The guy with the jaw issue, from American hot rod left to go and work for Chip Foose who most would know had also worked for the late Boyd Coddinton. Hadn't he been in a bad stock car crash as a teenager that had left him with nerve damage? think they showed footage of the crash on one of the episodes. Apparently still makes custom wheels: www.newstalgiawheel.com/shop/categories/custom-wheels/curtis-speed

Slim pickings in Asda today :-( this was the only retro I could find, was all stuff like boats and fantasy rubbish. Stuck it in the basket anyway. Really wanted a Ford pickup.

Amazing. Defo a place to go on the list when we do the Germany road trip I have planned for the future.
Although it does remind me of the junkyard scene in the film "labyrinth"!

@automatik could I be really cheeky and ask for a very dark grey/black version of that with red+smoked tail lights? (cos that's my car innit :-P )
Many thanks!

Was the weird servo setup a right hand drive only thing due to the exhaust manifold being in the way?

All good advice above. I bought a second hand portamig in the summer having never held a welding torch in my life and I have just finished welding up the sills and floorpan of my BMW. Really satisfying and another thing ticked off the bucket list. Look up all the threads started by tonybmw and get reading.... ![:)](//storage.proboards.com/forum/images/smiley/smiley.png) Bloody love my Portamig - it's chalk an cheese compared to cheap box mover welders - I struggled with an SIP for ages thinking I was the problem Pretty sure it was one of your posts that convinced me to get the portamig! Great bit of kit, and I know it will always be worth at least what I paid for it if I get bored of sticking steel together :-)

Loving looking through this thread, had loads of Matchbox cars when I was little- they are still in a big box in my Dad's loft somewhere. My little boy is just starting to get interested in matchbox and hotwheels cars so I recently discovered the big dump bins on the bottom shelf of the toys aisle at my local Asda ![:)](//storage.proboards.com/forum/images/smiley/smiley.png) So far have just been getting purple cars (his favourite colour) and anything to do with buses as he loves them too. Scored a purple Dodge Daytona and the "Hotwheels High" school bus last weekend. Have to say didn't realise Matchbox did so much VW stuff, will have to look harder next time... ![:)](//storage.proboards.com/forum/images/smiley/smiley.png)

Great to see you back Tony, your metalworking threads have been a massive help over the summer, after I discovered some rot in the floor pans and sills of my e39. I managed to fabricate all my own repair panels taking massive inspiration and guidance from your posts :-)

Nice long episode too! two days worth for me ![:)](//storage.proboards.com/forum/images/smiley/smiley.png) Usually watch new episodes with my breakfast as everyone else is still in bed and I get free reign of the Ipad!

Haha I know the feeling of sending something off to CADCAM support, only to be told it can't be done, then emailing them back a week later saying errr ok I've figured it out myself and no I'm not telling you how unless you give us a bigger discount next year :-)

Yes it's been invaluable on my e39 530i.. Just another tool to help rather than something to be afraid of.

Well, Ford bought Jaguar in that 10 years so it could well be a parts bin special in terms of switchgear etc. Wondered how they compared to say an e38/e39 BMW interior.
