arrocuda: I love that (and thereifixedit, top site), good way of making it green-er.
Hardcore: not a jetta/beetle but a golf, a caddy... my point is that there is physical work involved but the brain work is done, beetle pans can run by themselves almost so strapping another shell on it is not a massive feat logistically or mentally. It's just my opinion, like I said at least it's being creative; But I like other things.
dbizzle: it was just me brain storming whilst typing. Stooby has explained for me.
I personally appreciate other things, this is not a bad creation, I hope it looks good when it's done, just not my cup of tea.

NOT my thing I have to say.
Been done and not really a hard thing to do. On the plus, at least it is not a Prius, oh Prius on a bug pan...or or on a tax exempt range rover chassis! with a very badly running V8! Now that i would adore!
Back to the face off beetle, I would much rather see someone take a Jetta and to the same slam-narrow-wide5wheel thing to it and show some real handy work.
There is a certain MK1 golf on here that has done something close to the above, and I love that recipe.
And hey who am I for talking, I have a Jetta, I should do what I say and stop judging this poor harassed beetle.

Roof rack is a fail. Fine if you are using it for something but not for decor. I'll save my petrol thank you.

Great work mate. I'm jealous. So much so I'm stealing some of your ideas for a burner I'm making.
I always like seeing updates on this.

From what i've been skegging about for mine doesn't seem too bad apart from coillies which cost a bomb due too the curse word desighn of the front susspension just stick coil-over conversions on the front. they will work out under 100 quid.

What a great arch roller! I have one half made, way over engineered compared to this. Fantastic. Great work with the rest. I love full DIY builds. Keep it up.

squeeze me but whats a wbx and whats a bug? A bug is a Volkswagen Beetle, and a WBX engine is a Subaru engine. I happen to have stephanhipwell's thread in my bookmarks, so have a link Class, it's a VW WBX out of a T3 van, it has same internals as a Type4 engine but bigger bore and water-cooled. Seems I may have to have a go at making one.

I have used Liquid Metal before and i do love it but this has a crack in the side of it and as it's plastic I doubt it would work. I need a more reliable solution.
