so there's a slight possibility that I may have built it, Ttfn Glenn

The diesel scheme looks to be centered around London, where the diesel is being named as the spawn of Satan and the cause of all the problems in the world, at least one area is going to charge extra for parking diesel vehicles, Plus many get hammered by the LEZ. The Vauxhall scheme is just a discount scam. Ttfn Glenn

I shall step up as the boring, wet flannel type. You have a truck in bits, in your garage. Time and funds are in short supply. Buying another truck will stall the build of your existing one by soaking up available funds and time Which truck would you rather be driving and how soon? Ttfn Glenn Don't flame me for being a boring old fart. How about going direct to source for a selection of trucks? www.getauto.com/for-sale/chevrolet-s--10-12?zip=94107&fromyear=1980&toyear=2018&fromSRP=On

I mentioned the train, a bit tongue in cheek, but it seems It could be possible for about 75 pounds per head www.seat61.com/Austria.htm#ViennaFlying is almost certainly the practical choice, but is rather boring since there will only be the return journey as a road trip. Ttfn Glenn

Two options spring to my warped mind
1 Cheap disposable car to drive down and abandon on collecting truck, estate car could be used to sleep in during the journey to reduce costs 2 Motorcycle for the trip down, which then gets loaded onto truck for the return Not really an option, but how about the train? Ttfn Glenn

My CLK has no cup holders... the MR2 I had previously had more of them than seats! My T4 has no cup holders but my Sedona also has more holders than seats and also has a couple of bottle holders, funny thing is, my 74 beetle has two, but they are very shallow and any movement of the car would see the contents dumped in the passengers lap. Some time ago, a friend told me that a George foreman grille was very useful when you were camping with a hookup power supply. Popped into lidl on my way home from work and spotted this So now I can have healthy grilling on the go Ttfn Glenn

The electrical gremlins have decided to return and set up home in the fuel gauge At the left is the proof that I have a screw loose? Currently having some bright sunshine, which has shown the screen to be covered in micro scratches, a session of cleaning, clay bar and polish has made it better, not perfect but a lot less glare. Mainly been working on turning a pair of filing cabinets into a cooking pod for Fungus. Here they are waiting for the epoxy to harden Just need to add some carbon composite and would be up with hypercar technology. Needed new locks for the drawers, so a trip to screwfix got me a pair of keyed alike camlocks They are now fitted and once the glue has set, the drawers can be refitted to the carcass. Ttfn Glenn

Would have thought that since forward gears work fine, with no crunching on engagement or slipping, the clutch is ok, since the problem is inability to select reverse or it jumping out, I would be going back through checking the gear linkage. Ttfn Glenn

Going back to the start point of the thread, with the dodgy dealer, if you still fancy some recompense, how about a call to hmrc/inland revenue suggesting they might be interested in someone and their undisclosed income stream, and a call to trading standards about an unregistered dealer operating in their area. The council might also be interested in a residential property being used as a business premises/car sales Ttfn Glenn

So far the LEDs have been fine, headlights give much more vision at night, interior ones are very slightly blue but are working fine, haven't really tried out the tailgate ones yet, but if too bright I can remove a section or if not bright enough, It's easy to add more. Running roughly 90% veg and 10% petrol with a splash of Morris diesel additive. The 2.4 vw motor has a bit of a reputation for the throttle spindle seals failing, usually at high mileages though, but seal kits are cheap and fairly easy to fit Current veg price at Costco is about 80p a litre and diesel at the Tesco opposite is 1.20. At the moment I have 80 litres in stock, which at current rates will save me 32 pounds. Or another way of looking at it can be, the van does at least 30 mpg so veg cost savings give an equivalent to 45mpg Here's a better picture of the cupboard The picture doesn't show how flipping heavy it is!! Some time ago I was given an extension lead with fubarred sockets, never got round to doing anything with it until I had the idea to turn it into a camping lead. A trip to toolstation got me a 16amp blue plug and a metal socket and box. Diy wiring lesson for my youngest produced this Must improve my photography Attempt 2 Ttfn Glenn
